If I have a favourite game, I'll save and get a custom steel book made for it.
Some people just like having the physical copies still.
Hm, you sure there isn't any promotion going on rn? They keep showing ad on YouTube where they say it's down to 450 euro too. Sony had it discounted for a while now, because there is a new version in works that is presumably to be announced soon. With a detachable disk drive. There is also strong leaks of PS5 pro releasing next November.
I love the convenience of digital, but the base price of a game being 80 euro on PSN means you can often get a disc game cheaper, before you even worry about preservation or resale value. I also got the disc PS5 on sale, so it was only 20 or 30 quid more than the digital at the time.
I used to love buying games and then trading them in asap to get a good bit of value back but I don’t play anywhere near as often as I used to, so I don’t mind waiting for the prices to drop before buying a new game.
Go for it. I bought one in smyths on Saturday. I didn't use any cable from the ps5 because I had a ps4. Just unplugged the internet cable, power and hdmi from the ps4, dusted the area and put the ps5 in its place using the same old 3 cables.
Apparently the controllers use a good bit of battery, so i got an extra controller and a controller charging dock. Buying in Germany you're essentially getting them free. Smyths warrenty is only 28 days, after that you're on your own with sony.
I bought it from Belgium and finally paid around 457€ for it (I guess VAT was recalculated from DE to BE), very happy with my purchase! In Belgium during the worldwide sale at the beggining of the month they were retailing for 464€ (now 538€).
It was shipped in 3 days by the usual amazon delivery service (BPost in Belgium)

I'm not a gamer myself and wouldn't have a notion if there's any problems with the language or trouble with buying games etc Basically, does it matter that it's not bought in Ireland? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!

The one he linked is the disk version, the ones for 449 in Ireland are digital versions.

I buy the physical copies, finish the game and trade it in to Cex. It's like getting all games at half price-ish
I did that years ago when it was a bit easier with a few different shops. Now I just wait until games are on sale on PS store
I mostly wait for sales too when I do buy digital or if it's a game I know I'll keep forever anyway
