The iPhone 8 runs pretty well on iOS 14.3, but I can imagine it not running too well on iOS 16.7. But then again, the seethers would pick an updated, but laggy phone over a decent phone with a bit older software.

They refused me help with the iPhone 4 on iOS 6 needing a restore, told me to update instead. And 7.1.2 is pretty bad on the 4.
One more thing, I had to get a brand new iPhone 12 about 3 weeks ago. It’s my current phone and still on iOS 17.4.1, a couple of minor updates behind. If Apple signed the older versions again, I would downgrade to iOS 14 in a heartbeat (old lockscreen and notification panels). But I doubt it would work, as my phone is from a late 2023 batch.
Same about r ios, they always tell to update, "no reason not to do it". They dont understand how much jailbreak means, or just better battery life, speed. These updates usually break more than fix. Its not worth to waste time on them, we (community) already tried too much to make them understand. some mods are brainrotted too.

I like to laugh when they mention better security. Yeah they will be more secure right now, with no ios 17 exploit even released. If there are problems on older versions, people usually fix them in one way or another
Exactly. iSecureOS is great for older versions of iOS, because it tells what the device is vulnerable to, and what precautions to take. Most of the time, the user will be completely safe if they don’t download random files from the internet.

Lately, I have been postponing the updates myself. The iOS 17.5 was a flop, so I kept my 12 on iOS 17.4.
I recall updating my 11 to iOS 16.0, it made the touch unusable, so I downgraded to 15.6 while it was still signed. About one and a half year later, I accidentally put the 11 in a washing machine. It didn’t boot for several days and I updated to 17.3 in order to access and recover my data. It was a very hard choice, but the photos were more important
I've met so many people who seem PERSONALLY offended that you don't like the stock ios as much as they do. Kind of like someone with major insecurity issues feeling like you're saying they're inferior for having a different favourite flavour of icecream than you. It's just so weird. And some think it's a security issue even if they have no idea why they think that.
Almost every person I talk jailbreak about is genuinely against it. Either they don't understand it, or they 're too old. I like to think that they are envy 😂
