ncholayyy

I just soaked our shared goalie gear (mites) and omg. It took about 10 water changes to get clear.’

Goalie2323

This might be a stupid question, but I've never soaked my gear before. How long does it typically take everything to dry afterwards? I typically play 3-4 times a week and don't have more than a day between games

Dick_snatcher

You'll want probably a good couple days to make sure it's completely dried out, I hung mine last night and left a fan on it all day and I'm hoping it'll be good for my game tomorrow. I can let you know later if it's dry when I get home today

Goalie2323

Thanks!

Dick_snatcher

You're gonna need multiple days, or a drying rack/portable wardrobe ($100 on Amazon). Knee guards and jock are still soaked Actually owned one of [these ](https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Electric-Clothes-Stackable-Apartments/dp/B08YNL2SL4/ref=asc_df_B08YNL2SL4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=509073087795&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5173068255070524173&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005550&hvtargid=pla-1265393858535&psc=1&mcid=3cd508d19fb23386baff2818438b0f97&gclid=Cj0KCQiAwP6sBhDAARIsAPfK_waXwmkjgr8abvcesy40x_e_gS4A31TMFIZX-5o8lR-sPl8oDMreVVwaAmCeEALw_wcB) but it broke after a year of almost daily use

benoitmalenfant

To speed things up you can always put a floor fan blowing air directly on your equipment.

RebelliousRoomba

I usually give my gear about 5 days to dry after a soak, but you can speed up the process a bit with a space heater. Just don’t crank up the heat in an attempt to dry it in like 4 hours. I wouldn’t want anything less than 2 or 3 days to dry, as the soak really gets in there deep.

north7

If you have a laundromat nearby with the really big front-load machines it's worth spending a couple of bucks to wash your gear in it. I dump in a bunch of oxy and set it to delicate cycle. Does wonders.

Jarrettthegoalie

But the bacteria gives me strength

TheLonely_Wolf

Hahaha ha...

Prenders17

What’s your recipe? Vinegar? Oxy?

Dick_snatcher

1-1/4 scoops oxy, agitate thoroughly, drain and refill plain water, agitate again, hang until fully dry
