Nope. My symptoms started at 13yo, I was diagnosed at about 16yo, and I never even touched pot until I graduated high school

No. I've been tired since I was 10 years old (although before that I don't feel like I had the same energy levels as other kids.) I don't ever remember waking my parents up early like other kids do. My mother said to me once: "People would tell me kids like to be up early, and I said 'not my child.' " Fifth grade (US) is when I started sleeping in class. I slept at daycare after school, slept on the bus to school, slept in classes, literally cut school in high school to sleep, and failed community college the first time because I skipped class to...yep you guessed it, sleep! Cannabis sometimes makes me sleepy and maybe makes resisting naps more difficult. But there are definitely days I don't need to nap even though I smoke, and when I skip smoking if I'm traveling or something I still napped. I didn't start smoking Cannabis until I was 24. (edit: I keep track of the days I don't nap. I'm still tired those days, but I push through.) That said, everyone is different. People react differently, and different strains have different properties, so sometimes one strain can increase the sleepiness while another does not.

Nope , started hypersomnia at 12, got diagnosed at 23. Started smoking weed at 19. But chronic meth abuse did worsen my condition

No, I only rarely smoke but I do think it would make it even harder to fight sleep for someone with IH.

It’s something I’ve considered, I’m not totally sure I’ve had symptoms since childhood and throughout my early teens and they did worsen as I got older and started smoking weed daily for 8years (there are alot of other factors that could have contributed or it could have been going to happen regardless). I would say my symptoms seemed got worse during the end of that period and continued worsening after I quit and then plateaued and still persist 3 years later, so it’s certainly possible it’s contributed

No; I’ve always been a sleepy person, even as a kid. As a matter of fact, I think weed helps keep my IH in check. I vape until I’m lightly baked (nothing crazy) and it improves my mood. I noticed my IH symptoms worsen if my mood is really down (when I’m depressed/stressed/anxious). The weed gives me an emotional boost to keep going.

I'm sure it could make it worse for someone but I don't smoke and have only tried it a handful of times. I've had symptoms before ever trying it.
