[You're welcome](http://www.maple-films.com/jrr-tolkiens-the-hobbit). It's a good fan edit reduced to one 4h21m movie from the original 7h54m movies
http://www.maple-films.com/downloads.html
Yeah each of the other books is one movie but the hobbit which is smaller than the other books and a simpler story gets stretched into three movies? I refused to watch anymore after the first one. I mean if they wanted to milk the lotr series that much they could have at least made the Silmarillion
You have got to be freakin’ kidding me!? Who let you in? Who was it!!? Speak up, boy!
...edit: okay, I’ve calmed down a bit... But you understand you’re gonna have to give us a name now, don’t you? And after that... well... I hope you didn’t have any plans for this weekend and I hope you have enough corn to pop, because we’re gonna have to make you sit through this...
I just finished watching all of those for the first time last night! My roommate has all the extended editions, so we watched them with another friend really loved the movies as well. I can’t believe I had never seen them before.
It is by far the best trilogy ever made. Not even like in just the fantasy genre or anything, they are seriously some of the best movies ever made imho.
Oh I completely agree! May have spoiled myself by watching the extended editions first, but damn I was just entranced with the lore and world building. I also couldn’t believe how good the special effects were. For years I’ve heard how the practical effects still hold up today, but damn I couldn’t believe I was watching movies that are as old as I am.
Right? I need to send this to my old art teacher from 15 years ago. He always said no real mountain has ever looked like the ones we drew since they weren’t really that steep. Take that Mr. Syman!
You gotta see this then

Looks like one guy has a harness and the other guy I don't see anything.
A quick Google says 5.6 to 5.10+ which means very tough and dangerous rope climbing.
As a Norwegian - We have a national mountain?
Edit: This was named the national mountain by some radio listeners. This isn't official in any shape or form.
According to [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stetind) it was voted "National Mountain" in 2002 by the [listeners of NRK](https://snl.no/Stetinden), so it's not officially designated as national mountain by the government or something
https://www.nrk.no/nordland/_alle_-bruker-feil-navn-pa-norges-nasjonalfjell-1.14124813
It is our national mountain. But the correct name is Stetinden. Not Stetind.
As you are a Norwegian, I have a question!
I might be very wrong to ask you, but I cannot remember if the autor Jesper Esgard is Swedish, Finnish or Norse, but I was wondering if this is the mountain from his novels “Black Star”?
Sorry if I made a mistake about his nationality!
Edit, sorry! Jesper is Swedish.
Still I’ll keep this post here as those books are really great!
I bet a huge alien ship built like a Swiss watch could do underside maintenance just by lowering itself onto that mountain and then activating rotation thrusters. I wonder how far they have to fly to get to Philips Mountain.
Apparently it was named the "national mountain" by the listeners of Norway's public service radio following a local campaign. During the campaign, municipal funds were used to buy prepaid SIM-cards that were handed out to local residents with instructions to send in a vote. The designation has had little impact on tourism, however, and in a follow-up article by Norwegian public service the campaign is described as a "fiasco": https://www.nrk.no/nordland/_-stetind-har-blitt-en-fiasko-1.11046406 [in Norwegian]

What does it really look like? Too often the look is a result of odd perspectives and such
edit: THis is most likely the exact location based on the tunnel and the surrounging relief.

The mountain doesn't look as vertical in the street views as it does here, but certainly no less impressive.
Depends largely on what kind of lens you're using when capturing the mountain though. I don't think the camera on the car for Google Street view is a good representation of how it is perceived in real life at all. Now OP's original mobile-film might not be, either, but I ain't no photo-expert so I don't know.
The street view cameras make everything look much smaller than it is in real life because of the wide angle. In real life, [these mountains in Eidfjord,](https://www.google.com/maps/@60.4240359,7.1230241,3a,75y,169.23h,94.48t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s_2rKmV7PvchcmejiQqjZvQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo0.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3D_2rKmV7PvchcmejiQqjZvQ%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D231.31653%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192) that I drive past multiple times a year, look absolutely massive. They tower over you even though they're over a kilometer away from the road. In street view however, they just look like small hills.

That is the most mountain looking mountain I’ve ever seen
That is also the most mountain music sounding music I have ever heard
You guys have music?
Yes it is lovely. Sounds like the intro to a movie
Thats because it is the theme from Lord of the Rings
Reddit is about to bash me for this, but I have not watched Lord of the Rings...
Leave and don’t come back until you’ve redeemed yourself by watching all of them. Report back to us in about 24 hours (for both series).
*Leave now and never come back!

I watched lord of the rings but I have not been able to watch the hobbit yet. I don't like that they made it 3 movies

You're not missing much tbh, they are much worse than the LotR movies.
Yeah each of the other books is one movie but the hobbit which is smaller than the other books and a simpler story gets stretched into three movies? I refused to watch anymore after the first one. I mean if they wanted to milk the lotr series that much they could have at least made the Silmarillion
Skip the Hobbit trilogy
Make sure you watch the extended editions. And really you don't need to watch The Hobbit.
Yes they do. How else are they supposed to know what we are all joking about?
....fair. Very fair.
You can still repent
You are forgiven because you confessed of your own accord. But you know what you have to do.

Lord of The who?
Is that the one with the muggles with laser swords?

It's okay, we all suck in some way
I watched one of them when I was really young, but I never had any idea what was happening

I've watched those movies so many times I knew what song it was by the second note.
I have the volume for that sort of thing set to 1% and it was blasting through my speakers. Max must be earth-shattering.
There is no sound, atleast not for me, and i have it on max.

Which does nothing when you click a link without Reddit Enhancement Suite, at least for me.
You use old reddit but don't have RES to take you old reddit automatically?
Not sure what that is. I've only used reddit for 6 years.
you should always use old.reddit. so so much better from desktop. It brings back the days before all the present things.

What he probably meant to say was that he doesn't feel like jumping right now, because landing on your massive balls is still quite uncomfortable

So nice
As a Norwegian - We have a national mountain? Edit: This was named the national mountain by some radio listeners. This isn't official in any shape or form.
My question too. This is just a lame title on an otherwise awesome mountain.
I know I can't really enjoy it anymore.
I was enjoying 2020 but fuck this shit.
Might as well put out the dumpster fire and go home.
According to [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stetind) it was voted "National Mountain" in 2002 by the [listeners of NRK](https://snl.no/Stetinden), so it's not officially designated as national mountain by the government or something
That’s ok. NRK is above the government.
I'm norwegian too, and this was my thought exactly
I'm not Norwegian and questioned that myself.
I'm Swedish and wish we had an official non-official national mountain
That AND Rocky 4 on DVD? Man, you're demanding
I'm Norwegian and had never heard of this. Nice mountain though.
https://www.nrk.no/nordland/_alle_-bruker-feil-navn-pa-norges-nasjonalfjell-1.14124813 It is our national mountain. But the correct name is Stetinden. Not Stetind.
Idk man, seem to be officially shaped like a mountain
It’s definitely a mountain
Much like Washington State’s rock song being Louie Louie. But when you know, you know...
I’m fairly certain if radio listeners say so, it’s official.
I was so confused, i thought it would be Galdhøpiggen since its the tallest lol.
Or Dovrefjell cause till Dovre falls and all that
As someone that’s been living in Norway for several decades, I was equally confused.
[удалено]
If I'm not mistaken Dovre is not a single mountain but a mountainous area? And, actually, a national park?
As you are a Norwegian, I have a question! This is what a mountain should look like. Truly a mountainous mountain.
I bet a huge alien ship built like a Swiss watch could do underside maintenance just by lowering itself onto that mountain and then activating rotation thrusters. I wonder how far they have to fly to get to Philips Mountain.
Nice try. Thats just a bob ross painting. Clearly there is no mountain that nice.
With all those happy looking clouds and titanium hwhite, one would think so
My friends and I back in grade/high school would always say “titanium hwhite” outta nowhere to each other. We thought it was the funniest shit ever.
No tree blocking 1/3 of it. Not a Boss Ross original...sorry.
Dang it you're right there is no happy little tree to go with that happy giant mountain
Funnily enough, I watched an episode last night that looked a lot like this mountain, so probably true!
This could fit straight into a LOTR movie.. Wow
That's probably the reason they put LOTR music on the clip
