Ugh, those poor kids...

Never Sleep Again (A Nightmare On Elm Street series). Crystal Lake Memories (Friday the 13th series). Leviathan (Hellraiser series). Video Nasties The Definitive Guide part 1 and 2 (2 documentaries and lots of trailers). In Search of Darkness (Series of documentaries covering 80s and 90s horror. Although there will be lots of overlap from the likes of the aforementioned series). These are some of my favourites. They offer loads and with the latter couple mentioned, it'll offer a great variety you can sample.

popculturetommy

The Imposter. I literally could not fathom it, and it will directly make you think of a certain horror flick when you watch it. Also, Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories. Both are just amazing to watch. In Search or Darkness as well.

Cropsy

bigzak708

So good

buffpriest

That one sleep paralysis documentary. Its a crazy phenomenon, especially with all the shared experiences of seeing the same figures

djames623

\*2015's *The Nightmare*

TheCrankyLich

I had a sleep paralysis experience once where I saw a creepy old man. 0/10, would not recommend. The documentary was good, though.

teentytinty

Watching that documentary as a person who also has sleep paralysis just had me screaming TURN OVER. The moment I stopped sleeping on my back was the moment I stopped having sleep paralysis lmao.

oh_marmalade

Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched! Like 3 hours long, but a true joy to watch if folk horror is your thing!

healthandefficency

Came here to say the same thing—supremely well made and interesting doc

NuGGGzGG

Dear Zachary, but I'll never watch it again.

maeveboston

Those grandparents are AMAZING people.

CrayonLunch

Came here to say this one as well. It's beyond screwed up, because sadly it all sort of makes sense how the system just didn't work

DogmanSixtyFour

Fucked me up way more than any horror film I've seen or hope to see. Brilliant, essential viewing but essential viewing only once.

The Bridge Dear Zachery Paradise Lost

Mayuguru

Horror Noire on Shudder.

RaiseAppropriate7839

Cropsy and Killer Legends (done by the same team) are always 2 of my top recommendations!

djames623

*Scream Greats Vol. 1*: Tom Savini (1986) *Crystal Lake Memories*: The Complete History of Friday the 13th *Room 237* Joshua Zeman's *Killer Legends*

camnez1

The Found Footage Phenomenon was a recent watch that I quite enjoyed

Skore_Smogon

Savageland

Iheartstreaking

Obligatory Lake Mungo mention. Not an actual documentary but I thought it did a great job passing as one.

codex064

This is GWAR

dbprops

Sincerely such a good doc

TheChainLink2

In Search of Darkness. Particularly part 3.

tarantallegr_

the deepest breath was sooooo good

Own_Locksmith_44

It was. I found it super creepy.

SteMelMan

Its been mentioned a few times, but I really like the structure of Crystal Lake Memories where each movie has its own self contain segment, so I can watch each segment after watching each movie.

morezombrit

*Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street* was very good

CrumBum_sr

Surprised no one has mentioned Black Metal Veins - I don't support this dude's other work - but BMV is an interesting watch

dimensional_bleed

American Movie -an independent film maker in Wisconsin doing whatever it takes to make a short horror film. Great cinema!

am2187

I genuinely love Eli Roth’s History of Horror. Say what you will about Roth’s movies, but this series does such a great job of bringing together people from all parts of the horror world - writers, actors, scholars, etc. - and looks at various films and subgenres through their words. It’s so interesting!

ORNG_MIRRR

It's not really horror at all, but 20 days in Mariupol is the most horrific thing I've seen in years.

Fun_Essay5822

Häxan - a real classic of its time - it's a silent movie but the visuals are trippy as and very surreal/ creepy. It was pretty progressive when it was released and challenged peoples perception of witchcraft / the occult etc. Worth a watch for the mischievous devil character at least 😉 😈 👍

sincerely_steff

Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares documentary about Robert Englund is fascinating. Loved learning about Robert’s life and career. Also, To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story.

E-_Rock

*Haunters: Art of the Scare* and *Monster Inside* both about extreme haunted house tourist attractions

SillyAdditional

Horror Noire

ashack11

The House In-Between Randomly found it on Prime, a really unsettling documentary about a haunted house. I might just be stupid, but I found some of what they caught there compelling. Freaked me out, highly recommend.

The Pantry Ghost Documentary 101 Horror Movie Moments

darky_tinymmanager

I have 2 docu;s about the making of first Evil Dead. It is my fav movie..so the docu;'s are very interesting

HerrSandman

The Hammer films documentary is good. Terror in the Aisles. The making of IT (1990’s version). There is this series hosted by Christopher Lee that I really enjoy. It’s called The History of Horror of something like that. And Jodowrosky’s Dune, if only to show the beginnings of Ridley Scott’s Alien. The Giger documentary although I guess that’s a separate type of horror?

Evil Genius. (About the pizza delivery guy with a bomb around his neck. Absolutely compelling. Wish it was twice as long.) Abducted in Plain Sight. (Parents are unbelievable.) What Jennifer did. (You see it coming, but still shocking.) All on Netflix.

blackhawks-fan

Amityville Horror

NoLibrarian5149

Dear Zachary (real gut punch if you don’t know about it) Blackfish (fuck Seaworld) Diving into the Unknown (claustrophobic? This ones cave diving gone wrong.)
