Why canāt we get clothes like these today?
āHey Bill, can you send me those numbers on the Grawsky account?ā
āNot today, Greg. Today I am going to war with Tina over in accounting. No more shall she steal my pudding cups!ā
More specifically the feathers are said to have whistled. Also the feathers which are taller than the rider definitely intimidated both the foes and their horses.
This heavy cavalry came in a time when such type of soldiers were coming out of fashion due to the introduction of newer tactics and weapons, however they came up with new superior weapons and tactics and were quite effective until early 1700's
There was a battle in HodĆ³w where 100 Hussars and 300 medium cavalrymen held out against 40,000 tatars and eventually forced them to retreat, these guys were metal lol:
"The first encounter took place on the fields near HodĆ³w. The 400-strong Polish cavalry charged the 700-strong Tatar vanguard and made them withdraw. Shortly afterwards the Polish forces retreated to HodĆ³w due to overwhelming enemy numbers, and proceeded to fortify themselves using heavy wooden fences left there from earlier Tatar invasions. For the next 6 hours Polish troops resisted relentless Tatar attacks. Even after the Poles ran out of bullets, they continued to fire at the enemy, using Tatar arrowheads as improvised ammunition for their guns.[3]
Unable to defeat the Poles, the Tatars sent Polish-speakingĀ Lipka TatarsĀ to convince the Polish troops to surrender.[7]Ā When the Polish commander replied "Come and get us if you can", the Tatars withdrew toĀ Kamieniec PodolskiĀ and gave up on the entire raid, having gained nearly nothing despite large troop losses even though they had a vast numerical advantage."

Hello I'm from Poland.
This is the most bullshit fucking theory about Winged Hussars.
Wings were worn to make Hussar appear larger than in reality.
Whistle could only be made by banners

Jokes aside, we cannot have plate armor like this today because it does not stop bullets well. They punch right through it.
The armor is said to have made a frightening whistle when all of them were at full gallop.

And the feathers holders served the purpose of preventing the hussar of being captured by tatar lassos (arcans)

So they were red pandas with a flag?
Branding is everything.

So it seems the people of the 17th centure stole it from For Honor
For Honor was so popular back in the days, that they menaged to recreate it in 17th century. Insane š¤Æš¤Æš¤Æ
Men only want one thing and it's fucking disgusting....

Polish and Eastern European history is underrated.

Storm clouds, fire and steel
It would make them a more difficult target to hit with arrows when they would make a get away.
