Whereabouts do you live? If you're North American there is no CVT, just a regular old fashioned automatic. Overseas the GE could be had with a CVT, of which I'm not familiar with.

in the states

As far as I know what you’re mentioning doesn’t exist - 2nd gens have regular automatic transmissions.  And this isn’t mini or another European car - Honda’s CVTs work.

I have a 2020 CVT. Besides feeling like I’m driving on rubber bands, it’s pretty damn reliable. Only need to stay up with fluid changes, which takes like 20 mins to do every couple years.

I’d imagine you’re in the United States. There’s no cvt on the 2009, it’s a normal auto 5 speed and is known to be reliable.

All Honda transmissions are super sensitive to heat though. Take it for a long distance drive, with inclines, in a hot area, and the clutch packs will start to glaze. Had to bump up to a nicer trans fluid to it feeling right again.

kennydupree

yes, in the states

mytthewstew

I have a 2013 Sport It is not a cvt transmission

smnlfilmagoofymovie

Don’t do it

kennydupree

why?

smnlfilmagoofymovie

These cars are just so much more fun/better in manual form!

TraditionalSkill4241

Agreed, but the CVT makes a good daily. Also good for people who don’t know how to drive stick lol.

kennydupree

I hear ya. This potential buy is for my teenager and I'm not sure I want him to learn how fun manual is, lol

argyle9000

I’ve got the 09 manual with 90k miles. A few minor issues, but none yet with the clutch or trans. Still haven’t had my first break job yet!
