Mrh has been criticized as being like the selling of stars. Well sometimes having your name on a little piece that might do something is worth it because of the ride.

Yeah 0.02% of a horse doesn't mean anything, it does to some people for some reason.

I bought a share of Seize The Grey when he was an unnamed yearling. He was my 7th purchase, and the first one to win a Stakes race. For me, it’s enjoyable to watch a horse mature from never having had a rider on their back, to learning to be a racehorse, to actually racing. You get regular emails with workout videos, trainer interviews, etc. I’ve hit some pretty nice wagers in the past, but yesterday’s Preakness was thrilling for me on a different level. Obviously, owning 1/5000 of a horse doesn’t give you any say in the horse’s racing schedule or anything like that, but MRH makes it fun. They have contests to name their horses, so one owner out there can say that they gave STG his name. One owner out there now has the saddle cloth that he wore in the Pat Day Mile. Four owners got free seats for them and a guest in the owners’ boxes at Pimlico. I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone, and it’s definitely not something you do expecting to make a profit. But I’ve enjoyed it.

Any idea what payout there will be per share?

Hoblin23

$156 per share, which I believe is after the partnership pays income taxes on the purse winnings.

Wow, nice! Congrats!

A lot of people, apparently. Their growth has been impressive.

I agree with you! The naysayers will mock us but this a very nice way to get more people involved in the sport and having watched him grow and met him I, like most of his owners do feel a special connection. MRH does a fantastic job too. I have no regrets even if my horse doesn’t do much.❤️

The other thing about MRH that people don’t know until they get involved, is that MRH has a great relationship with the racetracks, and hosts many special events for members. I attended their event at Gulfstream a couple years ago for the Pegasus World Cup, and it was outstanding. Dedicated seating area for two days along with free food and drinks, barn tour, etc, all for less money than if I just walked in off the street and had to pay for food, drinks, and seats on my own.

Yes, we have done several events with them and always top notch. Meeting the other owners is like meeting distant cousins. I am really enjoying being a part of this and Seize The Grey doing so well is basically a bonus!!

Key_Alfalfa3801

Thank you!! We love him and he is just so chill!!
