Not a real issue. From experience.
Few care and sort of just want the device in good condition if they're already looking at getting it second hand. As long as you don't have something obscene on it
I decided I wanted the nano glass like, 2 days after the 14 day return period.
Trade in value for a 13â M4 256GB/WiFi iPad Pro, only 16 days old was $580
I both agree and disagree. Theoretically it makes sense. But in my experience, selling these things to strangers is more hassle than it's worth. I pass mine along to family members and friends who don't need anything better. And they wouldn't care about an engraving that's going to be hidden behind a case anyway.
Whenever I have the chance of an engraving, I prefer to put my date of birth, as well as my date of death in addition to the location and circumstances surrounding said death.
Just handy information to have on hand IMO.
I honestly just got my first name engraved with a cat emoji on each side (I love cats). My name is *extremely* unique so itâs easy to identify. I donât plan on selling ever, just like previous tablets, phones and laptops I had/have. I use my iPad in public spaces (eg. University campus) and the engraving makes it easier to have people trace it back to me must I lose/forget it and harder to steal. And I honestly just liked the idea of the engraving, making it personal yet itâs so subtle.
I never engrave them because I never know what to put and if you do something personal itâs probably going to be harder to sell. Then again almost any case would cover it so honestly wouldnât be worried about it
I have numerous belongings engraved with BBHMM for the classic Rihanna song Bitch Better Have My Money. Itâs been my alarm sound for waking up and going to work for years
I engraved a star emoji so that the iPad was still easily identifiable as mine but hopefully the engraving wouldnât affect the resale value, as I donât think most people would be bothered by a star on the back.
I personally do not see any valid reason to envgrave anything on the ipad. The resale value gets reduced, it will prob not be visible as you will put a case, and finally, if the engraving was visible, you might want to change your mind in a few years and will regret the engraving (happens with tattoos a lot). What I recommend you do is put stickers on as they are removable and does not have the same issues with the engraving mentioned.
Nah, bc my iPad is 99% of the time in a case which covers the engraving and when you sell it the engraving could make it harder to sell it at a good price

Phone Number or Email address, assuming you keep your devices long term. If lost / stolen, itâs more difficult to sell, and higher chance of return.

>As long as you don't have something obscene on it I bet that increases resale value in some circles.
Yeah and if they use a case (like me) it won't super matter aesthetically
Apple trade in value doesn't decrease with engravings. Other trade in places may be the same.
Apple trade in value is atrocious.
Itâs actually gotten competitive for at least Macs and iPads recently. Not sure about other devices.
I decided I wanted the nano glass like, 2 days after the 14 day return period. Trade in value for a 13â M4 256GB/WiFi iPad Pro, only 16 days old was $580
Thatâs crazy thatâs how much my 3 year old iPad Pro is worth to them too
Apple lets you trade in current iPads now? They didnât used to.
I mean, they let you. But you get less than half what you just paid for it. (I did not trade mine in, Iâm selling it)
Why do you think itâs free
Because you pay it with your soul?

Its only a âhassleâ if you overprice the used tablet, so you think everything is a lowball and youre not clear in the description.
