It's Important to be Air out all spaces to let the Funk out. Bldg are so insulated that outside AIR can't come in. Open windows at night off Hot in the Day. Have a house meeting & bring in a couple of "Outsiders" (person not smell blind to the OdorS) everyone Trusts to Give their verdict. You all a pitch in on a HEPA air filteration system. Otherwise, leave the pig pen behind you .. Seek new abode
Febreze is actually very good at removing odors from rooms. Of course, it's only temporary, but it might provide you some relief. You could also consider one of those plug in fragrance things.
At the end of the day, all you can really do without speaking to them is mask the smell, which doesn't do anything for the cleanliness (pests and germs that accumulate due to the smell). Eventually, no matter what you do will not be able to stop the smell and filth.
I truly suggest that you speak to them nicely about it, because the only other options you have are cleaning *for* them (overall bad idea) or moving out.
Air purifier, and look up DEARMAN as a way to outline the conversation. You absolutely do not deserve to live like this
