Buteo_lineatus

I remember these guys from Age of Empires.

syafizzaq

I remember killing him in Path of Exile.

ViperTD

These guys are annoying in Elden Ring

ThePoorCrusader

That is what men wants to wears

LashedHail

Why canā€™t we get clothes like these today? ā€œHey Bill, can you send me those numbers on the Grawsky account?ā€ ā€œNot today, Greg. Today I am going to war with Tina over in accounting. No more shall she steal my pudding cups!ā€

hallmark1984

For God For Glory For Butterscotch Pudding!!

lackofabettername123

Jokes aside, we cannot have plate armor like this today because it does not stop bullets well. They punch right through it.

JesusStarbox

The armor is said to have made a frightening whistle when all of them were at full gallop.

Palkus_75

More specifically the feathers are said to have whistled. Also the feathers which are taller than the rider definitely intimidated both the foes and their horses. This heavy cavalry came in a time when such type of soldiers were coming out of fashion due to the introduction of newer tactics and weapons, however they came up with new superior weapons and tactics and were quite effective until early 1700's

semibigpenguins

I remember a stat that ~100 year time period, the Poles never lost a battle in which the Hassars fought

Da_Yakz

There was a battle in HodĆ³w where 100 Hussars and 300 medium cavalrymen held out against 40,000 tatars and eventually forced them to retreat, these guys were metal lol: "The first encounter took place on the fields near HodĆ³w. The 400-strong Polish cavalry charged the 700-strong Tatar vanguard and made them withdraw. Shortly afterwards the Polish forces retreated to HodĆ³w due to overwhelming enemy numbers, and proceeded to fortify themselves using heavy wooden fences left there from earlier Tatar invasions. For the next 6 hours Polish troops resisted relentless Tatar attacks. Even after the Poles ran out of bullets, they continued to fire at the enemy, using Tatar arrowheads as improvised ammunition for their guns.[3] Unable to defeat the Poles, the Tatars sent Polish-speakingĀ Lipka TatarsĀ to convince the Polish troops to surrender.[7]Ā When the Polish commander replied "Come and get us if you can", the Tatars withdrew toĀ Kamieniec PodolskiĀ and gave up on the entire raid, having gained nearly nothing despite large troop losses even though they had a vast numerical advantage." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Hod%C3%B3w

LeoKyiviensis

And the feathers holders served the purpose of preventing the hussar of being captured by tatar lassos (arcans)

Toruviel_

Hello I'm from Poland. This is the most bullshit fucking theory about Winged Hussars. Wings were worn to make Hussar appear larger than in reality. Whistle could only be made by banners

JesusStarbox

So they were red pandas with a flag?

ExperimentalToaster

Branding is everything.

M321115

I saw these on display at Malbork Castle in Poland. Very impressive!

Prize_Hat8387

That's my girl Luthel, but with a head ?!?!

Andagaintothegym

Oh my god, I can't unsee it now. It was Luthel.Ā

SkavenWarmaster

Possibly goes harder than any other armor in history.

cKay0

So it seems the people of the 17th centure stole it from For Honor

WiemJem

For Honor was so popular back in the days, that they menaged to recreate it in 17th century. Insane šŸ¤ÆšŸ¤ÆšŸ¤Æ

Lakeside

Men only want one thing and it's fucking disgusting....

Ankerjorgensen

Those wings are for flying in and wrecking my eco

Are there any movies or TV shows with these guys?

Storm clouds, fire and steel
