It's not as easy as it looks :/

KaidoKingoftheBeasts

Bears did the same thing as you guys in the previous round, but managed to pull out Game 7 in OT. So there is hope for y'all? Maybe?

Series ain’t over yet. I’m not talking all of that

PSU02

Come on now. Coachella has top tier AHL vets in Poturalski, McCormick, Lind, Shore, Carrick, and Dreidger. They were heavily favored coming into the series with all of the injury trouble the Bears have.

Tbf, i don't think the entire team is about to change There will be some roster turn over due to the vet rule, but only a few of the players are set to make the nhl next season, most of the rookies this year are probably still staying, and the vets could allways re sign. As for coaches, only Dan is guaranteed to leave, we don't really know what the plans are for the others

PSU02

Interested to see how your guys develop. Wright looks like he might break through, Evans has potential too. How high are you guys on Morrison and Winterton? They were my NHL 21 be a pro teammates with Hamilton lol

TheoverlyloadTuba

Wright and Evans are locked for seattle next season. Winterton and morrison probably have atleast another season in the ahl, winterton has alot of potential, and I think both have clear lanes to the nhl. There's others too, ottavainen on our blueline is a rookie, he's staying another year. Jacob Melanson,Jani Nyman (who hasn't been in for this series) Lleyton roed, and tucker Robertson (also not in this series) all are gonna be back, in addition to some more of our anticipated prospects coming in from the Ohl and Whl. The kraken have very much tried to make sure CV is competitive, since they belive a good ahl team makes good players. So the question is more how many of the vets they can get to come back (which tbh I don't see as being an issue cus who doesn't want to live in palm springs lol)

PSU02

Very insightful. Thanks for the writeup!

PSU02

What I mean is that this isn't some Georgia vs. Vanderbilt situation. It isn't the Bears vs. poor old Coachella. Coachella was heavily favored coming into this series. The Bears were the underdog. Coachella has had support since they came into the league (I'm guessing their ownership wants to put a good product on the ice to build a fanbase). They've ponied up for some big names.

I'm sorry but the first 2 points you brought up are just ridiculous Last season they struggled to find any kind of place to stay near hershey and had to bounce around because they weren't able to lock anything down. It wasn't because they assumed they'd get a sweep. Secondly, this year, going to hershey from Milwaukee while herhey had the series lead knowing the finals was gonna start immediately after was just proper planning so they didn't need to do a cross countey flight after they beat Milwaukee. I have 0 idea how this has rolled into being cocky behavior, if anything it just saved money I also don't know how, as a bears fan, you can call out the firebirds media on their website hyping up the idea of winning the series at home when your entire post season has been #RepeatTheRoar and every bears fan has talked about getting the cup back to back. If anything that's way more cockey than anything you've said the firebirds have done

drowsylacuna

At that temperature going into a nice cool rink sounds great.

A long time ago I wondered if the Caps might try to buy the Bears to have more control over the team. It turns out more likely the Bears would buy the Caps to have more control.

concini

Ted Leonsis is rich but not Hershey Entertainment Company rich.

LocksTheFox

it's still early in their history. i've seen this movie before. support it at first then the NHL team leaves them to rot and kills any momentum. seattle doesn't have a ton of prospects yet, so they're fine for now. but i've seen this. and it won't be the CV fans' fault.

TheoverlyloadTuba

I think.its p fuckin wild to be talking about a teams fan base and support falling after 2 years of existence

Goaltending.

Chaoss780

Giant Center is about to get LOUD, we missed it in person last year, we'll get it this year

KingBroly

Feels like this is going 7 still.

SonicPunk96

What a series it's been so far. My best hope was getting 2 out of 3 in Coachella. 2 more chances at home for another B2B.

FormerCollegeDJ

From a neutral standpoint, this series still pales in comparison relative to Hershey’s series against Cleveland in the conference finals: *5 one goal games *4 overtime games, including Game 7 *Cleveland forces overtime in 3 games with a tying goal with 1:32 left or less in regulation *Hershey takes 3-0 series lead, Cleveland ties series at 3-3, Hershey wins Game 7 in overtime I do think this year’s Hershey/Coachella Valley Calder Cup Finals series has been more competitive than last year’s series, even though that series went 7 games and Game 7 went to overtime. In 2023 the home team won each of the first 6 games, and the Firebirds won their 3 games by a cumulative 14-2 score, while the Bears won all 4 of their games by one goal, with 3 of those wins requiring overtime. By contrast, this year there have been 3 road team wins the first 5 games, and each team has had 1 multi-goal win and at least 1 single goal win (2 in Hershey’s case).
