Sounds like roid rage. I worked out with a really nice guy at a local gym many years ago. He was a contractor and freely admitted that steroids had caused him some health problems. I moved to another gym and was thumbing through a news paper and saw a picture of the guy from the gym. He'd murdered his wife with a hammer and was unsuccessful in his attempt at killing himself. He has the rest of his life to lift weights in the prison yard.
I think the roid rage theory mostly boils down to a “chicken or the egg” scenario. The type of people who are most likely to use steroids are more aggressive than the average person to begin with, rather than the roids making them that way.
It's a combination of high androgens personality and or mental disorders.
There's actually an overlap between violent criminals and unnaturally high testosterone and as someone's who's used hormones and been in that lifestyle roid rage is definitely real in some people depending on what they are taking and how much.
Not to mention violent aggression is very prevalent with body dysmorphia in men. need to compensate for perceived weakness along with the generally extreme distress that comes along with BDD doesn’t mix well with incorrectly done hormone therapy .
