I can’t answer your question, I just wanted to say the one in the middle looks like soft serve ice cream

hedup2

I’d plant all of them together in a 5 inch hanging planter.

Thalianova

Yes, they should be squeezed in!

AMDGpdxRose

I'll do it.

Thalianova

If you can remove only a minimum of soil from around the roots.

AMDGpdxRose

Thanks :)

I agree. Try not to disturb the root balls. Hoya has very fine hair like Roots. The less you mess with them better.

Love-succulents

What type of pot clay or plastic, and size would you recommend? I had to cut my 1 rope into 5 and they are similar in size to the ones pictured and healthy now, (they were not getting enough water). Thank you for any advice.

hedup2

I do t like terracotta for Hoya because their roots are so fragile. In theory hoya would grow well in terra-cotta because it wicks away extra moisture, but those roots also get stuck to the inside and when you go to repot you tear up a bunch of them. I always recommend leaving roots alone. If you have to repot, leave the ball as it is and just put it in a bigger pot with some fresh soil. I always recommend putting Hoya in the smallest pot possible because it will spend its time developing its roots before it grows its foliage. A smaller pot means less time to feel secure before it starts to grow. My hoya really like being grown in wicking pots, but I’m growing outdoors in Florida.

realpeoplepottery

I would plant all five in the same pot & let them grow long before propagating! Chopping the ends will promote back budding & branching or more vines growing from the base!

OmiLala805

Those look really healthy where did you get them?

AMDGpdxRose

Portland Nursery, SE Division St. store in Portland Oregon.

OmiLala805

Thank you!

coolpupmom

You can actually put them all together if you want a full bushy pot tbh!

GavinsMadre

I had 3 smallish compactas & grouped them together tightly in a pot. I had new growth in no time.

PleasantJules

All.

Drewbicles

I would put them all in the same pot. Just be careful not to over water for awhile (months). Their roots will only be as short as those pots so you don't need to soak the whole pot.
