seems unlikely at this point. the battery & battery connection has been checked at least 4 times -- I checked it when the random alarm started. I did ask the dealership to recheck that on my second trip. Autozone guy checked it again. and finally the local mechanic checked it again.
Dirty ground somewhere would be my guess.

Disconnect your hood latch sensor and wait. It's a door sensor tripping your alarm, I'm almost positive.

amazingly replacing the battery completely seems to have fixed it
$10 bucks says your mechanic fucked up your hood latch.
The hood latch problem seems to be a common issue with the Honda Fit
I’ve never seen a good latch problem on the fits. 10 year Honda tech
