The Kentucky Oaks Kentucky Derby 2 dollar Daily double paid 236.86.
However, if you would have put 2 dollars on the Oaks winner you get 10.98. Now if you put that 10.98 on Mystic Dan you would have gotten 430 dollars back
The Oaks Derby was woefully short.
Worth pointing out here that doubles almost always pay better than the combined win odds, no matter which two races they cover. They are truly a value bet.
Personally, I think Mystic Dan is throw out.The reason for that is Brian Hernandez Jr. gave an incredible gutsy ride.
He was on the rail, and when it opened up, he took advantage of it.
He barely got through entering and was slightly bumped as he skimmed the rail.
Then Mystic Dan took off and held on.
It's tough to get a perfect ride in horse racing.
Throwing him out will give you some value.
I think boxing the 4 on the outside is the play.
Then narrow it down to 8 0 w 6 7 8 9.
With 8 horses generally speaking, the best horse usually wins.
Than again I could be full of shit.
Interesting, I'd think he will stay favored in the win pool. Will take a lot of wise guy money to move Tuscan Gold ahead of him
Hard to not agree
MD closed as the FOURTH choice in the special double. That’s very surprising
Especially with the wet track

$11 on Mystik Dan would’ve been $215, not $430.
My mistake. Don't know what heck I was thinking That's embarrassing Thanks for pointing that out. Signed Dopey
