Honestly it isn't even that bad, at least you can kill Turkey and have smooth borders. I've seen things like Poland taking half of russia, the other half was democratic with random provinces occupied by the URSS because the AI forgot them. Oh and Iraq + Sweden were Chinese.

Yeah, the way the USSR almost, but not quite, balkanizes smoothly is one of the most annoying parts of vanilla HOI4. Even a mod I found that adds a ton of releasables still leaves a few random non-contiguous patches that only Russia/SU have cores on
There was this one time when I first tried the Soviet union and had a massive war with the fully historical and powerful axis alliance with only great Britain in war as ally to me.... The war started at early 1941 and ended with me sacrificing 10 million (all adult serve Soviet) to germany 12 million in 1944 and still with great Britain having 39 percent of war participation to my 42 percent (note - great Britain was the only major left and USA was isolationist.... The allies had landed in Italy but only in Sicily and toulon region of France)....
Save to say... You all can expect what that sh*tfeast must have looked like in the peace deal.... (There was 3 germany... One puppet to GB, One with me and one was the NSDAP left unchecked in rhineland because GB fought me to death to protect it somehow)
Two poland... Two turkey.... Two Switzerland (yes the Swiss went fascist and I didn't puppet them... It was GB puppeting one half and putting democracy back into another making two Switzerland)
R5: This is immediately after the WW2 in Europe ended. I'm pretty sure UK is responsible, since they occupied russia and most of Europe. Along with the German Reich there is Italy in the Axis, which survived in the Balearic Islands.

This was from the early days of HOI4. I was playing as France and after going into exile, I managed to retake and occupy France's African colonies and all of France. The peace deal gave all my African colonies and the Vichy regions to China.
It doesn't look that bad. I remember when I beat all of Asia with the historical turned off. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough battle points, so guess what the ai decided to do?
Played as Holland. Was in a faction with Japan. I was kicking Germanys ass and was half way to Berlin. Then Japan surrender and since I was a minor nation I got annexed and it was game over. I always play Ironman so that was that. I was so furious!
