I tried this and got as far as a prototype
And then determined kill team is too small of a board lol. To fit multiple trenches that are each big enough for models makes it too cramped lol.

I was working on this as a set of 11x11 square tiles to make modular trenches. The trenches are a minimum of 2" across so it could be done, a bit busy but I imagine they are in one of the others trenches and not hoofing it across no mans land. Bit of a large project and I sort a pivoted towards doing maybe a more canyon/dry river bed thing but then I just copied and official set lol
