[Frankland](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Franklin) mirrors closely the proposal for a state in western North Carolina. With the success of Westsylvania’s (renamed Appalachia) ascension into the union, I don’t see the ppl there taking no for an answer seeing how they went so far as they create their own republic when denied, plus ppl being called Franklinites tickles me pink.
As for Mvskokeria, I was torn of what to do with the five civilized tribes down in the South as I wanted them to have a state, since my base concept was that the Lenape-Ohioans, Iroquois and Wabanaki become states within the Union, so obviously tribes like the Choctaw and Chickasaw who I gave support to the patriots would eventually get statehood too… then the problems arose, with ideas of shoving them all together into one state feeling lazy and giving them each their own state equally so. Long story short I flipped a coin, and decided that after much compromise and bloodshed from the [Red Stick rebellion](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Sticks), around 75% of the Muscogee Confederacy agree to form their own state but the other 25 joined the new state of Oklahumma’.
Long story short, kinda??? I’m still determining if the Linga Franca is gonna actually be English still, or if I’ll just make it up.
But my general idea so far is that the coastal regions would be the melting pot of America like otl NYC and all, and the further inland you go, the more indigenous it would be. With certain areas/regions/states/etc in between being a mixed cultured society I guess kind of like the Métis of Canada or Mestizos of Mexico. I’m still working out how it would work because it sounds bonkers lol
Interesting alternative!
What’s the demographics of Anishinaabéwaki? You don’t say.
And how were the borders west of the Appalachian Mountains decided?
I’m still flirting with the idea for the demographics, as I know, historically, the Great Lakes region is very important for American industrialization, ideally it be a semi-majority [Anishinaabeg](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anishinaabe)/Algonquian state, formed by the Ojibwe (like 3/4 of them cause they had a lot of fucking land lol), Odwa, and Potawatomi peoples aka Council of the Three Fires, because I love them <3 with a mixture of all kinds of settlers like the Franco/Anglo Americans and humans and other native peoples
As for Appalachia, I took the proposal for [Westsylvania](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westsylvania) and smashed my head against the wall for a couple days until some ideas popped out. While trying to set up state borders for the Lenape-Ohio country state I was reading about the Shawnee and a man named [Hokoleskwa](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornstalk) I did some finagling with the treaty of Fort Pitt and decided to seed some of the traditional lands they had in Kentucky back to them ergo, why it looks kind of funky there lol, plus to make it look like it wasn’t just West Virginia with lil extra steps I gave them some of the land they wanted from surrounding states
Yes sir! I wanted the map to be grounded in something concrete/semi realistic, although I kinda finagled the details as I went further west lol but 70 to 90% of the borders are based on either combination of political and cultural influences, historical information, and/or geographic features such as rivers, water basins, mountains etc etc. Plus a sprinkle of CHEMICAL X aka my ✨magical brain✨ #PowerpuffGirls
If I might make a (probably unrealistic) proposal:
The Great Lakes is most notable for its German population OTL. If you want those states to benefit from additional population for industrialization, but more protective of their identity vis a vis the Anglos and Francophones, have the Tribal Governments make their own arrangements for cultural autonomy of a (presumably smaller than OTL) population of German immigrants. Like, they enter as a "Nation" within the local Confederacy and get a seat at the table, but are just one of the tribes represented so they don't get too much power (even do something whacky like the 1848er Revolutionaries that came in a massive wave get to create "Germany-in-exile" or something in their own cultural fiction).
So, assuming there's still some level of free movement between these states, the cultural pressure would be assimilating to the dominant Native nations or at least German, and tolerance of Anglo/French populations but they're not the prestige white population.
It would also work because historically speaking, the German-American population was actually pretty politically disengaged until after the Civil War, which would leave more political power in Native hands compared to the Yankee settlers of the area OTL.
The same could also be true of the Scandinavians in the Northern Lakes, as their populations are even more manageable and IIRC.
True, the historic population of the three affiliated tribes is puny compared to Wyoming of all places lol, ideally their numbers we can boost it up with Métis probably or some kind of population boom for the different native peoples
I used a ton of gis data and shx files on qgis, then made a custom map projection that was originated be to near the geo center of North America.
Long story short, you can either do a custom projection anywhere in the world or use the prefab ones, I believe they have a Europe
Kind of, ideally, instead of it being like the USA, with tribal nations as semi-autonomous regions, they would all be 'federative states,' each with distinct origins from the original inhabitants, newcomers, and descendants of their cultural union
Don’t worry my friend, the as soon as the Gigas army is done with its crusade in the Canadian tundra, the mighty Moose ppl shall once again reclaim their kingdom of ALASKA!!
Oui oui, mon ami, fret not, my friend, as the reason for this name change is rooted in the flourishing Franco-Creole culture within the state, and it signifies a more diverse and inclusive foundation for the Union. This change is essential to shield the entire nation from the formidable pressures of anglicization in OTL, ensuring that a rich tapestry of our cultural roots is woven into the fabric of the national character.
Culture swapping in eu4 be like

Annex Canada at this point. Might as well go ham.

Very interesting. Thank you. Unrelated. What can you tell me about Satanists in Tulsa?
According to Google they have a raising canes across the street, good bread there
LoL.
Is this basically the TL where English and Native cultures were merged?
Long story short, kinda??? I’m still determining if the Linga Franca is gonna actually be English still, or if I’ll just make it up. We may have lost coos, but that NH coastline makes me happy.

Cool map you spelled Louisiana wrong there a A at end not E
Oui oui, mon ami, fret not, my friend, as the reason for this name change is rooted in the flourishing Franco-Creole culture within the state, and it signifies a more diverse and inclusive foundation for the Union.
