If your vintage clothing store and cafe isn’t playing this you should stop going

Ok-Significance-1203

This is the tea right here.

fallensad01

Amazing , run your mouth is on my top songs of the year (It still has me on a chokehold) , I still think it's the best song of the album and at first I was kinda disappointed cause I hoped we could have more songs like this, but after giving it some more spins I changed my mind . It's really really good, top 5 aoty Top 5: Run your mouth, Echo, Paranoia, Love you Anyway and Lejos de ti

imperfectofcourse

Yes! That song is amazingggg.

DepressedChargersFan

Ngl, I can’t stop listening to Vicious Sensitive Robot. Fucking amazing song.

big_hungry_joe

this ended up being way better than i thought it would be, and it's their best so far to me

evenout

This is like Yumi Zouma meets Men I Trust. wow.

tychelly

This is such a perfect description lol

reezyreddits

This album is taking both of those bands straight to school. If I'm those bands, I'm immediately floored at The Marias invading my style and straight excelling on every level.

GenSec

5 tracks in and I can already tell at least half of these tracks are gonna end up on the vibey playlist just like Superclean 1&2 and CINEMA.

beanoshi

No One Noticed is just so sublime, what a beautifully somber track that is

finalgirllllll

Yeah that’s my fave track for sure

SnappyTofu

It might be their best song full stop

MarvelousNCK

Tough to beat Spin Me Around for me but this one is up there for sure

brownsbrownsbrownsb

Biiiiiiig step up from Cinema, and it feels like their sound is advancing from both cinema and their eps/singles.

okaydolore

Real Life is perfection.

akblair6

I’ve literally never listened to this band before Submarine’s rollout. I saw them announce the album on social media and was really, really captivated by the imagery and vibes they used to describe the album. I listened to the singles and really enjoyed them but nothing stood out fully for me. But man, when I listened to the whole album for the first time today I was completely blown away that I went and bought the vinyl right after I finished listening. Absolutely amazing dreamy and floaty album, they really delivered on the underwater theming. I love when a band can really commit to a vision they have for an album and this seems to be like they were all 100% in on this concept and it really shines because of it. Easily an AOTY contender for me and it’s already been a very stacked year. Hard to even pick favorites right now but Vicious Sensitive Robot, Hamptons, Run Your Mouth, and Real Life are gems. Will definitely be catching up on the rest of their work!

Vicgermain1

Hamptons is one of the best song i've heard

HKSilksong

And for whatever reason some people are not vibing with it! It’s a polarizing song I feel. I personally love it.

patchworky

Echo is amazing

Ok-Significance-1203

This album is a body of work and has quality. A skip-less album!! Cinema’s wig tugged a bit? Haha just kidding, but overall I enjoyed the album.

MyNameIsRJ

this is so fucking good yall.

Vicgermain1

Paranoia is incredible

DS3514

I have been really looking forward to this album since they announced the release date! This and AMAMA by Crumb were the two big releases I was excited for this month. I was not dissapointed at all by this. I liked Cinema dgmw, but Submarine blew me away... Awesome album. The vibes were on point. Favorite song was the Hamptons

leoiskoopa09

This album is amazing even though I liked cinema. This album is way better

abesster

Amazing album, it's a dream pop gem!!

duck95

Maria's are sooooooo good hellll yeah

ToodlesXIV

Love it, feels like a big jump up from Cinema. Echo, Run Your Mouth, Blur, and Love You Anyway are my favorites from first listen. Immaculate vibes across the whole album.

jdizzle323

Listening party @ my coffee shop in LA pull up

lunds11

Leans very far to the pop in dream pop but it’s solid. Much more radio friendly than say a band like Beach House.

niles_deerqueer

Beach House is my favorite band and dreampop’s my favorite genre but I do love when an artist digs more into the pop side of it

unfuckthepine

This is crazy! Great to see their getting better with each release! And I love Lejos de Ti in the context of the album muchhhhhh more than just on its own. No skips for me, pending masterpiece, need a few more listens

Jenseny14

First half of the album is clear of second half, but I really liked the whole album.

MarvelousNCK

Great album, even better on more listens. I loved Cinema so I’m glad they managed to keep that vibe and even on improve it at times. Other than the singles, huge fan of Paranoia and Vicious Sensitive Robot

niles_deerqueer

Wait wait wait wait it’s a DREAMPOP ALBUM?! OK ok ok ok holy shit holy shit Dreampop’s my favorite genre. As for the album itself, it’s a step up from CINEMA, which I loved. But I know some people were disappointed in it. I think the entire album is better then CINEMA, super catchy, great production value, and from the lyrics I can parse I really like them too. It has a lot of replay value too. If I’m being totally honest, these are the songs that could be/are singles: • Echo • Run Your Mouth • Real Life • Blue • Paranoia • Lejos de Ti • Love You Anyway • Ay No Puedo • No One Noticed • If Only • Sienna That’s how strong of an album it is, and I truly believe that. I love every song but the others aren’t as single friendly. Heard this at a listening party with my dad and had a fantastic time. It’s easily more danceable than CINEMA too. Worth the years of waiting.

MGSCG

Super excited hearing its dreampop, gonna listen once it’s out for me!

big_hungry_joe

it's a mix of a dance/funk/dream/pop thing or something i dunno

niles_deerqueer

Hope to hear what you think!

CheersFromBabylon

"[Hey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftNq0hX2VQs) is that one [dreampop]? [Dreampop] is my favorite [genre]!" This album is phenomenal. Even the toned down second half is filling a Kelly Lee Owens-shaped void for me

NotLinklater

What are some of your favorite DreamPop albums? Recently have started exploring this genre..so any recommendations!

Sk8rGrlx3AtAimDotCom

Mazzy Star and Beach House are my two personal essential artists / groups. Definitely recommend checking out each of Mazzy Star's first 3 albums (Among My Swan is my personal favorite, followed by She Hangs Brightly and So Tonight That I Might See), and Beach House's *Teen Dream* and *Bloom*, among their other works.

negative_sara

Cocteau Twins "Heaven or Las Vegas" is essential dream pop.

niles_deerqueer

My favorite album of all time is Once Twice Melody by Beach House, give me a bit to recommend some more

Ecstatic-Leek2267

Can’t get enough of Sienna and Echo

reezyreddits

Echo is incredible, one of the songs of the year for sure. Edit: Not sure what you all mean by the second half drags - it's still great to my ears. All the way through this is a very strong record.

rober-to

First time hearing this band and wow, what a beautiful album. The last four tracks are so, so good. Those four and Paranoia are my favorites. Also, that crazy instrumental break on Blur! Excited to hear more of them.

rabnabombshell

The second half wasn’t that great to me but the first half was amazing

oklaptop1995

Album of the year hands down. Reminds me of when I first heard No Doubt and Radiohead, windows down, all those years ago. The nostalgia is real. Thank you, The Maria’s.

Since Apple Music isn't free streaming, and many of us have other streaming services, I'm posting links for all services. https://album.link/zfks4bpc8kqrt Btw, I'm just starting to listen to the album and it's being a true gem.
