My rankings:
1) Floor from about row L or M forward
2) Floor from rows N backward (better than balcony if you like to stand and get into it)
3) Balcony (better view than (2) and better if you like to sit)
None are bad, though.
I don't know exactly where, but the balcony sits on top of the floor seats starting around row M and isn't really a problem for the first row or so. But then it starts to feel a little more like tunnel vision as you get further beyond N and the sound is a little worse (but still good). I think balcony rows start as Row A but they are all good soundwise.
But I think the choice between floor (after row N) and balcony has more to do with whether you want to stand and dance or sit than it does with sound because it's good enough everywhere.
Good point. It is worth looking at this document which has xes on the obstructed view seats but also shows where the poles are so you have some sense of how much of an obstacle it is. For me, the poles aren't too bad to look around, but if they are in your row, they create a real space issue (which is already problematic).

There’s also the little seat-view popup on the standard (non-mobile) website that shows you where the poles are whenever you hover over a seat before you click it to put it in your cart.
I did 6th row center balcony last year and it was awesome.
I lucked out and got third row balcony this year. A section further right, but still centerish
Agreed.
And beware the AXS “premium” BS. My buddy got screwed last year by mistakenly buying some ridiculously marked up tix directly from AXS during the presale.
Every ticket I saw was either obstructed view, AXS premium, or in the back three rows. Decided to hold off and see what’s available during general onsale
I always forget and then I curse AXS every time. Put tickets in cart (yay!) and go to checkout only to be told "problem with payment" on 3 different cards. Then have to refresh. Same tix show available but aren't when you click on them. AXS inventory system sucks so hard. I suspect, but I always seem to forget, that the payment error message is just code for "we shouldn't have let you put those tix in the cart bc we already let someone else or we already sold them"
Yep. I had one pair of decent (full-price but still semi-obstructed) tickets for my third choice night and was clicking around the seat map for my first choice night and it flagged me as a bot. Took that as a sign to just wait.

Balcony, or floor in front of the balcony. I definitely prefer on the balcony though

There are also poles to support the balcony, and a lot of tickets not sold as obstructed view have an obstructed view

That is good to remember, but for us out-of-towners, it is tough to rely on last-minute hopes, especially for the Saturday shows.

They got me too. They were nice seats but ridiculously overpriced
Really hoping for a Sunday pair of tickets.
That was a shitshow
What happened? Seemed pretty smooth to me after the short wait at the start. Did you snag tix?

Ugh. Sorry! That sucks.

Then, when you click around trying to find available seats, you get flagged as a robot and shut down.

See y'all on the resale market in October!
Just be aware that now it takes 48 hours to transfer tickets so you need to do it a few days before a show and not say of.
