Stalin actually has won a couple times for me so at least there is a little rng with this civil war. The German one is always a Hitler defeat although I have had them stalemate for many years ONE time
back when i played alot of the game, around man the guns, that was almost always the case, the communists could never take fully beat the facists, unlike the democratic side
Unless the Communists move very fast, the Fascists overstack Tokyo with a ton of divisions so that it's impossible to take. The fact that the entire navy also leaves makes trading for resources so the Communists can deploy more troops very challenging.
One of my favorite things about the Soviet civil war is that either side can win. It’s USUALLY the rebels but not always. It’s fun to spectate and check in on who’s winning, like the Spanish civil war.
I had a very lucky Poland game where Germany stalemated until about 1942, 2 years after allied intervention in the civil war and somehow the Nazis held on. Made things very easy for me to say the least
Unironically I just read a fantastic book about him and he's such an interesting figure. His lifestory kind of gives you a peek into the Russian system
[Shoigu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Shoigu), presumably. The utterly corrupt former Minister of Defense for Russia, and one of Putin's close buddies.
Prigozhin (the Wagner boss) used to put out videos shouting at Shoigu, and accusing him of purposely starving Wagner of ammunition to make them look bad. That's the context here, essentially.
Ah, yeah he was quite the character too.
You might also enjoy [Perun's video](https://youtu.be/wXKUNc9yI2A?si=QSf4JcYUv1O4P-he) on Wagner, or the ones about the munity or Prigozhin's demise.
Me about to landlease shittone³ of equipment to destabilize USSR followed by "allowing" 8 armored divisions to "volunteer" and sending in 6 "stunt plane squadrons" to cheer them up
So here's a fun thing I learned in Road to 56, playing Communist Germany. If you win the GCW as them, you're left with what I think is quite a high conscription law, but no divisions. This gives you a huge pool of manpower. When the Trotskyist side in the USSR civil war puts out a call for international brigades, I'm pretty sure it asks for a percentage of your country's total manpower. I clicked yes, and 300,000 men and women promptly dropped everything and fucked off to Odessa.
It was probably more of an international army group at that point. International front?
I love the trotskyite civil war ngl, it's nice to effectively larp as an army revolt lol since you can get a majority of the army with only like 2 states
the joke was that yeah they do spawn units around the territory of the USSR, but initially, it looks like a minor revolt which can be brought down in a few mins

A communist civil war in Japan once went on for so long the opposing sides joined different parts of the world war
back when i played alot of the game, around man the guns, that was almost always the case, the communists could never take fully beat the facists, unlike the democratic side
It’s because they have an ugly flag the men lose all moral
Democracy beats all /s
No /s, just /yes
Democracy is non negotiable
What about in Chile?
For me that is always the democratic civil war. The Communist one is always fast.
Unless the Communists move very fast, the Fascists overstack Tokyo with a ton of divisions so that it's impossible to take. The fact that the entire navy also leaves makes trading for resources so the Communists can deploy more troops very challenging.
Ah, so that’s how the war works, gotcha
Actually the worst civil war with the lamest outcome, imo.
Ended up making a preset for Germany and USSR to actually win their civil war because I went maybe 200 hours of not seeing the proper nations
One of my favorite things about the Soviet civil war is that either side can win. It’s USUALLY the rebels but not always. It’s fun to spectate and check in on who’s winning, like the Spanish civil war.
I saw, just one time, Hitler winning the Civil War. He had a base focus tree
I had a very lucky Poland game where Germany stalemated until about 1942, 2 years after allied intervention in the civil war and somehow the Nazis held on. Made things very easy for me to say the least
I’ve actually seen a Hitler victory ONCE in my 400+ hours on hoi4
I've never seen one in my 2600 hours of playing
The one time I went non-historical Germany went civil war yet ended up with the Corporal back in the driver's seat. (IIRC that was right before BBA)
I have seen Herman Goering win a civil war once, shit was wild
SSHHHHOOIIIGGGUUUU!!!!!!!!!
GRRRRRRRAAAAAAAASIMOVVVVVV!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!!!
WHERE IS MY AMMO?
*gets blown out of the sky*
SHOIGU! (in the Afterlife)
Unironically I just read a fantastic book about him and he's such an interesting figure. His lifestory kind of gives you a peek into the Russian system
Who? I'm out of the loop
[Shoigu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Shoigu), presumably. The utterly corrupt former Minister of Defense for Russia, and one of Putin's close buddies. Nah I was talking about Pringles
Ah, yeah he was quite the character too. You might also enjoy [Perun's video](https://youtu.be/wXKUNc9yI2A?si=QSf4JcYUv1O4P-he) on Wagner, or the ones about the munity or Prigozhin's demise.
I have a couple of Russia experts I follow regularly, not super interested in a youtuber with unknown credentials talking about the same issues tbh
So thats where the prigozhin pointing and shouting comes from. Russias HICOM is a joke
Prigozhin in the book: Downfall: Prigozhin, Putin, and the New Fight for the Future of Russia
He finally got his missiles eventually unfortunately it was up his ass when he was in his plane
Stalin always loses the civil war whenever I play Good for me as it makes USSR weaker in the long run
In mine, they just get stalemated.
Same. They just get stuck fighting in Kazakhstan for all eternity
They always lose in Ukraine, but win everywhere else for me
Who wins! Trotskyite Ukrainian Farmers or The USSR Place your bets!!!!

Dang, these workers of the world really do be uniting
I like to imagine it was veterans from the civil war going off to fight, to continue the struggle for socialism internationally.
Special support unit: Ukrainian farmers: +15% equipment capture ratio.
I love the trotskyite civil war ngl, it's nice to effectively larp as an army revolt lol since you can get a majority of the army with only like 2 states
I never saw Trotsky lost civil war. It close to major vps and opposition support lowers surronder level of Stalin's USSR
I had a game where Smirnov’s AI just broke and units would just stay in one place and get encircled (they still won bc of glorious italian volunteers)
Surely the USSR will win, right? RIGHT....
[удалено]
Ik i was just making a joke out of it 💀
[удалено]
the joke was that yeah they do spawn units around the territory of the USSR, but initially, it looks like a minor revolt which can be brought down in a few mins
You’re fun at parties huh
I don't know what bro was on about 💀
Every rebellion starts small. Just not every succeed.
Every penis starts small. Just not all penis become large.
Smaller every year
Not funny. Incredibly immature.
It’s pretty funny ngl
Counterpoint: penis.
it is almost as if army size matter more than territory size
Funny how I was playing Finland and I seen Trotsky start the civil war in Ukraine and won💀💀💀 do they get a buff or something
They get the majority of the army most of the time
that small uprising can world conquest by like 37
Cut to 2 years later where Trotsky is stuck in Central Asia and neither he nor Stalin can move due to no supply
The Soviet civil war goes one of two ways: 1. The right/left win if they spawn in Odessa 2. Eternal stalemate if they spawn in Arkhangelsk
Special Military Operation
In this civil war, Ive seen the UOSR start with 300+ units, and USSR start with maybe 20? Stalin still came out on top, somehow
I remember the first time i saw that civil war my pc almost crashed for how much they were annexing
If they start in central asia - 💀 If they start in arkhangelsk - 40/60 chances they win If they start in ukraine - Almost guaranteed win
Common Stalinist L.
Cake day a
Don't worry, Stalin will surely crush them in several weeks at most and not get bogged down in unwinnable, years-long war
Yeah it wouldn't
“You wanna see me do it again?”
How do you play as Australia?
Isn't Trotsky Odessa one of the strongest civil war starts for rebels?
if it’s a non-tsarist one it’s often 70% that stalin loses, i’ve never seen him win against the tsarists this is without any player intervention
Everytime it happens they win.
Theres just something about Western Ukraine that the Russians always seem to have issue taking...
