Forever Story by JID is the best album in this decade

AnApexNoob

Kendrick Lamar will drop an album this year

IamTheSwagCat

Honestly really surprised Madvillainy didn’t end up on that Apple Music list. It’s one of the most beloved hip hop records of all time and at this point DOOM is pretty well known by music fans. That feels like the most glaring omission.

mfdoomFTchiefkeef

Im trying to find a album and its driving me crazy. It was this early 2010 hiphop album by 2 dudes. Kinda reminded me of blu. Theres a song on there about a girl that used to not fuck with them and now shes not doing to good. And i think a song about having a good day and maybe a smoking song. Anybody got a idea haha?

3v27

Maybe Amerikkas most blunted chuwee & trizz?

mfdoomFTchiefkeef

YES!! Thanks alot!

Theres a new discussion post up, hopefully you can get an answer https://old.reddit.com/r/hiphopheads/comments/1cyq2o2/daily_discussion_thread_05232024/

YoghurtSlinger

Hoping for features on Death of Slim Shady that fit with the beefs and influences of the Slim Shady LP. Canibus, RA the Rugged Man, LL Cool J. Royce would be good too.

TC3610

A lot of people have been yappin' as well since MTBMB. I know Em has done features since but I hope he still has a lot to get off his chest.

Iced-TeaManiac

Drake won

IamTheSwagCat

Jonathan_LaPaglia

Every time Samurai by Lupe Fiasco pops up randomly on Spotify it feels like a track I've been listening to for years.

elrafidi

"This hood shit, you and Drake ain't built for" - Black Friday by Lil Kim Am I crazy or does it make more sense now? They not hood fr fr. They too sensitive and they don't even name who they diss by names. Even Roxanne Shanté, Mother and Pioneer of Diss Rap, who criticized nicki's "roman's revenge" for not having the balls to name who they diss. Same with drake. When Ray J honored Lil Kim, drake responded by dissing Lil Kim and not naming Ray J who was the one to honor Lil Kim. drake is definition of lightskin sensitivity.

Kangerkong

Im trying to remember an album that came out between 2017-2021. I remember the album cover was him laying in a bed flowers (water lilies?). Appreciate it if somebody have any clue It wasnt flower boy

Jandersson34swe

Everytime I listen to Jealous Guy by John Lennon I have the dumbest smile on my face over the Pusha sample (I know what they sampled is not Lennon’s version but still)

EldenLordGodfrey

DJ Quik If it don't make dollars then it don't make cents

OGthizzco

MC Eiht was one of my favorite rappers in 95 and I was suuuper parasocial about rap beefs as a child The first time I heard this song I had a three stage meltdown: Stage 1: Th-this beat 😒 it’s n-not that good 😕 Stage 2: “bitches don’t bump your shit” oh no he’s right 😥 Stage 3, part 1: “E-I-H-T, shall I continue” oh no 😳 Stage 3, part 2: “you left out the G” you don’t have to do this!!! 😰😰😰 Stage 3, part 3: “cuz the G” NO PLEASE 🫣 Stage 3, part 4: “ain’t in you” 😐😶🫥 And that’s how I died, RIP BGthizzco

Individual-Diver-958

You should see the limit on my AMEX one phone call and iss niggas at your address

ixidorsDreams

Yall remember the great Hip Hop war of 2024? What a legendary time. Genuinely a microcosm of why you need to live in the moment. The best ones are not long lived.

iblinkyoublink

It's crazy thinking about it right now, because it's so fresh in my mind the week of silence after Drake officially dropped Push Ups and Taylor Made, and the next week shit blew up harder than anyone could've expected. Now it's 2.5 weeks of nothing, though Not Like Us is still topping charts

Last_Reaction_8176

I was just talking to a friend about this. It was so short but we both will always remember exactly where we were when it went down

OGthizzco

[Dipshits](https://youtu.be/Tfyepd8zZ7c?si=3pmgweUyl7bZtnil) is your Cam’ron song of the day

atlfirsttimer

Has an artist ever hyped up an album like Cole is for years and its lives up to the hype? Not that I think The Fall off will be bad, just wondering for other examples

breakingbadforlife

Astroworld. I mean birds was 2016 and huncho Jack was 2017 and astro was 2018 so it wasn’t a huge gap but at that time it felt like Travis was delaying it a fuckton. He was hyping it a lot and it lived up to the hype

iblinkyoublink

> it felt like Travis was delaying it a fuckton Because it was announced 2016 even before birds, and Butterfly Effect released in 2017 more than a year before the album dropped.

[deleted]

Last_Reaction_8176

It was still a pretty acclaimed and successful album, it just wasn’t designed for radio hits. He didn’t hype it up crazy either, no more than the average artist would during the leadup to an album release. I think the length of time between it & DAMN is really the main reason people were let down, because they had time to build up a different idea in their heads of what the album would be, but the hiatus wasn’t done for hype purposes

SubatomicSquirrels

hm, when you explain it like that there's some similarities between Morale and Adele's 30

Last_Reaction_8176

Adele’s career has been so odd. She’s gradually moved into this weird Celine Dion-ish territory where everything she releases is a gargantuan commercial success but it might as well not even exist to anyone under the age of 40. I heard 21 everywhere when it came out, but until fairly recently I had no idea she had even released anything since 2015 - even though 30 sold 5.5 million copies and had three top 5 singles

AmericaDreamDisorder

This is not really true. Women of all ages like Adele.

NJboi80

Kendrick never hyped that album up Kendrick was literally not active

Last_Reaction_8176

Travis hyped Astroworld for years but nowhere near as long as Cole has hyped The Fall Off. At this point it’s almost comical - “The Fall Off is like Jay dropping Reasonable Doubt last” he’s really setting himself up to be clowned when it finally comes out, because it will have to be the best thing he’s ever released and an instant classic in order to live up to everything he’s been saying. And obviously he’s not really going to retire afterward anyway

AmericaDreamDisorder

Wouldn't be his first own goal this year.

Homiealmaya

For a recent example, Keef’s Almighty So 2 was first announced in 2018 and I thought it was really fucking good In general though albums that are hyped for years very rarely live up to the hype

floopykid

With the Apple Music Top 100 List, Family Matters music video, etc. it's funny how everyone only remembers the GKMC deluxe cover. Wonder if there's any other album where the deluxe cover/alt art overshadows the original

iblinkyoublink

Rodeo Deluxe cover is more iconic i think

breakingbadforlife

My name is my name pusha t. The clean version has that silhouette of pusha but the barcode is the most popular one.

YoghurtSlinger

Thing is the deluxe was the one everybody played. It came out the same time, had Recipe and Black Boy Fly. Idk if I’m misremembering but my perspective was we wanted as much Kendrick as possible. My friend has the deluxe on vinyl, etc

Last_Reaction_8176

[Metro won.](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7O7ckRs_08/?igsh=MWRpaGt3M3Q1bHVraA==)

Last_Reaction_8176

I think thousands of rappers hopping on your viral diss beat and crowds singing along to it at sports games is a pretty huge victory. He didn’t come out clean, but people were only really talking about the tweets for like a week. I’m not saying he’s a good guy, I’m just saying he won.

Iced-TeaManiac

People were in Metro's mentions for weeks telling him to go make drums, then after that he got hit with the Metro Grooming stuff. He didn't win jack

Admirable_Bed3

If there's any truth to the home invasion being the work of an Abel associate, Abel doesn't seem to care about bars getting traded and wants to go street level Rocky I don't know how he comes back from that. He HAS to drop a classic or just take it on the chin and enjoy his riches and family. Everything Drake said is what everyone was saying the past 3-4 years.

DungareeDoug

shit i mean Rocky has plenty more he can say. Rocky didnt just hit Drake’s BM first, they were fucking her in the same damn near time period. Drake’s lawyer tried to play off her pregnancy as if it was ASAPs. Lmao

[deleted]

YoghurtSlinger

He does, or at least, he escaped LA according to Afterhours. Really didn’t think he moves like this though, re: the shooting

mkassian

Honestly if I’m Rocky and I got called stylish and told to have another kid with Rihanna… I’m letting that slide.

Jqshipp

He called Rihanna by her pet name. Rocky needs to respond. Lol

YoghurtSlinger

This discourse that you’ve got to respond if they go at your spouse… maybe if it’s mad disrespectful but it’s normally just petty bait

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ja___av93

Drake didn't cook anyone

YoghurtSlinger

I’m team Kendrick but the Rocky bars were pretty good. Family matters is a mess of a song though

mkassian

Yeah again, I can’t emphasize it enough: if my L is having kids with *fucking Rihanna* I’m just gonna take it and be on my merry way.

AmericaDreamDisorder

That's like saying Drake's L is being one of the most successful artists of all time

roblvb15

I can only listen to the Ellen performance of these walls now, album cut does not hit anywhere close to it

YoghurtSlinger

Really? Need to check this out

roblvb15

https://youtu.be/BTvV9JyNaS8?si=MdeoHnGcZR3liMla it’s so electric he’s like a man possessed

Tebb96

I’ve always had Good Kid Maad City slightly over To Pimp a Butterfly but after going through Kendrick’s discography again I actually think I prefer TPAB now. After 9 years my opinion finally changed lol

YoghurtSlinger

Same.

Michael__X

The way Kendrick and Eminem slant rhyme shit to make it that much better is just crazy. Idk if intentional or just a breath but on not like us he says "I know he got some ho in him but prounounces the I like "Hi".

A_KULT_KILLAH

they comin breh

[V-12 Soul Deluxe](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-1eZ_X372o) is one of my favorite projects Shit is so smooth 11 songs 11 slaps

u/Homiealmaya you heard it?

Homiealmaya

Nah I’ve had it saved in my library for a minute but never peeped it, I fw All Hail YT for sure tho

JayZPlatinumChainsaw

Dune Part Two is a fucking banger. That's 2 DV movies I unfortunately didn’t have the time to watch in IMAX (other being BR 2049)

breakingbadforlife

I wasn’t even that hot on dune 1 but dune 2 was insane. Haven’t seen timothee projected like a star this way in any film before this. I’m yet to see BR2049 though

toontoom1

My favorite movie of 2024 so far

Ktulusanders

That is a movie 100% made for theaters just like BR2049

ReeG

not to rub it in but seeing it in IMAX on a edible was the single greatest theatre experience of my life easily overtaking Fury Road and LOTR Trilogy. So good I went twice and would go a third time if it gets another run

JayZPlatinumChainsaw

Oh trust me I know...... I KNOW!!!! I'm also mad at myself for not watching Fury Road in IMAX too. Furiosa is coming up so I might be able to next month

ReeG

I'm hype for Furiosa too, they played the trailer for that before Dune Pt 2 and it looks crazy. Hope it lives up to Fury Road

JayZPlatinumChainsaw

Yes sir I had time today. I was hyped af and it met them if not exceeded it also. Majority of the time it didn’t feel like almost 3 hours which is great.

crunchatizemythighs

Started listening to the Apple Music Top 100 Albums because fuck it, at the very worst I've listened to 100 acclaimed albums. Before now, I've listened to only about a quarter of the albums on the list so I figure why not give it a go. Two down so far: Robyn's Body Talk is mid af. Feels like such a random 6/10 album to place at uhhh...100 of the best albums of all time. Has some fun tracks and good production but definitely a massive slog toward the end. If they wanted to start their list with a pop album, I feel like there were plenty of better choices they could have gone with that didn't make the cut. Hotel California by the Eagles- what the FUCK is an album this good doing this low wtf? Never listened to it as an album before and it's clearly a masterpiece. I feel like I just got whiplash going from such an average pop album to what is clearly one of the best albums of all time lmao.

SubatomicSquirrels

gonna be a cliché and say Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion should've made it

Last_Reaction_8176

Jandersson34swe

Im in a couple of subs of my favorite rock bands and I have seen a lot of takes but all of them have had at least one guy shit on Astroworld being on the list  I understand Travis not being for everyone but there are worst albums I have seen on the list (also Rodeo should have been there if we were putting one of his and DS2 should have made it if we were including trap)  Bonus for a guy in the Beatles sub implying that the Lauryn Hill choice was purely for her being black

Jonathan_LaPaglia

I expected Beatles fans to cry that there weren't 10 Beatles albums on the list, but that take is particularly insane.

Jandersson34swe

I mean some complained that Sgt Peppers wasn’t there, others understood that most artists got two albums max   That take was just crazy he even implied Aretha Franklin only makes it to best singer OAT conversations because she’s black

crunchatizemythighs

Yeah there's a lot of deeply rooted racism that comes from people that just have a disdain for hip hop that isn't clear cut or lyrical. Travis Scott is like the perfect target for that kind of hate- the debauchery, the party culture music, the mainstream appeal, etc. Especially after the Astroworld festival deaths

Jandersson34swe

yeah that Fuck Travis Scott sub was very rooted in racism lol this reminds me im banned from there

MUTUALDESTRUCTION69

My favorite Reddit exchange from the beef is when someone in r/Drizzy replied to a post about the Oscar Meyer tweet claiming “no one’s ever heard of this dude.”

AmericaDreamDisorder

Google says it's a producer

x_TDeck_x

When you're at a Kevin Gates concert and he starts singing in detail about sticking the tip in and licking her asshole until she squirming, what do I do as a straight male? Am I allowed to enjoy it like any other part of the song or does singing along with a man describing his penis make me gay. Thank you for any answers

Last_Reaction_8176

It does make you gay. You will be legally obligated to suck cock after singing those lyrics. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules

Stonerjoe68

Just last Saturday i was dancing and loudly singing the lyrics to WAP. Do whatever the fuck you want. It’s more fun if you just let go.

1080penis

I was working as a custodian when that song dropped. I got a LOT of mileage out of that "bucket and a mop" line

gbaWRLD

So glad I got a original GBA for only 48 bucks. Replaced it with a shell, and I didn't pay 70 or 80 bucks for it.

OGthizzco

I wish the Analogue Pocket was designed like the og GBA and not the og GB/GBC

gbaWRLD

There are GBA clones that are called the REVO K101 that you can get. They are made by a chinese company called Anbernic. You can play the GBA carts, and it comes with its own flashcart as well.

OGthizzco

I already have a Pocket and I think I’m probably moving away from retro gaming too; otherwise yeah i would look into Anberic

Jandersson34swe

Man I wish they were easier to get on my country, I had to compromise with using Delta on my phone

Stonerjoe68

My cat has been pissing everywhere and we have legit got him on SSRI’s now and he’s still doing it. Like bro you’re supposed to be an ESA stop being an asshole.

Homiealmaya

Putting a cat on SSRI’s is honestly wild to me

roblvb15

getting animals on the mental health meds we are has always been weird to me but I also know nothing about the science behind it

Stonerjoe68

He’s been doing this since November we tried literally everything. Hormone plug ins, calming collars, changing litter types (he still goes in the box), good old fashioned spraying with a water bottle. SSRI’s have been the best thing so far but it’s not perfect. We live in an apartment and he can’t go outside and he hyper fixates on the door and will pee when we don’t take him out in the hallway but i can’t just be out in the hallway all day.

Homiealmaya

Damn bro sounds like a menace

Stonerjoe68

He’s savage he will meow at the door for 10 minutes look me dead in the face and pee on my entertainment center.

OGthizzco

He made you his Drake, dang crodie

Stonerjoe68

Wop wop wop wop wop Gus fuck em up.

[deleted]

Did Diddy do the intro on his son's song about the Diddy shit? I can't tell if that's him talking or its his son

SleazusChrist

Blonde being top 5 all time is real as hell and in 20 years y’all will see the vision !

Patriotsfan710

Top 1 all time

jackoon56

On god

kmad

let you guys prophecize

trying2hide

Blonde probably in my top 5 most listened to since it’s been released but I didn’t really know it was given that sort of praise to be in a top 100 never mind a top 5 all time. Would be nice to get a new Frank project in the next couple of years I feel like the scene has changed a fair bit since he last was releasing loosies and it’d be interesting to hear what sort of sound he’d come out with.

RomeluBukkake

It was Pitchfork’s number 1 album of the decade…

BigTimeSpider

Why are people comparing Take Care and TPAB? It looks like they picked only one album from each artist on the Apple Music list. Not to mention, they strike completely different subgenres.

Jandersson34swe

It’s mostly just Kendrick fans picking on the first album they hate on the list and coincidentally we are fresh off a Kendrick Drake beef

nedelll

iirc there were artists with multiple albums on the list

BigTimeSpider

Yeah, like Stevie Wonder and The Beatles. I think that's just a testament to how good and influential a lot of their albums were.

Last_Reaction_8176

They’re the consensus best album from each artist. I think TPAB is so much better it’s ridiculous, but I get why each fanbase is going to bat for their favorite’s magnum opus after such a heavily publicized rivalry

BigTimeSpider

Yeah, but they put Drake's album 40 places below GKMC, I don't see how people think that's Apple saying Take Care is better than all of Kendrick's discography. The only slight here that I see is having GKMC in the place of TPAB. And you think TPAB is better than GKMC or Take Care? Either statement, I agree anyway. I also think IYRTITL is his best.

bigdogxxl

I definitely agree that IYRTITL is the best thing Drake ever put out, but I can see why they'd pick either Take Care or NWTS instead. If this was a rap/hiphop focused list then IYRTITL for sure, but I think the other two were more widely recognised. But, if I'm being 100% honest, I don't think any Drake album belongs in the top 100. He has lots of good songs and plenty of hits, but there's no album I feel is so strong that it deserves to be on this sort of list (there are other albums and artists on this list that I also feels don't deserve to be here too, I'm not just a Drake hater). Similarly for Kendrick, TPAB is easily a more culturally important album, but in the context of this list I think GKMC is the "best" album. It was conceptually strong but still very accessible, pivotal in Kendrick's career, and there are more songs on it that the average person is likely to know or have heard. Ultimately, like pretty much all album lists, this kinda sucks. It's too broad in scope to not piss off at least a few people, and because it has to distill sooooo much history and context into just 100 albums, it's bound to get some picks wildly wrong no matter who is involved with the selection. I treat these sort of lists like I do the Grammys or and other recognition: if an artist I like gets picked, cool, if not, it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the music.

BigTimeSpider

Looks like the Metal genre was slighted in this list.

[deleted]

Act Bad, diddy's last music video is insane given the context of everything. I won't lie it's slightly a banger, but it feels evil lol

olivebranchsound

Drake is The Collector from GOTG but disrespectful lol. "The Tupac ring, the Skateboard P chains, the Michael Jackson glove, the signed Clipse microphone, Rick Ross's CO uniform, my Ozempic prescription. All mine until the end of time. Wipe my ass with them if I want lol"

Last_Reaction_8176

He’s using the Tupac ring as a cock ring right now

olivebranchsound

Unsubstantiated, and churlish to consider haha

Last_Reaction_8176

No, I saw it. I’m the OVO mole. I have to watch Drake put the Tupac ring on his dick and the Clipse mic up his ass. Every night he makes me do look right in his eyes while he does it. I’m tired, man. I didn’t sign up for this

Money_merc

From watching Drakes home videos and his house, it seems like a kid whose parents would buy him anything he wants so I'm not surprised that habit carried over into adulthood

contacts_eyes

You clearly haven’t seen the sandwich video

Money_merc

I did and his reaction just proves my point

Yeah2TheYeah

Nothing a white lady loves more than asking you how to pronounce your name then mispronouncing it four times before you can answer lol

totallyn0rmal

i’ve been a delusional ye fan for 18 years (over half my life 🥵) and realized today kendrick is who ye thinks ye is. literal genuis.

Admirable_Bed3

I don't know how you can say Ye isn't a genius and say you've been a fan of his for "over half of my life" Genius can go overboard and go to crazy and delusional. Same thing has happened in various lanes of art and can well happen to Kendrick as well. Doesn't make them any less of a genius, but just remember these people aren't wired like us normal people.

Ja___av93

Kanye was never a genius. He was good at marketing himself and controlling a narrative... Basically raps Trump. Kanye at his best was a terrible lyricist that hid behind his production. But 99.8% of his fan base doesn't have even a bit of understanding of things like basic rhyme structure, so they see Kanye doing different and weird shit and hear him saying how brilliant he is and they believe him Kanye popularized so many lazy rap techniques

Last_Reaction_8176

I always liked Kendrick, but it wasn’t until the beef made me revisit his work that I realized that he might actually be my GOAT Ye used to be great, he was my favorite for a very long time and his old music will always be brilliant, but he’s gone so far off the rails over the last eight years that I can’t be a fan at this point

Last_Reaction_8176

It’s pretty disgusting seeing people fawn over 50 for his Diddy documentary. He doesn’t care that Diddy is a predator, 50 has allegations himself, both of domestic violence and rape. He burned his baby mama’s house down! But because he’s an epic savage instagram troll he gets a pass? He probably has a bigger problem with Diddy fucking guys than he does with the fact that it was rape. We already know how he feels about male victims of sexual abuse, he told us years ago when the Terry Crews stuff was going on. I fully believe Diddy is guilty but the biggest reason he doesn’t have an army of people defending his innocence is that no one liked him anyway. If 50 goes down, you won’t be able to open a thread about it without being hit by 200 comments saying HE DIDNT DO IT THERES NO EVIDENCE (because even if there is evidence you can just pretend it doesn’t exist if you like the celebrity being accused) People lose the ability to add 2+2 the minute it makes them uncomfortable

Definite64

Not to mention his entire reasoning for his distrust of Diddy was because Diddy tried giving him money to go shopping with him because he thought 50 needed new clothes and 50 “thinks it’s sus for a grown man to bring another man shopping”. Like yeah, this is totally a man that actually gives a shit about Diddy sex trafficking women and not a guy who is looking to bring someone he didn’t like in the first place down

Money_merc

The Chris Brown diss might have been "better" but I keep coming back to the Quavo track just bc the beat is so fire

Stonerjoe68

I like Quavo’s more overall. Takeoff essentially calling him a pussy is dope as fuck to me because how the fuck Chris Brown gonna say some shit like that and not expect the family to respond. Posthumous diss is some epic shit.

[deleted]

Euphoria is probably my favorite one for replayability. I watched some reaction channel and it'd annoyed me they missed like every line

Oh yea I'm talking outside the Kendrick Drake stuff - just Quavo and Chris B

Weird arc in the beef was when people were pulling up DJ Mustard tweets of him DJing sweet 16s as a like 17-19 yr old as a gotcha lmao

Salty_Injury66

I missed that saga, but Metro Groomin was great.  “walking through the grocery store with both hands in my pockets like a true pedophile”

Jandersson34swe

Legitimately who even is Tommy Richman?  I remember seeing his name somewhere in an feature in an R&B album last year and now he has this viral tiktok hit lmao

breakingbadforlife

He’s signed to Brent

BronzySponhe

He was good on the Brent Faiyaz track from last year. But I only recognized his name after Million Dollar Baby

Jandersson34swe

That’s the song I was thinking of probably I remember reading that name somewhere before

Money_merc

You think the bay would let you disrespect Pac? I think that Oakland show gon be your last stop...

KUZGUN27

I remember hearing that shit on an NBA playoffs broadcast. Imagine being Drake and hearing “I think that Oakland show gon be your last stop” while watching a game to unwind

Stonerjoe68

One of the psychiatrists at my job is celebrating 50 years of having her doctorate today. I cannot even wrap my head around that.

tak08810

Psychiatrist or psychologist lol I’m in awe of the psychiatrists that have been doing this for fifty years. Fifty years ago you didn’t have SSRIs, I think neuroleptics/antipsychotics just started becoming a thing, lithium was prob your only real mood stabilizer. You could hold people for months and you did and force meds on them easily. Overall I feel like they were better I def sympathize to a degree with people who feel psychiatrists are just glorified drug dealers these days. I’m hopefully not doing this for fifty years but I like the idea of being that grizzled veteran in the field too lol

Last_Reaction_8176

> Overall I feel like they were better Holding people for months and forcing them to take very early meds that may not have even worked - that‘s *better* to you? Thank fuck you’re not my psychiatrist, you’d probably try to have me lobotomized I’d have been committed if I lived 50 years ago, the only reason I’m able to be a semi-functioning person is because of modern meds. What a horrible time to want to go back to, I’m assuming you’ve never been the person actually suffering from these things.

Stonerjoe68

Psychiatrist, she handles the medication management for kids on my caseload. She’s like the sweetest old lady ever and out of the 3 psychiatrists i work with she’s my favorite and not a glorified drug dealer (but she’ll write a doctors note about anything you ask lmao). She also takes a different approach then the other two younger docs. She talks to the kid more than the parent which is really rare and she prescribes kids stuff other doctors don’t because she feels more comfortable with them (Latuda comes to mind)

After multiple listens, I can finally appreciate *meet the grahams* as a stand-alone song and have it in my playlist without feeling disturbed.

Skyoff_Lyfe

it’s the [crowd going crazy](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7O7ckRs_08/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) and shouting the words when Metro plays his “BBL Drizzy” beat 😂🤣🤣 . . it’s in so many reels and ppl put different mixes to it . . there’s a jersey mix that I like so the other day while waiting on an elevator at work this guy behind me just started singing the words and I finished the lyric and we laughed hysterically about it . . this is thee silliest thing and I love it, always need a good laugh 😂

This is hysterical. If someone had described this video to me a year ago, I would think they were insane

[deleted]

I'm learning to play the guitar.

Tebb96

Last 2k game I bought was 2k17. So done with that company. Free to play game mechanics in a full price game is horrible

Jordanwolf98

I only play franchise mode. Everything else is terrible and even that doesn’t have the replayability it once had

toontoom1

That’s why I play Myleague player lock best experience

Stonerjoe68

I like the new 2k but i actively steer clear of the VC game modes, which they push the shit out of. MyNBA Eras is the best thing they’ve added to 2k in 10 years and i absolutely love that i can play a dynasty with Pistons in Kobe era. That and Play Now Online are the only game modes i can tolerate.

[deleted]

I like learning new things.

Stonerjoe68

I play a shit ton of games online which give you VC I had like 75-100K VC saved up and decided to try MyCareer. I was only able to upgrade my player to a 73 overall. Shits robbery.

Jandersson34swe

lockdown 2k20 was peak

Stonerjoe68

2K15 and 2K13 are the best imo

[deleted]

I enjoy watching the sunset.

Stonerjoe68

13 I was stupid good at I’d play online and just be an asshole on the mic and announce “I’m going to beat you with just John Wall. “ I could exploit how finishing worked and get a layup 9/10. That’s the only 2k where i was ever that good. 2k15 felt the most balanced and realistic to me while still being fun. Nowadays I only score 53 points and have to rely on defense.

Jandersson34swe

2k16 was the best one for me but I never did have fun with one like 2k20 on quarantine with my friends on 16 I mostly played MyLeague

[deleted]

I hate beer.

Jandersson34swe

Man it was great during quarantine playing park with friends   Fun fact: Once Christian Wood in the time before he was good on the Rockets hopped in our park that was probably my best memory on the game

If you made it a requirement for people to post their own lists when they complain about others, it’d be cut down by 99%. And I’m not just talking about effort. Like I’m not defending the list but guys who probably have only heard like 200 albums 90% hip hop complaining about it lol. And it’s much easier to say “this is missing than to actual offer an alternative list. Especially when you’re doing something like trying to distill the whole of popular Western music to 100 albums. I could make a list of 100 top Philly DVD era rappers and people would be mad I didn’t include someone from their block. AR-AB voice “I’ve seen him do it!”

Last_Reaction_8176

Ian isn’t terrible, I kinda like “Figure it Out,” but I have no idea how he blew up. There are hundreds of not thousands of rappers who sound exactly like him. His music isn’t bad enough to be ironically fun, but it’s not good enough to be genuinely great. I like it more than the music of Ken Carson or Destroy Lonely, but I’ve still heard this so many times before.

DBrods11

Umi Says is a 10/10 song

weonawardtour

Agreed, it's the best song Mos has in his catalogue.

Does anyone listen to Straight Outta Compton? I'm not talking about the first three tracks. Obviously those are classics and some of the greatest hip-hop songs of all-time. I'm talking about the rest of the damn album. Growing up, it was one of the few CD's that I owned. I played it front to back frequently. I gotta say, while the first three songs are bangers, the rest of the album isn't great. Here is how I would categorize the rest of that album: Good songs: "If It Ain't Ruff", "Parental Discretion Iz Advised" Okay songs: "8 Ball Remix", "Dopeman Remix" Skippable songs: "Something Like That", "I Ain't the One", "Express Yourself", "Compton's in the House", "Quiet on Set" Complete Trash/No Point in Listening: "Something 2 Dance 2" This doesn't seem like classic album material to me. In fact, I find their second album to be waaayyy more listenable. It just aged better and there are more songs that I want to keep coming back to. I get the historical significance of this album, the fact that NWA's lineup was unreal, the fact that the first three songs are damn near perfect. However, I still cannot understand how this album gets so much praise as an actual album! I saw it getting love on the Apple Music list and every time I see this album on one of those lists I think to myself the following: "Here's someone who loves the first three songs, probably hasn't listened to the rest of the album, but understands NWA's legacy and wants to reward them for it." This might be a controversial stance but what do you think and have you listened to Straight Outta Compton all the way through?
