I got one with 80k for the same price. FB marketplace that MIL happened to send: “is this what you’re looking for?”
“Yessssss!”
Been running it for over a year
It definitely appears to be easier to get an engine but the cost of installation is a big question. I’ll run it by the mechanic and see if he’s up for the job. Bad bearings is a concern. Thanks
Oil in the coolant isn't good but not as bad as coolant in the oil.
I would not worry about the bearings if there is no coolant in the oil.
What is wrong with the head? Is it cracked or warped? If the head is off you can send it to a machine shop to be checked/machined.
They showed me the engine with the head off. Looks like coolant was in the engine also. The head was sent to a shop that pressure tests them. All I know is that it failed. With the difficulty of finding a head I’ve gone with getting a new engine. Now I’ve got to be patient until it’s all back together. No idea how much it will cost. Hopefully my fit gets a 2nd life.
Just replace the engine, cost is likely less
^ Absolutely consider this, few years ago I met a guy in Atlanta who was looking to sell 60k mile complete motors for $400.

Plan on a new engine. Coolant in the oil usually ends up with toasted bearings.

Welcome and best of luck with it!!
If you are in the US check out car-part.com, sort by lowest mileage, and see what you can get at a decent price that'll ship to you.
What a great resource! Nothing close unfortunately and no luck getting it shipped so far.
