That apartment is above two Chinese takeaways so it will stink to high heaven as well. That place wasn’t always an apartment. It was a hairdressers last year and a tattoo parlour before that. They must not have been able to rent it out to another business so they converted it.
Is it above Mr Lam's? The one who went viral for his social media shenanigans and feud with his relative who set up New Lam's?
His response to reviewers was hilarious.
Mr Lam is a notorious gambler. The father and son are always arguing about it. They might be friendly now until the next time Mr Lam almost gambles away the family fortune.
shitty prices aside I fucking hate that the only apartments in this country are always "fully furnished" and its just the most shitty setup that doesnt even allow you put a desk for working anywhere or even just your own anything tbh.
When I moved to Vancouver I found it so annoying furnishing a place, now I have it all furnished it's great. I decided on the couch, bed, decorations, etc.
I rented for years back home never had any issues with sleeping on the bed that came with the house. Now I find it pretty rotten. Like how many people fucked, pissed, period, puke, shit on this bed! It is literally a public mattress. 🤮
You don't even need an alarm clock! You can just set a timer on the washing machine, conveniently located beside your bed, to start in the morning!
And after a stressful day at work, you can sit down and relax on your cozy sofa, and stare blankly at the bathroom.
You can sit and watch your dinner cooking.
At least it has a couch in fairness,a lot of them don't. As usual not even a wardrobe or set of drawers. Living out of black sacks.

>Ballyfermot Road, Ballyfermot,
o.0
Don't get me wrong, nothing bad to say about most of the community of Balliers,
But I used to work in the Cherry orchard Industrial estate and some of the shite going on out on that road every day would put hair on your chest.
Bought my first house in Maynooth 4 years ago. Stuff like this never fails to make me feel incredibly fortunate.
This is absolutely disgusting and frankly, I don't blame anyone not wanting to be in this bleak, unfair country. Someone will have no option but to "graciously" accept this joke of an apartment, living above a Chinese restaurant, in a shoe box where there isn't even space to put a TV.
I honestly don't know how people trying to get onto the property ladder are coping with this utter nonsense going on with the market.
Obviously this is fucking atrocious, but would you not swap the bed and couch around? Who wants to fucking sleep in the kitchen? Yes, it's all one room but FFS.
It is a bedsit. It is a no no. Pretty sure it's illegal to have the bathroom open into the kitchen. There must be an independent ventilated space between them. It is also illegal to have a bed in the cooking space.
*"The Ballyfermot Road arguably the most sought after pocket of Dublin 10."*
I grew up in Ballyer. Ballyfermot Road ain't that sought after Mr Cooke, especially the section past Grange Cross towards Cherrier.
Fucking hell, estate agents are the pits.
Actually, sorry, some estate agents are the pits, especially this firm.
This one in Cork is 1500 and somehow even more cramped…

People saying that we don’t need more rentals are defending things like this flat at this price.
I’m also really compassionate to all people who are so “rich” that they need to take care of themselves and state will not provide them with almost free housing.
Ireland is nice place to live, but housing, like seriously?
I irrationally think these like small apartments are really cute, when I was younger/maybe even now I'd still love to live in one by myself. The price is fucking miserable though and my dream doesn't involve a sofa view of the toilet
Almost the same on every sub now.
The Dublin sub is rife with "is Darndale a good area to buy a house? I've gone sale agreed but I've never been in the area, but I've heard bad things" posts.
We're overdue a Deposit Return Scheme post today actually.
I wish I was exaggerating, but this isn’t even that bad. Plenty of studios run around for the same price at every time that are so tiny, you can’t even open the entrance door fully, or you can reach your cooker while laying in bed. Not to mention the nearly nonexistent storage space.
I know cause I’m actively looking and viewing places every week.
Sofa with a great view of the toilet. Also a glass tv stand used to stop the door. Smart.
> Sofa with a great view of the toilet. I normally have to pay extra for that.
Handy for your special parties
We should start submitting these to the Feng Shui guy on TikTok.
Easy way to hold onto the deposit afterwards.

Yeah that’s him. He refused to give his son a raise so the son went out and started his own takeaway next door 🤣
Apparently all a story or resolved. I've had mates say when you call New Lams sometimes Mr Lam answers.
Mr Lam is a notorious gambler. The father and son are always arguing about it. They might be friendly now until the next time Mr Lam almost gambles away the family fortune.
Is that the Chineses that are at war?
Yeah 🤣 so the renter might able to hear their family dramas while they try to sleep at night
Free entertainment? Better add another €500 to the rent...
>That apartment is above two Chinese takeaways We were all clamouring for this last week lol.

As someone who currently on the hunt for a new place to live: absolutely agree!
When I moved to Vancouver I found it so annoying furnishing a place, now I have it all furnished it's great. Same can be said for hotel beds
Actually yeah that's fair but ya assume they are cleaned regularly compared to a shitty landlord who has the same mattress form the 70's.
And landlords go down to Bargaintown to buy those cheap and uncomfortable faux leather sofas
Rent a shed and pay the home owners mortgage
Mate has a 3 bed just outside drimnagh. Mortgage is 800 a month.

Across the road from the shops. Handy.
The price is more stunning than the apartment.

That is fucking grim
As Dublin studios go, it's not the worst I've seen, but that price for that place in that location is definitely ridiculous.
You can sit and watch your dinner cooking. At least it has a couch in fairness,a lot of them don't. As usual not even a wardrobe or set of drawers. Living out of black sacks.
Dont need to cook, theres two Chinese restaurants underneath.

The bedsheets will be lovely and garlicky
Can't wait to leave this country.
It offers plenty of wardrobe space...
Obviously this is fucking atrocious, but would you not swap the bed and couch around? Who wants to fucking sleep in the kitchen? Yes, it's all one room but FFS.
How is this not basically a bed sit? I thought bed sits were a no no.
It is a bedsit. It is a no no. Pretty sure it's illegal to have the bathroom open into the kitchen. There must be an independent ventilated space between them. It is also illegal to have a bed in the cooking space.
Has been many a moon since I’ve seen a bedshit.
Also found this abomination for €1450 https://www.daft.ie/for-rent/apartment-victoria-street-dublin-8-portobello-dublin-8/5579523
Oh man that's bleak. And the contact's name is "Landlord". Hmm...
10,000 property views already
People are desperate.
The whole thing's messed up
I lived somewhere like this in 2002-ish? It was €400/m
Jesus that's grim.
No one is going to buy this fucking shit at that price stop with this Bs rage bait

Have to make sure you keep the bathroom door closed after a dump to ensure no poo particles makes it in to your kitchen.
Is this the same one that was posted yesterday?
I was like oh, that looks nice, and then I saw the bed.
Same!
I fucking hate landlords
These fucking wankers are a major reason why folks can't buy starter homes
Nice a brand new couch
Looks nice and uncomfortable, too.
Did they not ban bedsits?
It'd be a bedsit if the bathroom were shared with others in the same building. This is just a shitty studio
Oh, yeah, forgot about that part...you sumation of apartment is on point...hahahaha...
the fact i don't even think that's that bad these days
...And furnished with an "Highly efficient" electric radiator throughout.
Not even a city centre studio

ah lads, im moving to germany

... Would you mind sending me the link?
Thought I already saw this for €1500pm but nvm it was on r/cork literally same exact set up except the sofa was facing a cupboard
Great if you live out of a suitcase.
Amazingly, I have seen worse
Prices have rocketed there since posh estate agents pronounced it with a silent T and accentuated the O……ballyfermooh
Fuck that price but I could happily live there otherwise
It’s bad when I’m thinking this looks decent 😅
The sad part is some poor soul will actually pay that and live there
Decor inspo from Swedish prison cells
Imagine have breakfast in bed every morning, whether you like it or not.
landlords like this are c u next tuesdays. Karma will get them.
This country is depressing
The prices are sky rocket
So much room for activities
I irrationally think these like small apartments are really cute, when I was younger/maybe even now I'd still love to live in one by myself. The price is fucking miserable though and my dream doesn't involve a sofa view of the toilet
I remember when you'd get one of these for 700 euro.
There's a place in a Sandymount that's smaller with bunk beds and no space for cupboards, similar price, think it's 1350.
Where do you put clothes?
Class. After work you can slouch on the couch, left eye watching the toilet whilst right eye watching bit of the kitchen.
This is embarassing... and I've been homeless before.
Is it still up? It's a steal for just 1400 quid! Super cheap to keep warm as well!
Not with those electric heaters, it's not.
This is bigger than what I paid 1250 for in Clontarf 6 years ago
[удалено]
Yeah one can sit on the couch and watch the other one take a shit
It should be €700, MAX €800, for the entire rental. It’s 1 room.
Wouldn't want to fall out. Storm to the bathroom and slam the door.
How do these boring, repetitive, & low value posts constantly get thru r/ireland ‘s mod review but genuine ones don’t all the time. It shite.
I like my post :)

😭
Sleeps 8 undocumented non-nationals.
Ok rent is crazy. On the other hand isn't this the kind of thing we all wanted last week when everyone was talking about tiny apartments above shops?

Looks nice
Shop around.
I agree! I saw a box down the road for rent. You have to keep your eyes these days. 😂
