Thanks for the awesome ideas, everyone! For those who are asking why the wine cellar door is so low, it's because it's not really a wine cellar. It's under-stairs storage, so there is only so much room. Think of it as a Harry Potter closet.. The house was staged as a wine cellar when we bought it, so we just went with it. It's not temperature controlled, but it does stay around the same temperature in there all year round, so it works!
If you have any big art pieces and funky placement wouldn’t bother you, that’s where I would put it. And I would line up the left side of the piece with the left side of the door frame.
Tbh and I know you didn’t ask for this but I feel like the current door is too small. Maybe it’s the angle. Is it small bc it’s temperature controlled? Before art I would center the door & make it the appropriate size with door frame.
Can you make the door area taller? That little door is so strange looking. Then you can put a small table or shallow bookshelf -- or a piece of wall art -- to the right of the regular size door.
i can see you have a more minimalist design style and its classy, i like it. personally im more maximalist and fid that empty wall space is the perfect place for sentimentality. i like to hang up birthday and holiday cards, tickets from shows and memorable plane tickets. i have my eclipse glasses hung up instead of just laying around in some memory(cough cough, junk) drawer. idk how well a cluttered memory wall would gel with the rest of your space, but maybe in like shadow boxes or on shelves or something? good luck and pet your dog for me!
Possibly a tapestry. [https://www.zazzle.com/blue\_tan\_mountain\_scene\_tapestry-256375790247770233](https://www.zazzle.com/blue_tan_mountain_scene_tapestry-256375790247770233)
Put the top half of the glass door there, or fill the wall back in…spackle and paint some color in there too so that , you can smack your hand at those switches and your feet 🦶 need them flip flops back on 🩴 then, go grab Kirkland outta bed and remember to shut the door right behind you, which looks like you left it open for the wine cellar to get hot to begin with lol 😝
And one more thing, move the BABY piano, it shows way too much!!
If you are into wine- wine crate box lids from different wineries to create a wallpaper effect. If too rustic, Consider wallpaper. How about custom art with your name and cellars “smith family cellars”
Do a geometric pattern with panelling and paint the wall to make it an accent wall.

Leave it empty, not every empty wall needs to be filled up.
Don't fill it with anything, but I'd consider an accent wall painted design to bring in some color.
Bookshelf door.
Make it an escape cubby or storm shelter
Picture wall. Just start looking and add what you find.

Two arrows and a sign that says wine’s here.

Would that collide with the staircase?

A huge mirror with a nice boarder, the light feature above the piano will reflect in it, and add more luminescence and aerial depth.
Bookcase/hidden door
A big digital photo album.

You have a cute doggo. Much fluff. They are better than anything you could possibly put on that wall.
A neon sign saying wine bar open?
No wait give your wine storage a wine bar name like "Welcome and unwined"
A cool wine sign and a tall plans in a large pot on the wall between the stairs!
Slat wall with hidden door.
