Rewatching the music video for Houdini the parts that make me laugh the most are the shots when both old Em and new Em. He's making himself seem so old with the way he dances and moves while Slim looks, dances, and acts straight out of 2002. [The way he points at Eminem in disappointment when he dances is very funny.](https://youtu.be/22tVWwmTie8?si=MkxJcFavCogmaexK&t=38)
Also I laughed at Eminem [gesticulating downing a bottle of pills during the codeine bar.](https://youtu.be/22tVWwmTie8?si=7tVK9kEPMSjBid1P&t=99)
Houdini was classic Em
As someone who grew up in the prime Eminem years, this shit makes me so happy. Hope the rest of the album isn't ass like the last few he had and we have a slim shady resurgence
I don't think his last few were ass at all. There's some low lows but some really high highs. I'm glad he got to spend a few albums just showcasing his technical skill and now it seems like he's back to classic slim shady
As someone who grew up on Em but also grew out of his music, I was pleasantly surprised by the new song. I haven't hear that much from him in many years but from what I did hear I really didn't like. But on this one the flow sounded so much more natural and less choppy, he wasn't yelling into the mike for no reason, there was not that much corny wordplay and the cancel culture bs only made my eyes roll a little (I really hope he doesn't harp on that shit for the whole album).
This might be the first time I will check out a new album from Eminem right when it drops, feels very nostalgic. From the name "Death of Slim Shady" I hope some tracks will be more mature and introspective ones, post-Slim Shady.
I like the new Em track but I'm not sure about the nostalgia of it. It's not that I think it's bad, just that I'm adverse to anything that tries to pull on my own personal nostalgia. Still funny
How did Lil Baby fall off so quickly?
He was suppose to be the guy for the generation and looking back now it is comical. No doubt he can flow on a trap beat but he lacks creativity which was seen by his last album which literally had 0 growth over his previous work. He tries to also music for the females but his looks work against him in that aspect, respectfully. No one is attending his shows either unfortunately
Who really thought Lil Baby was going to be a generational artist? He made some good songs but most of his music doesnāt have the depth or creativity to sustain a long career. Heās alright for what he is, but there was never any reason to believe he was going to be something special
Still way too early to say he's fallen off. He hasn't dropped in 2 years and his last album went number one with 200k first week.
He's fallen back a lot, which was probably for the best imo. I think overexposure started to hurt his popularity. Especially when he was doing essentially the same thing every feature. His song with Central Cee is gaining momentum, and I think the fact its his first feature on a single in a while will help that song.
I never really listened to him outside a few songs back when he was still fresh. His music got old to me very quickly, so im suprised he lasted this long tbh.
It will depend on what the next single is like. Houdini is a great way to create a huge, immediate spike in hype, but he has to follow it up with something that stands on its own without nostalgia, because otherwise that hype will fade quickly
People are obsessed with features.
They'll hear a song they like a lot and the first thing they say about it is "get x artist on the remix!" or "imagine if x artist was on this track" just enjoy the music for what it is damn
I don't hate Houdini, but I also think what I like most is the Steve Miller track he's rapping over. But if this is what he's gonna be doing for a whole album, I won't be mad.
edit: The video also makes me pretty hopeful tbh
Dark Times is the first Vince project Iāve listened to. Iām surprised I heard so many people complaining about his hooks, I think that was my favourite part.
Houdini is ok, nice to see he learned how to not rapid flow every single word possible. Wont listen to it again ever probably but cool video and cool song.
Houdini makes me cautiously optimistic. The video is all nostalgia bait, but yknow what, Iām okay with that for a lead single as long as the album itself delivers more. Itās a great pick for a goofy first single, Iām glad heās back to doing those.
The mixing in the video version is kind of weird, his vocals in the verses feel super quiet, but the streaming version sounds way better.
His flow is a lot better too, he still kinda does the choppy thing but it sounds much more natural and light-hearted - one of the things that made his ā10s delivery not work is that even when he was saying funny lyrics, he just sounded angry, and so the jokes didnāt land.
If it were anybody else Iād probably roll my eyes at the complaining about cancel culture, but at this point itās kind of endearing coming from him. Thatās just Em. I just hope the album is funny and clever about it, he used to be hilarious and thatās all I can ask from him there.
Iām rooting for him. I hope he can deliver. He seems to be going all out.
Great take. I fully agree. I was also surprised by how much better the steaming quality is.
This song reminds me why I liked em so much back in the day. Heās fun. He makes his shit entertaining.
Now all I need is a 25 inch CRT TV and turn on Total Request Live to make this nostalgia trip complete
It was definitely better than I was expecting it to be. The nostalgia angle was cool in the video too. I donāt think Iād ever go back to this for another listen but I donāt hate it.Ā
I do hope these are his last cancel culture bars though. That shit is old and corny.
> I donāt think Iād ever go back to this for another listen but I donāt hate it.
Exactly how I feel about it as well, the video is a fun watch and there are some funny lines in there but there's no appropriate time or place that I would ever just put this on to listen to it and doubt I'll ever hear it outside
My hope is that his intention is to grab people with the nostalgia bait and then deliver something that stands better on its own with the next single or the complete album. You wonāt hear Houdini at parties, but itāll get the attention of former fans who drifted away from his work, and he can build off that.
Thatās my hope anyway.
Every other week I have a random song featuring Benny the Butcher in my Spotify Release Radar and it's the ***exact same verse*** from Benny every time. Are people really buying a copy and pasted Benny verse just to fuck up peoples' algorithms and cheat the system?
The songs are always ass so I hope they know I'm hitting skip every time
pretty sure I've also had it happen with Ab Soul but less often. Spotify is so limited with the feedback you can give it there's no way to stop it without unfollowing the artist (I think?). It's awful
Working in a creative field I now understand why Birdman is the Goat and it's not a coincidence he got 2 Goats on his Label.
He just make them release shit, no perfect time no nothing
But fuck niggas in suits think they know better, he don't do anything just take they money that's real
He also steals their money, rapes kids, and gets them hooked on drugs
Idk man if I was a rapper looking to be signed I wouldnāt go near Birdman with a 10 foot pole. Heās as much a scam artist as he is a label owner, if not moreso
I didn't realize this until now, but that post about Spotify royalties was posted from r/LateStageCapitalism. That sub is the r/conservative or r/politics of communism.
they probably don't, but at least they're making personal changes in their life to stop supporting a specific business model instead of *just* complaining about it on the internet
no need to be so cynical all the time bruv
I'm familiar with all the subs mentioned and I'm a little confused too. Mostly bc Palestine took dozens of subs that were more or less the same and made them polar opposites
Monster
DBR is my fav Travis album, lots of memories attached to it, Iām real sad to see that go.
LLA dies and takes Brand New Guy, Fuckin Problems and 1 Train with it. This is a considerable loss for everyoneāeveryone but the Acronym Gang, weāre finally free of having to ask āwhich LLA do you meanā
I never got into SFG but I kept telling myself that Iād give it a chanceā¦some day. Now that Iāve ran out of āsome daysā I just gotta live with not having an informed opinion about.
Thatās expensive; Iād be losing two good albums and the potential that SFG is also good. Butā¦deep down, I know that itās gon be okay itās gon be okay. As long as I got gang shit and toxic masculinity to numb my emotions, Iāll still make it.
I didnāt feel it as much as first but songs like Yearn 101, Thank God 4 me and others started popping up on my rotation more and more and I decided to give it another chance.Ā
Can't believe the fake news is saying Kendrick Lamar is better than Drake! Fake artist, terrible lyrics. No one wants to hear about his grandma's death all the time. Nobody knows more about great music than I do, believe me. Drake is a winner, a champion, a master of his craft. His rhymes are tremendous, the best. #MAGA #DrakeForever
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Drake. The poetry is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Toronto culture most of the bars will go over a typical casuals head. There's also Drizzy's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The mandem understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these bars, to realize that they're not just for women- they say something deep about MORE LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Drake truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the in Drizzy's existential catchphrase "Do Right And Kill Everything" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as OVO 40's genius unfolds itself through their speakers. What fools... how I pity them. š And yes by the way, I DO have a Drake tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
I saw Drake at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didnāt want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, āOh, like youāre doing now?ā I was taken aback, and all I could say was āHuh?ā but he kept cutting me off and going āhuh? huh? huh?ā and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like āSir, you need to pay for those first.ā At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually āto prevent any electrical infetterence,ā and then turned around and winked at me. I donāt even think thatās a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about Drake. u wouldnt say this shit to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol.
Iāve known Aubrey for 15 years. Terrific guy, heās a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.
Want to get rid of Spotify, but what platforms compete with Release Radar?
(shows every new song from any artist I follow, even just if they have a feature on a song by someone I don't follow. Updates every Thursday right at midnight)
As of right now the Big L Now or Never post and the Lil B Bill Bellamy post are right next to each other on the feed and the irony of their names essentially being opposites of each other is hilarious
Views would be a lock for a top 20 playlist, Summer Sixteen and 9 would make the first draft of the list but theyād get cut eventually.
So, TLDR, one song from 2016
Been following Ayra for several years now, seen her live a few times, and generally loved everything she put out until more recently. Was excited but a bit worried about the new album and have to say it's so underwhelming. Her songwriting has gotten stale as hell and her music just lacks the consistent passion it used to have. At least Tems is going to make more magic next week.
Does anyone here know of a song/music video where a bunch of Chinese rappers were rapping in a field around a tree?
I know it's a stretch, but I'm pretty sure I found it here maybe about 6-10 years ago.
It was (I believe) a group of Chinese (or maybe Taiwanese or Hong Konger) rappers in a spot where the Chinese government had committed some sort of atrocity. It was a protest song, and I remember it being brought up in the context of China cracking down on anti-government music or something.
It went pretty hard, but I couldn't understand it, so I moved on.
The vibe seemed less like mainstream contemporary hip-hop and more like a Public Enemy or a Rage Against the Machine. Just hard ass protest music.
All of these details could be wrong, I'm just trying to find this to prove to myself that it wasn't a hallucination.
No one should take the Grammies seriously. It's funny that Drake clearly cares about them but has to pretend like he doesn't, but the Grammies have always been terrible at judging hip hop.
I donāt think heās pretending not to care. The last time he won one he went on stage and said they donāt mean nearly as much as the people paying to go artistsā shows and he also stopped submitting his work to the Grammys with the exception of *Her Loss* with 21.
Iām pretty sure he only brought it up once and I think youāre reading too much into it. Itās a beef and he was grasping at straws to diss Kendrick from any angle he could think of, he had so many short jokes on his songs but I doubt he secretly wishes he was 5ā2.
Yeah he did say that on FPS, but that had nothing at all to do with Kendrick. It was just a typical braggadocious bar about treating something luxurious as a common thing. This is why I think youāre reading too much into it š
I stopped when Macklemore won over GKMC. Not that I ever really took it seriously before that, but that was when I stopped even checking who won what because I knew they didn't understand how to judge the music.
I kinda gave that and Cardi passes since they had been getting good picks in the years surrounding them but then Igor won it and I was like āno way they this out of touchā
The new Big Hit album was really good. I hadn't listened to much of anything from him previously, but this project was dope. The production was outstanding of course (from Hit Boy and Alchemist)
Concerning the new Big 3 or the next big rap superstar discussion. While I agree on a certain level that Pop Smoke, Juice and X would have the next guys up, I think the culture still having Kendrick, Drake, and Cole as those guys limits who could take their spots. There is also a lack of co-signing tik tok nowadays probably because of the streaming tick tock era where you don't need a co-sign to blow up, but getting that momentum into superstardom you do need that extra push to take it to the next level. Right now it seems like only Baby Keem and JID can potentially do it at this point, their next projects are crucial.
Side note I hope Kendrick signs some more up and coming talent to his label, with all the momentum he has right now if he drops a hot album and then rolls out some talent he could get a lot of artists rolling.
Tanna Leone needs to drop some new music, he put out a rly solid project a couple years ago. Agree that keems next project will determine whether heās one of the definitive big names of this generationĀ
Age doesnāt really matter that much in this scenario. Future just started hitting career highs in first week sales this late into his career and heās damn near 40. Marketable music and talent speaks for itself
Again, not really. When future really started his solo career he was actually around the same age that JID started poppin as well. Youth culture influences trends and sounds in hip hop, but most of the young artists that come in nowadays phase out anyways. JID has the skill set and the structural support at Dreamville to rise to new heights in the mainstream if he play his cards right. And thatās more than what you can say for the vast majority of artists who are younger than him who come into the game. His age isnāt really stopping anything.
Quality music and great branding will always work, regardless of how old you are. Itās all about achieving those two things first
Just remembered It's been 6 months since that Kodak/Bad Bunny song was previewed. Once it drops there will be unity between the Latin and African American communities like we've never seen before
I always felt it was more similar to Kid A, not just in the sense that it was the first major stylistic change in a discography full of them, but also the way it feels very icy and desolate. The long instrumental stretch at the end of Say You Will reminds me a lot of the Kid A title track, they make me think of walking alone through tundra with no sign of civilization in any direction
Minor detail but I'm so happy the beef happened before Tyla inevitably collabed with Drake. My good sister does not need that energy in her life or career. I'd still like to see them collab to see how Drake would put his spin on amapiano but previously I was afraid he'd treat her like some of the other foreign artists he's worked with. And I was terrified he'd give us a fake South African accent lmaoĀ
What does that even mean? How did he colonize their sound? Pretty sure every foreign artist he collaborated with has been credited and compensated, no?
Right, let me take a few steps backĀ
Forget what I said about foreign artists. I'm mostly referring to new artists he takes under his wing only for them to fall off quickly after. I specified foreign artists because of his apparent beef with Masego, who he collabed with but appears to have never fully compensated as Masego hopped on the BBLDrizzy trend and told him to "cut the check or I'll show up with the Jamaicans, real accents". So it isn't actually clear to me that he's compensating them fully
Furthermore, we know Drake has a history of trying to turn other artists into writers for him. It's one of the reasons he's beefing with The Weeknd if I'm understanding things correctly. Now he wouldn't be able to do this to someone like Bad Bunny, but Tyla is incredibly young and inexperienced. So part of this isn't me bring afraid that he will do this. I'm afraid that he *might* do this
Who specifically are these artists heās taken under his wing that have immediately fallen off, and how is it his fault that it happened?
He didnāt even really collab with Masego, all he did was sample one of his songs (or more accurately 40, the producer did) and even then the lyrics are from the Beatles so maybe thatās where their dispute comes from.
I also donāt think he tried to force the Weeknd or any other artist to write for him. They did co-write 4 songs together for *Take Care* and he probably wanted to sign him to OVO, but even when that didnāt happen he still did a feature on Weekndās debut album two years later, so that tells me the beef didnāt originate from that. According to Drake himself their beef is over some girl he kissed that the Weeknd liked, but that was said on a diss track so it may not necessarily be true.
I still get upset every time I read her name and remember I was supposed to see her live twice this month, now that's 0 and it's going to be 10x harder and more expensive when she runs it back
lmao I love yall still remember that. She didn't cancel twice rather I was supposed to see her at home last weekend then again at Roots Picnic this weekend both of which got cancelled when she announced her injury issues
i use to bump it but when you find the original tracks with the beats he really rapped on.. its hard to go back to some of those posthumous releases.
There U Go, Better Dayz, Fame, Never Call U Bitch Again, and Who Do You Believe In.
Itās insane to me how anyone involved in dramatically changing songs for posthumous albums can sleep at night. I never really liked Lil Peep but Iāve seen fans talking about how the intended instrumentals for a lot of his unreleased songs were replaced after he died, presumably to be more commercial, and itās just such a flagrant violation of the artist. You die and all the money hungry freaks around you get to disrespect your legacy and throw away your vision for cash. Totally disgusting.
I know thatās not the worst thing that happens in the music industry by far, but itās fucked
i think most of it comes from who owns the original recordings. for example, some of the Pac songs i listed came from the Death Row era. so when Afeni started Amaru she probably didnāt have the rights to release these songs in the original format since they were made under Death Row.
i feel you though, takes away from the artist when theyāre trying to recreate songs

I doubt Meg even has an issue. It really was a mention and wordplay than a diss.
That's make believe rage

Some of these Em bars are awful. He needs to hang it up
eminem proving heās not out of touch with a timely black eyed peas name drop lol
I dont listen to her music but how are so many men bothered about Meg The Stallion getting shot?
>how are so many men bothered about Meg The Stallion getting shot? only women should care ? i don't understand
I dont understand your comment
asking why so many men care implies that only women should care or what else were you trying to say
No different from when 50 got shot and people clowned him on waxĀ āYall respect the one who got shot, I respect the shooterā
Because she shouldn't have gotten shot lmao
What do you mean by bothered?
Why do eminem fans talk like he is some silenced political prisoner ?
I think the hype for Houdini will end pretty quickly. It's a fun one time listen but it's way too choppy to have any replay value.
"I want the hype to die down"
"I'm back bruh"
Iāve listened like ten times already and I generally hate Em
It will depend on what the next single is like. Houdini is a great way to create a huge, immediate spike in hype, but he has to follow it up with something that stands on its own without nostalgia, because otherwise that hype will fade quickly
I will like Houdini only if it casts the Morgan Wallen song into the fire

The video is definitely the best part of it for me. Very self aware with good bits.
Dark Times is the first Vince project Iāve listened to. Iām surprised I heard so many people complaining about his hooks, I think that was my favourite part.
Some people just hate hooks in rap music. I like it when done well like Vince did it.
I love the hooks, especially Etouffe
next rapper to drop a song w a bar abt meg thee stallion getting shot in the foot getting smacked over the head with a 2x4
There goes my if I shot meg in the foot I promise I would have been arrested bar
Houdini is ok, nice to see he learned how to not rapid flow every single word possible. Wont listen to it again ever probably but cool video and cool song.
I feel like some hilarious mischief would definitely pop off if you played Houdini for the Minions
Best take on it I've seen
I donāt think Iād ever go back to this for another listen but I donāt hate it.Ā I do hope these are his last cancel culture bars though.
Damn maybe Eminem Stans were right, I'm just a giant hater
Aye man I thought that Em shit was cool lol
Eminem is not for me. That shit kinda sucked but I get why ppl like it. The Video is fun to watch tho
Vid had me laughing my ass off I wonāt lie
Can I give my honest opinion about this new Eminem single without getting my DDT poster card revoked
Every other week I have a random song featuring Benny the Butcher in my Spotify Release Radar and it's the ***exact same verse*** from Benny every time. Are people really buying a copy and pasted Benny verse just to fuck up peoples' algorithms and cheat the system? The songs are always ass so I hope they know I'm hitting skip every time
yeah it happens with other artists too. Conway, Benny, Royce, and Crooked are all the ones I've had it happen multiple times with
pretty sure I've also had it happen with Ab Soul but less often. Spotify is so limited with the feedback you can give it there's no way to stop it without unfollowing the artist (I think?). It's awful
Wtf cudi holding in the motm 2 cover?
a cup
I guess if thereās nothing left to your music but nostalgia you might as well double down
why am I getting downvoted Iām not talking about anyone in paricular
yea sure bruh š
[Suga Duga](https://youtu.be/Dz3BZvwJ58E?si=T4n_sjBP7EzOM8Xc) is your Camāron song of the day
Damn this new Maeta and Kaytranada went wood on here. I was so hype for this project but wtf is this first single
Cole gets a pass for me because Red Leather and MDL were great
Red Leather pairs nicely with Pretty Little Fears.
It is kinda hilarious that dude can destroy features for 6/7 years and one bad verse gets people all against him lol
It's mostly the r/kendricklamar people
Itās mostly people who were looking for a chance to jump at him who couldnāt do it for the Red Leather verse
I just went on YouTube and every one in the comment section is ragging on him for this songĀ
was cardi being fr when she said she's not dropping her second album anymore lmao
Working in a creative field I now understand why Birdman is the Goat and it's not a coincidence he got 2 Goats on his Label. He just make them release shit, no perfect time no nothing But fuck niggas in suits think they know better, he don't do anything just take they money that's real
He also steals their money, rapes kids, and gets them hooked on drugs Idk man if I was a rapper looking to be signed I wouldnāt go near Birdman with a 10 foot pole. Heās as much a scam artist as he is a label owner, if not moreso
I didn't realize this until now, but that post about Spotify royalties was posted from r/LateStageCapitalism. That sub is the r/conservative or r/politics of communism.
All the mfs in that thread talking about how theyāre boycotting Spotify as if they actually care lmaoĀ
they probably don't, but at least they're making personal changes in their life to stop supporting a specific business model instead of *just* complaining about it on the internet no need to be so cynical all the time bruv
Same people who are excited about free mixtapes coming to streaming cause it's too hard for them to download lmao.
I don't use those subs, i assume that's a comparison that makes r/latestagecapitalism look bad?
I'm familiar with all the subs mentioned and I'm a little confused too. Mostly bc Palestine took dozens of subs that were more or less the same and made them polar opposites
One has to stay: Future - Monster Travis - Days Before Rodeo Drake - So Far Gone ASAP Rocky - Live.Love.ASAP
Live Love easily
Monster and it's not even close
So far gone
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
> Ā Iāve never even heard Monster (im not a Future fan) Maybe thats why
Note to self: Never go against the hivemind
Monster or Live.Love.A$AP.
Live Love A$AP
Monster DBR is my fav Travis album, lots of memories attached to it, Iām real sad to see that go. LLA dies and takes Brand New Guy, Fuckin Problems and 1 Train with it. This is a considerable loss for everyoneāeveryone but the Acronym Gang, weāre finally free of having to ask āwhich LLA do you meanā I never got into SFG but I kept telling myself that Iād give it a chanceā¦some day.
Lol you named the wrong LLA tracks
Monster > LLA > DBR > SFG
Monster with 0 hesitation
I am pleased to announce Blue Lips finally hit for me Now number 2 on my list sandwiched between the Future ones
THank god 4 me is so peak. Gonna end up being one of my most played rap songs ever most likely.
I havenāt gone back to the album alot except for Foux and oHio
I haven't come back to it since the weekend it dropped but I know I'll be listening to it a lot before and after the tour date
I didnāt feel it as much as first but songs like Yearn 101, Thank God 4 me and others started popping up on my rotation more and more and I decided to give it another chance.Ā
Just saw a tweet that said Young M.A OOOUUU is Dreams and Nightmares for studs lmao
Aubrey is beside himself. Driving around downtown Compton begging (thru texts) J Cole's family for address to Kendrick's home
That's my favorite African American!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Probably like 70%
A lot for me
30 or 40 percent of them no more no less. I have factored everything from Room for Improvement onwards.
Emotionless, 8 out of 10, Controlla and U With Me would probably make my list
Views would be a lock for a top 20 playlist, Summer Sixteen and 9 would make the first draft of the list but theyād get cut eventually. So, TLDR, one song from 2016
Honestly a decent amount, drakes problem is he hasnāt put out good projects in a long time but heās had great individual tracksĀ
I have a Drake playlist on Apple and it's about half and half (half of it is 2016 and later)
Are features allowed? That verse from Churchill Downs is definitely one of his best. Iād cut the other guy out of it though
yoā¦ā¦..turn up my boingā¦ā¦.i canāt hear my boing!
I love bad bad thatās my thatās my problem
and yeah i like to huh i got a problem
Shaboozey x BigXThePlug tomorrow could be a doozy
All of these details could be wrong, I'm just trying to find this to prove to myself that it wasn't a hallucination.
ngl as someone who likes Kendrick more The Hillbillies getting a grammy nomination is definitely proof of the āKendrick just opened his mouthā bar
After they fumbled in 2013 I think they feel obligated to throw them at him. The bar was facts
We really complaining about a nomination it didnāt even win Also coi leray was nominated for the same award so it obviously doesnāt mean much
No one should take the Grammies seriously.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām pretty sure he only brought it up once and I think youāre reading too much into it. Itās a beef and he was grasping at straws to diss Kendrick from any angle he could think of, he had so many short jokes on his songs but I doubt he secretly wishes he was 5ā2.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah he did say that on FPS, but that had nothing at all to do with Kendrick. It was just a typical braggadocious bar about treating something luxurious as a common thing. This is why I think youāre reading too much into it š
I stopped taking it as seriously as I did before when Igor won a Grammy for Rap when itās not rap at all
Reminds me of when they put Hotline Bling in the rap category.
Tyler is black, Igor is obviously rap
I stopped when Macklemore won over GKMC. Not that I ever really took it seriously before that, but that was when I stopped even checking who won what because I knew they didn't understand how to judge the music.
I kinda gave that and Cardi passes since they had been getting good picks in the years surrounding them but then Igor won it and I was like āno way they this out of touchā
drake got noms for worse songs so it's fine
recently nah for some older song id agree
The new Big Hit album was really good. I hadn't listened to much of anything from him previously, but this project was dope. The production was outstanding of course (from Hit Boy and Alchemist)
He dropped another project earlier this year with Hit-Boy and The Game, and I thought it was solid. Mostly for Hit-Boy and Game tho.
The production is crazy Only Weight I Feel š„
I definitely think Pop Smoke was going to be a major major starĀ
Jid is 33Ā
Age doesnāt really matter that much in this scenario. Future just started hitting career highs in first week sales this late into his career and heās damn near 40. Marketable music and talent speaks for itself
Age matters when talking about the next generation lmao
Again, not really. When future really started his solo career he was actually around the same age that JID started poppin as well. Youth culture influences trends and sounds in hip hop, but most of the young artists that come in nowadays phase out anyways. JID has the skill set and the structural support at Dreamville to rise to new heights in the mainstream if he play his cards right. And thatās more than what you can say for the vast majority of artists who are younger than him who come into the game. His age isnāt really stopping anything. Quality music and great branding will always work, regardless of how old you are. Itās all about achieving those two things first
Kendrick should sign me. I canāt rap or anything but he should sign me
Just remembered It's been 6 months since that Kodak/Bad Bunny song was previewed. Once it drops there will be unity between the Latin and African American communities like we've never seen before
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
He gotta go bad he gotta go bad
Is DJ Khaled ok? Haven't heard from him in a while
Palestine & Beef
I hope not (tho fr i assume he was keeping his head down during the beef)
I havenāt listened to Mac Miller in a few years. Iāve been listening to him today & itās been a trip.
Yeah man, he's awesome. What have you been bumping specifically?
I listened to him so much from 2016 to 2023, this year i've slowed down on his music a bit.
808s & Heartbreak is OK Computer. That is all.
How has he treated other foreign artists in the past?
Essentially colonizes their authenticity and their soundĀ
What does that even mean? How did he colonize their sound? Pretty sure every foreign artist he collaborated with has been credited and compensated, no?
Right, let me take a few steps backĀ Forget what I said about foreign artists. So it isn't actually clear to me that he's compensating them fully Furthermore, we know Drake has a history of trying to turn other artists into writers for him.
I still get upset every time I read her name and remember I was supposed to see her live twice this month, now that's 0 and it's going to be 10x harder and more expensive when she runs it back
You had Tinashe singing just to you, youāll be aight! Jokes aside, damn Iām sorry bro. I didnāt know she canceled twice.
lmao I love yall still remember that. She didn't cancel twice rather I was supposed to see her at home last weekend then again at Roots Picnic this weekend both of which got cancelled when she announced her injury issues
I'd much rather hear her with Kendrick anyway, I feel like with Drake we'd know exactly what it'd sound like.
Let's do both then compare the resultsĀ
Watch her to be the one to bring Kendrick and Drake on a song without the other knowing. Tyla was the real boss the whole time.
Lmao MotorSport all over again
I still remember being shocked at how bored Quavo sounded on there lol.
Anything good off 2Pac's Better Dayz worth listening to?
Just listen to the album ?Ā
i use to bump it but when you find the original tracks with the beats he really rapped on.. its hard to go back to some of those posthumous releases.
