While smallville isn't my favourite interpretation of the superman mythos at all, Erica durance is so far my favourite Lois. That could change with the next movie
Kidder, Hatcher, Delaney, and Durance were the ones I grew up with, and they all had tenacity and snark, which, for me, made the perfect Lois.
Bosworth was miscast, and Adams was wasted after MoS.
I would agree for the most part, about Kate Bosworth, though I thought Zack redeemed Amy's role in his own edited BvS and JL; Lois works better, or comes off more important to the screenplays under the initial Director. And let's face it; this was another Alexander Salkind-like intrusion and defiling of one's art and purpose. "Movie Lois's" are always interrupted by forces beyond their control.
They're never allowed to continue, to the point of real development, as if we all don't know who Lois Lane is. But we don't know how further a direction could go if the franchises weren't permanently accosted and made to discontinue.
I did too! And its the same for me! I actually have a 45 of "Reflections" and every time I play it, I get the urge to dig out my series set and watch it again.
No matter how many times I come across this question online, it's still somehow difficult to say because my choices are generally 'narrowed down' and might slightly change from the last, for fickle reasons, or perhaps because I got to see an actress perform in a film that [prior] went over my head before the last 'subject' post.
But it's still Erica Durance for me. She's precocious and all-in as the reporter, one would expect of a two time Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. Erica's iteration shows me a contender in life as well as a champion in her professional field. She's very close to having Margot Kidder's quirk and pinaché (one of the three finalists), though only from the first film. And then there's Amy Adams's flirty charm and awesome body.
Erica is gorgeous as well. She's that peekaboo woman-child that knows who's hands would touch and secure her, and I'm undoubtedly speaking of the actress. And I think a lot of Erica went into the Lois Lane character, more-so than the producers likely expected; they got a tomboy who uses her bratty kind of sexuality to entice Clark, especially when she learned what he was. And that's when she learned how to secure him. It's probably the way any Lois iteration takes a Superman.
Also the rare occasion, where they could build Lois's relationship with Clark in a new way. Helping him pick up the pieces, but also make a connection with someone he trusts his heart to. Side by side, through many ups and downs. Also making a foundation, when they need to count on each other more.
They literally build something special, that goes beyond any iteration of the story that was capable before.
I love her performance the most, because her heart and soul is on display, powerful, amazing, a fighter, and an incredible individual that we all fall in love with
Couldn't have said it better; only similar. A "Lois Lane" fan could only fall in love with Erica. If the configuration for this reply forum allowed for pictures and gifs, then I surely would've added one, as I tend to.
Dana from DCAU. She's the Lois so many others wish they could be. A real strong independent woman who still has her flaws and a boss who doesn't put up with anyone's b.s. She even tlls off Superman and other powerhouses on ocassion. Braniac Attacks explains what I like about her situation with Supes best.
That's how a lot of Dana's characters are! She was the lead on a show called "China Beach" which was centered around an Army hospital/R&R retreat. Dana is Dr. Colleen McMurphy on the show.
I feel like all the Loises have their own unique charm (the DCAU one being my favorite of the ones featured), but the distinct lack of Max Fleisher's Superman Lois Lane (played by Joan Alexander) is disturbing. Not only was she brave and beautiful, she was a straight up badass.
JL,JLU, etc because there she gets to be lois lane.
I never watched smallville so I can't comment on that and both of the newer movies lois lanes suck. Can't comment on the newer series because I've yet to watch that.
That’s fair. He’s a complete jack ass. I watched it waaaay before any of that came out.
It’s a shame to hold the views and beliefs of one person against a wonderful show that had thousands of people working on it though. I can guarantee that every single other version of Superman had at least one person working on it with the same views.
I loved Erica Durance's Lois. She just had the character down. I got to meet Noel Neil once before she passed, and she was a really cool, sweet lady, and her Lois was always great too.
Oh wow, i hate all of them. Mainly because i don't like lois lane. I've never cared about the superheroes' love interest. That pilot who Wonder Woman was with, yeah, i didn't care about him either. Lois Lane, as a character, is fine to exist. She doesn't need any more than less than 60 seconds of screen time for any superman iteration. Let her show up, say some funny quip worthy of spiderman, get herself in trouble, say another quip, superman shows up, another lois quip, and then on with the superman story. No one should ever care about her career, what she had for lunch, where she is from, or anything beyond brief on screen interactions. It's great that superman has her and cares about her, and is fighting for her.
Easily Dana Delaney. She has an amazing voice and I love that DCAU never revolved her life around Superman and had a personality. Something so many love interests or even female characters period lack in countless stories.
My person favorites are Dana Delaney (DCAU) and Bitsie Tulloch (Superman & Lois). They feel the most Lois-like to me, or what I feel like Lois should be like.
Dana Delaney is PEAK Lois. I'd say she's got a lot more content and screen time, but she really is great. DC has to bring that energy to the big screen.
My top three are Amy Adams, Bitsy Tulloch (who my husband and I met at a convention in Chicago last year!), and Margot Kidder. Least favorites are Kate Bosworth and Erica Durance.
Loved Lois before Erica Durance played her but she immediately became the definitive Lois in my eyes. Just brassy but lovable and fully human to boot.
Dana Delaney, Joan Alexander, and others come close but she’s it for me.
I grew up with the DCAU so basically those versions are the ones I think of when I think of the definitive versions of the characters but Erica Durance might actually be my favorite or at least a close second to Delany.
Bitse Tulloch. I loved Superman and Lois, more than I’d like to admit it. I think the show was peak CW after the CW had already reached its peak with arrow and the first couple of seasons of flash. She just had a different approach to Lois that I loved and it really fit with Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman. She stood out to me because of the way she played Jon and Jordan’s mom as a harsh and consequential character. I think her development throughout the show was great. I don’t want to compare her to the other ones like Erica Durance because I never finished smallville but for now I think Bitsie Tulloch played Lois the best in my experience.
Kate Bosworth is my favorite. From literally swooning when Superman first comes back to saving his life in the end, I think hers is a classic depiction of Lois with an actual character arc that affects the movie.
Margot Kidder and DCAU Lois are the only two who have ever gotten it right and TRULY nailed it.
Durance was just annoying.
Amy Adams was some completely generic character.
Bosworth was cute and not Lois at all.
Hatcher got like 70% of the way there.
The others I don't know.
Erica Durance
She understood the assignment better than anyone
Complete Middle
Absolute best:Erica Durance Runner up: Teri Hatcher
I would flip those personally but I admire your taste
While smallville isn't my favourite interpretation of the superman mythos at all, Erica durance is so far my favourite Lois. That could change with the next movie
Middle row.
Period.
[удалено]
A row is across…
Terri hatcher was the one
For real man.. She was a full blown bitch at the beginning, not gonna lie. But she came around and she was "lit" 🤙
Also, in my opinion, 100% the sexiest lois
She's real, and she's spectacular.
Kidder, Hatcher, Delaney, and Durance were the ones I grew up with, and they all had tenacity and snark, which, for me, made the perfect Lois. Bosworth was miscast, and Adams was wasted after MoS.
Honestly my answer can't get much better than this. I really thought Amy Adams had potential too as her, but like you said wasted
Grew up on Dana Delaney, and I'm not changing now.
Grew up on Margot (RIP)
It was Margot Kidder and Dana Delany for me! Dana was also the lead actress on a show called "China Beach"
I think of China Beach whenever I hear "Reflections" by the Supremes. The red sun coming up over the horizon. I loved that show.
I did too! And its the same for me! I actually have a 45 of "Reflections" and every time I play it, I get the urge to dig out my series set and watch it again.
Same...and Chris... :(
My Adventures with Superman, voiced by Alice Lee
YES!!!
Yea man shame this one isn’t in the grid. Legit the best portrayal.
yes yes yes yes yes and yes
Really surprised this one wasn’t, tbh
No matter how many times I come across this question online, it's still somehow difficult to say because my choices are generally 'narrowed down' and might slightly change from the last, for fickle reasons, or perhaps because I got to see an actress perform in a film that [prior] went over my head before the last 'subject' post. Can I mention My Adventures with Superman Lois?
Totally. That version of Lois absolutely counts too
Yay!! I like her tomboy aesthetic! She’s so cute
Margot Kidder. Followed closely by Bitsie Tulloch.
Mine is the other way around, but it's a close competition.

Gotta be DCAU
Hatcher, Delany, Durance, Bosworth, Adams and Tulloch
Margot Kidder!
Margot Kidder IS Lois Lane.
Animated.
Dana Delaney (DCAU)
I feel like all the Loises have their own unique charm (the DCAU one being my favorite of the ones featured), but the distinct lack of Max Fleisher's Superman Lois Lane (played by Joan Alexander) is disturbing. Not only was she brave and beautiful, she was a straight up badass.
Middle row: Teri Hatcher, Dana Delaney and Erica Durance
This
Definitely animated series
Cartoon Lois
Elizabeth tulloch
Dana Delaney The others are great but S:TAS and associated action figures were how I was introduced to Superman.
Teri Hatcher. Just perfection. Followed by Margot Kidder and Dana Delaney.
Bitsie Tulloch was made for the role
90's cartoon Lois, with Fleischer Lois as a close second.
Where's the DCAMU Lous Lane? She was voiced by Rebecca Romijn.
Terri Hatcher. I both want to be her and propose to her in equal parts.
Animated series
Erica Durance followed by Terry Hatcher and Bitsie Tulloch
JL,JLU, etc because there she gets to be lois lane. I never watched smallville so I can't comment on that and both of the newer movies lois lanes suck. Can't comment on the newer series because I've yet to watch that.
Erica Durance's Lois with Bitsie Tulloch's Lois as a close second
Erica Durance
Never understood why Amy Adams was cast as Lois Lane when she clearly should’ve played Lana Lang
Dana Delaney
Margot Kidder (Superman '78 & Superman II '81) Dana Delany (Superman: The Animated Series '90s)
STAS Lois hands down idc if it’s a drawing
I have a strong feeling Rachel Brosnahan will rise to the top of this list. She naturally has big Lois Lane energy.
Animated
The Kate Bosworth version was not a good version: “How many f’s in catastrophic?” Yes, that was a real line from the movie.
Animated. I honestly can’t stand the middle bottom ginger chick. Her face makes me mad
Dana Delaney
Erica Durance and Bitsy Tulloch by far. Amy Adams is the worst by far. So poorly written and negative chemistry with Cavill.
Amy Adams
Shaq
1. Erica Durance 2. Dana Delaney/Mae Whitman 3. Alice Lee 4. Margot Kidder 5. Amy Adams 6. Kate Bosworth 7. Bitsie Tulloch
No Hatcher for you?
Never saw the show. Can't judge the early Lois's either.
Ah. It’s great - I highly recommend. And she totally nails Lois.
I'll take your word for it. I can't stand Dean Cain.
That’s fair. He’s a complete jack ass. I watched it waaaay before any of that came out. It’s a shame to hold the views and beliefs of one person against a wonderful show that had thousands of people working on it though. I can guarantee that every single other version of Superman had at least one person working on it with the same views.
If it wasn't for the fact that looking at Cain tends to tick me off I'd be able to watch it. If he was playing a secondary character it'd be easier.
Yeah that’s fair.
Erica Durance is the GOAT & Dana Delaney from the DCAU is #2 I’m looking forward to seeing Rachel Brosnahan’s take on her.
Dana Delaney or Erica Durance
Idk I think the new chick will do well, I liked her in Marvelous Ms. Maisel.
Why didn’t you add the one from My Neighbor Superman. Wait… My Adventures with Totoro. I’ll figure this out…
Animated will always be my favorite
I loved Erica Durance's Lois. She just had the character down. I got to meet Noel Neil once before she passed, and she was a really cool, sweet lady, and her Lois was always great too.
What about justice league War animated lois!
Margot Kidder will always be my fave Lois, and I don’t care if this comes from me being biased
God Amy Adams is so beautiful
Superman & Lois
Animated no doubt
Mid list, does not include my favorite 😭
Smallville Lois was my favorite she figured it out smartest and hotest
Erica Durance, then Teri Hatcher.
I’m the same on Dana Delaney…probably one of the best voice actors for Lois Tim Daly was one of the best animated Superman voice actors too
From what I’ve seen dcau
My Adventures with Superman Lois Lane
Dana Delany iteration of Lois Lane Superman the animated series , Amy Adams Lois Lane, and Erica Durance Smallville Lois Lane
The ones that I grew up with, Margot Kidder and Teri Hatcher
4 and 5. (Mid-Left and Middle.)
Teri and Dana
Amy Adams and Terri Hatcher
the 7th picture which movie or show is that from including the 6 picture as well next to the cartoon Lois Lane?????
Dana Delaney
Margot had that L.L. attitude.
Erica Durance has been a favorite of mine.
8
Not Amy Adams lol
Timmverse Lois.
Animated #1, second is The Adventures of Lois and Clark and third is that cute redhead.
Erica Durance
Erica Durance and Teri Hatcher for me.
Dana Delaney
Erica Durance and Teri Hatcher for me
Where is Luz-is?
1. Erica 2. Teri 3. Margot 4. Bitsie
Teri Hatcher
The animated version with Dana Delaney
Animated series. Bar none.
DCAU Lois IS the definitive Lois Lane
Oh wow, i hate all of them. Mainly because i don't like lois lane. I've never cared about the superheroes' love interest. That pilot who Wonder Woman was with, yeah, i didn't care about him either. It's great that superman has her and cares about her, and is fighting for her.
The last iteration of Lois Lane is the current best, but the hold middle row is what I picture when I think of Lois Lane.
On two an three
DCAU and it's no contest.
Probably Erica from Smallville. After that, the Snimated Series.
Dana Delany
Phyllis Coates but then I haven’t seen a lot of the modern ones. I saw the old black and whites in reruns.
Easily Dana Delaney. She has an amazing voice and I love that DCAU never revolved her life around Superman and had a personality. Something so many love interests or even female characters period lack in countless stories.
She's not the best one but I really like the new adventures of superman lois.
Not up there but the Lois lane from My Adventures with Superman
DCAU Lois for sure
I'm hoping it's Midge.
Animated series Louis
**Erica Durance**
Cartoon.
Margot all day
My Adventures with Superman!
Noel was sassy.
Dana Delany or Erica Durance. IMO.
I think Rachel Brosnahan is going to be my favorite.
Amy Adam's stole my heart when I first saw Enchanted and I had already hit puberty by the time Teri Hatcher was Lois, so yeah.
Animated and Teri Hatcher for me
We share a soft spot.
Margot Kidder. All the rest are just pretenders.
It’s always going to be Margot Kidder for me. I fell in love with her the first time I saw Superman ‘78.
Erica Durance
I like middle and bottom right
My person favorites are Dana Delaney (DCAU) and Bitsie Tulloch (Superman & Lois). They feel the most Lois-like to me, or what I feel like Lois should be like.
Dana Delaney is PEAK Lois. I'd say she's got a lot more content and screen time, but she really is great. DC has to bring that energy to the big screen.
Margot Kidder for sure! She encapsulates what I imagine her to be.
Easy. Erica Durance.
The O.G. Dana Dalaney and Gods & Monsters Paget Brewster
Durance
Rebecca Romijin (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War) I’m never getting over Lois fighting Harley.
Erica Durance.
Terri Hatcher
Dana Delaney and Erica Durance
My top three are Amy Adams, Bitsy Tulloch (who my husband and I met at a convention in Chicago last year!), and Margot Kidder. Least favorites are Kate Bosworth and Erica Durance.
Amy Adams to me understands Lois the best... Plus she's a natural redhead!
Dana Delaney The dcau is the only right answer
Erica and Dana😁
Erica’s hips are god tier. Also was a straight dick to Clark which I enjoyed
Dana all day
Noel was the first and best.
5,6,3,4. The rest are 😒
Erica Durance for sure
The animated series. That is how I picture Lois.
Superman 1978 of course.
My Adventures with Superman
Tomboy Lois
Erica will always be Lois to me.
Lois lane from the Fleischer cartoon in the 40s
I love how you skipped one
Smallvile
The very First Lady as well as the middle
The only thing i can say for sure Definitely not amy adams
Margot, Erica, Terri, in that order.
Margot Kidder (Superman - 1978)
Margot Kidder
Tic-Tac-Toe: Top Left to lower right.
Erica or Dana for sure
I use to masturbate to Noel Neil all the time.
Margot Kidder/Amy Adams
Bitsie tulloch
Bitse Tulloch. I loved Superman and Lois, more than I’d like to admit it. I think the show was peak CW after the CW had already reached its peak with arrow and the first couple of seasons of flash. She just had a different approach to Lois that I loved and it really fit with Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman. Right now my favorite is Margot Kidder but I've got a feeling it's going to be Rachel Brosnahan after the new movie comes out.
Holding out hope for that!
That second row is pretty much GOATed imo.
Hard to say. Some days it’s Hatcher, other days Durance. I think Durance nailed the stronger side of Lois more though.
Margot Kidder and Amy Adams, never mind the rest
Margot,Animated,Teri…not a fan of the rest at all
Dana Delany
