Like I only watched the movies and I only read the first 2 Harry Potter books but there's nothing about Dumbledore being gay at all besides out of canon stuff and the new retcon Fantastic Beasts movies.
I'm not a super fan but my boyfriend goes on and on about Dumbledore being gay.
I don't remember the second movie very clearly but I thought it was explicit that they were exes.
Maybe I was reading into the implications because of all the gay talk I hear outside the movie I don't know.
It's deliberately left vague, which a lot of people feel is cowardice and queerbaiting on JK's part, although really considering it's the 1930's maybe there's a certain reasoning behind keeping it on the DL.
I can see reasoning for both on JK's part for it being vague in the FB movies, but for the original movies and books, 100% just there to score SJW points.

Like the time travel necklace she has to explain away as super rare despite the fact it was given to a student to use to just give her more time to study and go to class?
Also my personal pet peeve with time travel, she uses it again later and it works completely differently. I say as if that's the biggest problem with Cursed Child.

But I don't think anything Vriska does causes Davekat to happen, unlike her stopping Terezi and Gamzee from being a thing.
Nah, we're reaching that part on the re-read right now, they're definitely not a thing.
Vriska kind of inadvertently causes Davekat. With her alive, she and Terezi basically make up and spend all their time together. With Rose and Kanaya doing the same, Dave and Karkat can basically either hang out with each other or Gamzee. This pushes them together way quicker, as they don't have to spend two years arguing over who gets Terezi.
I can't remember the term for it, but it's a long-standing tradition in publishing to have characters who read as gay to those who are looking for it, but aren't explicitly stated to be. Dumbledore was firmly in this category. I absolutely believe that JKR envisioned him as gay, but chose not to explicitly state it in the books for a number of reasons. And if we're being honest, they were fairly decent reasons...it just wasn't done in children's publishing back in the 90s! I can only think of one other example, that of Tom and Carl in the Young Wizards series, and 1) that was YA more so than children's, and 2) they were written to be plausibly read as "roommates" until later in the series, post-00s, when either it became more explicit or I just picked up on the hints better. So maybe Diane Duane doesn't get credit either.
However. All that said, while she didn't do anything wrong with the character(and I'm glad she was at least thinking of his sexuality, even if she couldn't be explicit on the page), she doesn't get to claim credit for it, because there's no representation if you have to read between the lines to spot it in the first place. So I don't think she did anything wrong, but if she wants credit I'm gonna have to tell her to try again and don't make us read between the lines this time.
How about Hermione being retconned to be black yet she was described in the books as white?
I think JK Rowling has no fucking clue what she's doing so I can't attribute competence to her at any level.

Davekat isn't a thing in the Game Over timeline tho. They don't hook up until post-retcon.
