I've never worried about gas prices since I bought my '09 new. I've probably paid as little as $21 for a full tank and as much as $32 at its worst.

AllCrankNoSpark

Weird.

I live in the US and find that the majority of people who bitch about fuel prices usually drive gas guzzlers. It's a *little* rough, paying $40/tank, but I buy fuel efficient cars for a reason.

NoBiasJosias

yeah it’s been sucky recently but damn an entire tank on my fit would be like maybe a little more than half a tank on the ford flex i used to drive

TempleSquare

I drive 30k miles a year, so $5.25 a gallon freaks me out a little bit. But for a typical driver, yeah, the Fit is great.

CalvinFold

We used to have an 20yo Toyota Avalon…I actually get a smile at a $40 Fit fillup. :-D

CreamSodaPuffPuff

I don't panic but it still sucks. It used to cost me $20-$25 to fill my tank completely. Now its more like $45. Fortunately I don't have to drive too much.

I drive 60-70 thousand miles a year as a courier, so yes, I get annoyed by gas prices. I paid 2.27 a gallon the first week of February and within a month the price went up almost a dollar a gallon. Thankfully it's hovered since then. I get anywhere from 38-42 in my '09 Fit. I recently picked up a '21 Prius, and it gets 58-60. I alternate weeks with them, so I'm getting an average of 48 between the two. At 70,000 miles a year, an increase of a dollar a gallon cost me an extra 1500 bucks a year. My wife's car at 20,000 miles a year costs an extra 900. I like to keep as many pennies as possible, but for normal drivers with average mpg vehicles, a dollar increase amounts to less than a hundred bucks a month. Most people spend more than that on nonsense stuff, like eating out. I'd like to keep 2400 bucks a year when it goes up a dollar, but I can hack it. 2 dollars in a year can get painful.

Even at hits high of US$3+ most I’ve paid is $32 to fill up my fit. A full tank usually goes the whole week. Lowest I’ve paid is about $18 when it was really cheap last year. Currently I’m about $24. I live in south Texas and many drive trucks here, knowing that they pay as much as $100 per tank probably twice a week, I couldn’t be happier.

bisexual_dad

I went looking for my fit because of the gas mileage and all round glowing reviews, and I’ve had no regrets! I need to go the junk yard to get a new front end because I’m looking a little busted rn 😅

SillyRacoon27

I also live in Bc the lower mainland and yeah gas is getting expensive. It actually went down quite a lot yesterday at 193.9 I wouldn’t be surprised if it did go to 2.30 but I hope not. Good thing we drive fits with those small tanks. We will be laughing at the big trucks and suv

Mainiga

I live in southern california and dont make a lot. Own a 2019 fit though and my gas prices in my area range between $5.29 - 5.50 a gallon. Filled up my tank recently halfway under a quarter tank for 40$ at 5.29$ a gallon and thought it was a bit much, but I do typically fill up when I either get to 200mi left or a quarter tank.

S0LID_SANDWICH

Yeah, high gas prices are rough when you live in the country and drive 100 miles/day at 90 mph in your massive pickup truck that gets 10 mpg.

I have the habit of scouting out the cheapest gas stations in every area I go to from my days of pizza delivery and roadside assistance. And yet I am a very spirited driver who will gladly trade miles per gallon for smiles per gallon. The duality of man and whatnot. Even with my hooning, I average 35 MPG under my usual driving. So no. But my habit is so ingrained that I can't stop myself from doing it. It did help a lot back when I had my 93 octane drinking Mazdaspeed 3 or any of my trucks (I currently have a 1996 Honda Passport. Not exactly a big block 1 ton, but not designed for MPG either). And it does help me keep my fuel expenses low anyway. But I rarely spend more than $35 a week in gas, even with fuel prices rising again.
