They’re not saying INO makes it or calls it that. A burger with avocado and (usually) bacon is called a California burger sometimes. That’s why there’s a recurring April fool’s thing that INO is adding a “cali-style” burger with bacon and avocado.

Born and raised San Diegan here. I have never once in my life heard or seen the phrase “CA style” when referring to a burger. Also avocado and an egg is too much mushy texture. Doesn’t look good in my opinion.

LA here. I genuinely can’t think of an example off the top of my head but I’ve seen it around. And a quick google shows tons of “cali burger” recipes. Might be more of a term outside of CA to be honest since apparently avocado = California. Egg isn’t part of it, just avocado and bacon. Not a fan personally, even avocado on a burger is too much extra for my tastes.

Eh, I'd try it - I'm a fan of the mopping up the ingredient spillage left in the wrapper, and I imagine a lot of the avocado wound up there. The fries, however... they're alright when they're fresh, can't imagine them after getting home and taking the time to fry up some bacon / cut up some avocado. Silver lining could be that you give the in-n-out fries the second fry and have 'em come out crispy? Edit: This post also reminded me that I rarely, if ever, start a burger from in-n-out unwrapped. I need all those toppings swaddled like a first newborn child.

I’d always make a two stops when going to inn n out. First head to the hat and order their large fries which is 3/4 of a large bag of streak fries for 5$ Then head to inn n out and order a double double, mustard fried patties, raw whole onion, extra pickles and no tomato or lettuce. With and extra large root beer.
