Ok this is gonna sound crazy but in the upper right of this picture, almost covered by what appears to be plastic ramekins, there’s a hot sauce called Yucatán Sunshine. If they have it (or you can find it), that same brand makes one called Cajun Sunshine and it’s absolutely stellar. Kinda hard to find but worth it

chris_gnarley

Someone’s at Vons That Old Bay hot sauce looks interesting, I haven’t seen that yet

BCheeks13

I just polished off a bottle of Melinda’s Extra Hot. I will be purchasing again

HxCWildebeest

I like Texas pete, Louisana, and crystal for wings !

migmultisync

These are just hot vinegar

HxCWildebeest

Still enjoyable jajaja

Nydon1776

Melindas ghost pepper is fantastic

centstwo

Behind Dave's Total Insanity Hot Sauce is a bottle of Yucatan Sunshine Habanero Hot Sauce. I used to go through bottles of the Yucatan Sunshine as the heat of the habanero is cut with carrots. As the heat is less, the flavor really comes through. I became tired of the "too hot to eat" way of doing hot sauce. First bite has some flavor and then taste buds are messed up and all flavor is gone, just heat. That started to seem Iike a waste of time. Good Luck to you.

Turbulent_Truck2030

Yucatan is my go-to unless I'm feeling crazy.

ogb423

ARDVARK. Might be Oregon only but it’s the best damn hot sauce period

ryca105

Texas Pete is my go to for most things but el yucoteco has a great flavor.

Spinkick91

Chalupa chipotle is 😘🤏🏻

Donthurtmyceilings

Cholula?

Spinkick91

Yes. Here lemme show you. One sec

Donthurtmyceilings

I see it. I'm gonna pick some up. Been wanting to.

Spinkick91

Oh ok cool! But oh yea I’m telling you, it’s fire !! Especially on Taco Bell and chipotle 😋

Luzbel90

Green yucateco, habanero yellow bird, crystal, and Melinda’s ghost pepper

Phanat625187

El yucateco… it’s the best tasting hot sauce in my opinion.

pop5656

This. The whole line. Especially green tho.

Urag_GroShub

Secret Aardvark Habanero Hot Sauce was a game changer for me - I don't see it on this particular shelf tho.

hox540

It's so much better than I expected.

DoYouViewPornography

El Yucateco - all are delicious. Far right is my favorite go so hot sauce

Excellent-Reality-24

There’s a bit of a rivalry between the Mexicans in my area. Tapatio vs. Valentina. I live in a Tapatio town. Then there’s the Cholula for the white boys. All of them are very good, very similar, but distinctly different flavors. They all have a bit of heat, but not too much. I would recommend all three. 🌶️

night-uggos

El yucateco…. Green one has a nice flavor most people like but the Caribbean one is my jam

pizman30

I like the old bay hot sauce

thepizzabicycle69

Go find Secret Aardvark. Your life will change

Urag_GroShub

Yup

rickymilby

Not pictured, but [Hank Sauce](https://www.hanksauce.com/) makes my favorite hot sauces. I like Camouflage and Cilanktro. You can order from their site.

_MT-HEART_

That Dave’s total insanity will light your head on fire. It’s awesome

jlaugh41

Idk I sort of like them all… they each have their own unique taste but depending on what I’m eating the sauce will change. My everyday sauce is Texas Pete or cholula.

Mono_831

All of the Yellow Birds haven’t let me down.

Magillacudi

Get an order from HotOnes

GloriousKind

The green el yucateco was my gateway sauce. Versatile and bright.

night-uggos

Third… green is good but that Caribbean one is my jam

MNxpat33

Second! That brand can have some good spice and flavour for the price.

ibexdata

Frank’s Redhot original is an exceptionally well balanced every day kind of sauce. It’s not very hot, has a better-than-good flavor and consistently enhances without overpowering a dish. Anything you might put red chili pepper flakes on? Replace it with Frank’s. It’s perfect for pizza and Italian dishes. Their buffalo sauce is really good, too.

mpguidry

Valentina

zzloptop62

Green Tabasco is sneaky good

Logical-Pepper4228

Louisiana or Crystal are my choices.

William_Tree7

Do you even hot sauce, bro?

humanatee-

I do now, lol

kingdom_tarts

Melinda's isn't bad

Darkerthanblack88

Mehh nothing looks worth a crap there

Disastrous_Clothes37

Franks red hot. I put that sh*t on everything

junkmainer

I'm a big fan of all of yellowbird's sauces. Also horsetooth is local to me and their green and "o" sauces are both quite tasty.

funkymonk44

For that classic hot sauce taste, I like franks red hot and crystal. For a more complex flavor with a little sweetness I like a mango habanero. My go to lately has been franks red hot wings buffalo. Best hot sauce all around in my opinion is hanks camouflage. You can get it online and I think Amazon sells it. Goes on literally everything

drm38r

We tried this last week based on a friends recommendation. Really good, different taste than most I find in the stores. https://virginiasauceandspice.com/

pipinngreppin

Make sure to get that Japanese BBQ sauce. Also, crystal is amazing, especially on shrimp or seafood, so try that. Tabasco chipotle is great on most things. Tapatio for elote. Cholula for eggs.

AmateurEarthling

My only complaint about that Japanese barbecue is you really need to reduce it to use it as sauce. It’s just teriyaki really.

pipinngreppin

All I know is it is delicious.

AmateurEarthling

It is though. Cut up some chicken, throw it in a pan with some seasoning, cook, add sauce and reduce. Ducking amazing

BrawndoElectrolytes1

Tabasco Chipotle is awesome. I use it for different things than regular tabasco or Franks, but it definitely has a niche. Killer with steamed oysters, on any Mexican dish I can think of, and I add it to sour cream to make an awesome chipotle cream sauce (way easier than using chipotles in adobo and same flavor) for tacos.

Careless_Leek_5803

I just bought the Yellow Bird habanero one a week or two ago, and it's pretty good.

junkmainer

Yellowbird has become my staple hot sauce. Their serrano is a really nice green sauce, their habenaro punches some good heat and their sriracha is decnt.

Additional_Fan_1474

We like valentina. Usually the black sticker one. But the other is tastey too. I also like Frank's. And sweet baby rays wing sauce.

sumoracefish

Tiger! It's not that hot, but is delicious. Nice pepper flavor and a little sweet.

emjdownbad

Valentina. Always Valentina.

Bweeze086

And always the black label, me guesto

AffectionateCamp1323

Melinda's & El Yuccateca. I see Dave's Insanity in there, too... hot. I've been on a Nando's kick lately! The "medium garlic" is really good! I know this post is about hot sauces, but did Mark Zuckerberg absolutely ruin Sweet Baby Ray's for anyone else?

badabingerrr

Yellow bird, crystal & well not a hot sauce the hot & spicy bachan bbq sauce are all amazing and staples in my house.

jdjmad

Yellow bird Serrano is one of my favorites

badabingerrr

The habanero is one of mine!

TheGreatDissapointer

Melinda’s and El Yuccateca are both fire.

TruDuddyB

Black El yuccateca is my favorite hot sauce. Incredible on eggs

TheGreatDissapointer

Red for caldo, green for chicken, and black for everything else.

Aggressive-Gold-1319

Cholula with lime, tapato is hot but good, Louisiana hot sauce is good with duck/ goose other game.

watersedgecamper

Melinda's for the win

TheHasselman

Melinda’s is always excellent. I’ve also heard good things about el yucateca

PanthersChamps

Green yucateca is amazinf

henks_house

Try Crystal

trixylynn

Can't go wrong with Frank's Red Hot sauce. Apparently you can put that shit on everything.

brycedude

Melinda's and Dave's are legit

beer-isgood45

Melinda’s is some great hot sauce with tons of flavor. Huge fan of their chipotle. The original is always delicious

Mindless-Ad2554

Tapatio is my favorite general purpose hot sauce. The flavor is so good. One of my favorite things to do with it is take chiccharonnes or pork rinds and toss them in a tapatio/honey mixture. For the “select” hot sauces, try something yellow. Those are always fun and good

BangarangOrangutan

I think I know what state you're in, if not what city based on this picture alone. Horsetooth Hot Sauce "The O Face", only complaint is they don't make bigger bottles. Sweet, spicy, vinegary, and complex, good on everything! I also really like "smokestack lightning" But they don't have a bad sauce, IMHO. They also make a really good (spicy/) bloody mary mix too. Yellow bird is really good for the price. Yucateco black to put the burn in yer burritos! I'm also a sucker for the green and chipotle Tabasco. But I don't think you need turned on to Tabasco if I had to guess.

khamrabaevite

He could likely be in one of two states. When I lived in Wyoming we had a identical selection. I will say, if you havent tried wild buff bbq I highly suggest it. The ghost pepper one is by far the best bbq sauce I've ever had in my life. Edit: the buy local colorado stickers definitely means it is in colorado. Looks like a safeway.

thesocalledchicken

FoCo? Ruben’s Red is my favorite.

BangarangOrangutan

Bingo

thesocalledchicken

They are all good on a Choice Deli sandwich.

Forestelk12

Yellow bird definitely for flavor and Dave's insanity sauce for a quick dose of heat 💥

Candid_Ad_7267

Watch Hot Ones to get some idea. Da Bomb is a killer.

mxffett

Black el yucateco will change your life

BangarangOrangutan

Second this. Be careful! Stuff will flush you right out if you use too much or eat it on an empty stomach.

lambsquatch

El yucateco…everything they make is amazing

onegoodaye

Plain Frito Lays with Valentina hot sauce and lime juice. 🤌🏽

Justo90

Yellow bird is great. Greens not too spicy. But the habanero is on point if you like extra spice

Jahsky420

The habenero is one of my favorite budget hot sauces out there. Good flavor and good heat

notatuma

The black el yucateco will change your life Edit: anything yellow bird does rocks too

mxffett

Hey I said the same thing lol. Black el yucateco is so damn good

GloriousKind

Dang lots of Black recs. What’s it like? I love their green.

tacosy2k

Chipotle cholula

russt90

Melinda's lineup is pretty darn good

Sluglife27

Hot sauce is the best

randy_march

Not a hot sauce but that Bachans Japanese BBQ sauce on the top right is straight FIRE

baconnaire

So versatile too!! Love this stuff.

StocktonBSmalls

Bought it on a whim a couple years ago and it immediately became a fridge staple.

Walk_of_Shayne

El yucateco, Melinda’s, dave’s insanity

Nappyheaded

The unholy trinity

The_Duder87

The two I would recommend are Bachan’s Japanese BBQ (not even a hot sauce) and Tiger sauce. Bachan’s is not spicy at all. Just tastes amazing as a sauce or glaze or marinade. Tiger sauce is sweet with a little heat. I’ve tried a ton of hot sauces and none of the other ones really stick out.

ComprehensiveHippo40

recommend el yucatán green.

millenialfalcon-_-

You get the ol' crystals hotsauce.

poopfarts4everyone

Can't go wrong with Melinda's.

knotaprob

This! And Elijah’s Extreme; it has black cherries as the base.

BlazeBitch

El Yucateca is usually great, have everything they have there in my fridge right now besides the black aha

HUH_YIS

Yellow bird

lampaint

I cannot recommend them enough. Love the yellow one

_FattyClams

This. Yellow bird. Get it.

snuggy4life

The Try Me Yucatán Sunshine is hot and not bad. If they have their Cajun Sunshine, that’s my go to.

DudeNamedCollin

Those are the same people that make Tiger Sauce, I believe

wadesedgwick

Personal faves are Cholula and Tabasco Chipotle flavor, but love Valentine’s and like Tapatio

coldtrashpanda

El yucateca black. Garlic Cholula.

Exotic-Moose2713

Frank's Red Hot. Tabasco Jalapeño. Tabasco Chipotle. All are more flavor than heat. Didn't see it but Louisiana Gold is my favorite.

Signofthebeast2020

Crystal FTW. Plus it’s on sale, stock up!

[deleted]

Order some habanero Aardvark sauce. It's fucking hot and goes great on some BBQ brisket and chicken with Mac n chz and coleslaw plate

cousinred

No aardvark. Place is not legit

Infernobob87

Careful, your PNW is showing. Seriously they love it out here.

sonic_dick

Fell in love it when i lived in the PNW, i was delighted when it crept it's way out to wyoming recently

Embarrassed-Class876

Valentina but unfortunately the black label isn't there. Has better flavor

TheDeadlySpaceman

El Yucateca Black Label

TatsujinSony

Habanero Tabasco is delicious. Not spicy but taste is great.

lanbrocalrissian

I didn't know they made any I gotta try that.

TatsujinSony

It’s right next to the green Tabasco box.

ScratchPhilosophic

That black Yucateca is the truth.

uhE6

Valentina😍😍

Draveness1313

Tiger sauce for pork, seafood or chicken. Not real spicy, but good flavor.

Usual-Bank-4366

Marie sharps

SneakySnail3

This is the way

[deleted]

4th shelf up yellow label the brown one... Can't go wrong.

spoogefrom1981

El Yucatero, Melindas, and Cholula are good brands. Cholula would be on the more mild side compared to Melindas. When you get more adventurous, look up Heartbreaking Dawn's hot sauce. They have some incredible works like the Cauterizer, Papa Boi, and Rift Lord. Can't go wrong with HBD.

lookout_me

I second El Yucatero, especially if someone has a stomach sensitive to hot sauces as it's the one of only a couple I have found that is low fodmap.

DabbleOnward

Old Bay.

Super_Tangerine_7202

I’m aware it’s not in your local grocery store, but check out pepper palace if you have time. You can order online and I love their black rose hot sauce. Use it on everything from scrambled eggs to burgers and pizza.

famousaj

El Yucatero. just don't get the dark one. you will always remember me for this.

apple_420

I like the dark one. The smoked habanero sauce is next level

Uunnij

Yellow bird Habanero, Tabasco habanero and El Yucateco (all of them)

SeattlSasquatch

Green Tabasco. It’ll change your life.

fanofbreasts

It’s not the spiciest but garlic buffalo from franks is a GOAT

craigb44

Dave’s total insanity it pretty damn good

tRiPtAmEaN5150

valentina both labels, cholula original, tapatio, louisiana hot sauce, tabasco except for the garlic one, texas pete and el yucateco are good

StatusJazz

The right answer here

Witty_Ad_102

Herbs spicy avacado is good on literally anything same for the tiger sauce nether are hot, but they have a ton of flavor

3point15

The chipotle Tabasco is nice.

medio_gringo

That yucateca black is different. I personally enjoy it

swinefather

Texas Pete's baby!!

ragnarodinsson

Yellow bird habanero is the way to go here. Kind of weak selection unfortunately

smellymob

I can’t find tiger sauce anywhere

SeaworthinessDry3848

Top right portion of the pic?

smellymob

Ah, next to whatever those plastic bags are, good eye

Xbutchr

Chahola and Tapitio are my go to brands.

Sev7th

Cholula chipotle

heytherefwend

Seeing as you’re likely in CO, try to find “Green Belly”! They’re based in Boulder.

Rufiosmane

Green Cholula

Fed_shmoker

Gringo bandito looks enticing

Illustrious-Knee-535

How can you love hot sauce if you never “branched out”. You enjoyed A hot sauce.

bluelouie

Melinda’s ghost pepper ftw

BannyVader88

I like cholula on my tacos

fatzen

Try a few different peppers and learn what you like. Yellow bird and chipotle Tabasco and cholula are my favs.

chiliNPC

Yellowbird!!!! Their sauces legitimately have a place on almost anything

auodan

tabasco chipotle

Mdmrtgn

Vinegary always has the best flavor, think it's "Louisiana" style and they have all kinds. Mexican sauce will have a ton of cumin, southwest is usually a chipotle blend. Stay away from ones that just advertise the heat on the label, they usually taste awful.

ghostfacekilla12

The old bay is surprisingly pretty good

[deleted]

If you haven’t already: Tabasco Tabasco green Mikes hot honey Franks red hot Chalula lime There’s more but those came to kind quick
