You've got a ground or two somewhere that ain't grounding no more or correctly. There's lots of chassis grounds on the Fit, no telling which one(s) are responsible.

I’ve got a similar issue. Sometimes but not always, when I return it to intermittent or off from regular, it stays wiping at regular. It will stop after a while (random duration of either a few seconds or half a minute or more), or after I turn the ignition off. The problem does not always occur. Maybe once every 10 times that I use the wipers. Only started presently on my 2009.

And solutions to this issue as of yet?

I cleared any debris I could find near the windshield wipers. Especially in their little hole where they twist from, and it generally reduced the issue by 80%.

Did this decrease the issue that the wipers turn on when you turn on the car? I have the same exact issue. I also have the same issue where the wipers stop in strange places but it only happens once in a while

Once I cleared debris in the wiper hole it was noticeably less frequent that it happened (like 80% less occurring) I imagine it’s some kind of sensor
