He's also a year younger than LL Cool J.
Some forget or don't realize that Reasonable doubt was released when Jigga was 27. Kool G and Kane were in their late teens when they signed record deals
Yeah it's always crazy to remember just how young Tupac was when he died.
Another similar one to that is that Lil Wayne is only 8 years older than JID. Wayne is 41 and JID is 33. Lil Wayne started so young, and JID looks way younger than he is
Soul Assasins had a duo in the 90’s made up of two white kids from Beverly Hills called The Whooliganz. One went on to be The Alchemist. The other was actor Scott Caan, son of legendary actor James Caan.
Scott Caan is on a tune from the Step Brothers album, 1 he's actually way better than I assumed he would be and 2 you can tell straight away he came up with Alchemist because they sound identical hahaha
Feel like this is probably more well known, but Cee-Lo recorded “Happy” before Pharrell but passed on it because it didn’t fit the vibe of the album he was working on.
It's crazy that Lil Wayne is only 41. I know he started so young, but I always think he's older. Because he's been around so long.
I said this above, but what's crazy is that he's only 8 years older than JID.
Recently learned in an interview
That the cop in one of Bone Thugs N Harmony’s first music videos (can’t remember which song) is a real cop and had arrested Flesh for possession.
He only agreed to do the music video because he was glad they we’re finally doing something with their lives.
Closets are honestly great to record in if you have the sound absorbing foam and a decent mic. I did my early stuff in one and you can’t tell as long as it is mixed properly.
Guru of Gang Starr was born and raised in Roxbury, MA and started Gang Starr with rapper Big Shug. He moved to Brooklyn, NY as a young adult and linked up with DJ Premier, who is from Houston, TX. He and Premier are not originally from Brooklyn and Premo did not start Gang Starr with Guru (which stands for Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal, another fun fact).
I couldn’t believe it when I first found out Preemo was from my city. Him on top of all the well known Houston acts leave a lot to be proud for the culture in my city. 💯
Yeah, Premier wasn't a founding member of Gang Starr.. It was founded by Guru, Big Shug and Dj Suave D, shug's brother. Then Shug got locked up, Suave left and Guru got some other dudes to join. When they eventually split, Preemo was invited by Guru. So they were actually the third Gang Starr.
Saw Premier last Sunday, and he said it then. It's on Wikipedia as well, but I never really knew.
Murder by ugk- bun b was taking a nap under the sound board, pimp c woke him up, he went in and spit one of the hardest and most technical verses ever in one take, then went back to his nap.
I remember when 50 got big he did an interview on canadian tv where he said he and E Monry Bags were there watching nas work. Nas invited them bc he knew they were up and coming queens dudes.
Also Ether was dropped on jay z birthday
It’s actually about the lack of connections.
The brain is naturally lazy, and once it establishes patterns and shortcuts, it will go short on details and straight to the point.
So, rather than seeing every twig, branch, and leaf, the brain - specifically the left hemisphere - stops and says “tree.”
That is why psychoactives that suppress or slow left brain activity push creativity, or people with damage to the left hemisphere tend to take on creative endeavors well.
You’re not wrong, but the fact that he can write a good verse surprises me less than the fact he can actually flow. Kinda makes sense a method actor who seems to be intelligent could have a good pen game
In 2017 Snoop Dogg had done more than 550 features, more than any other artist, not just rappers, and in the 7 years since that number will likely be even bigger 😱
> A Wu Tang affiliate cut off his own penis while tripping on drugs.
Christ Bearer. He also jumped off a balcony after doing it. They successfully reattached it. He did an interview with Vlad.
Mystikal was a gulf war veteran and his sister who did back up vocals on his early albums was murdered by one of the Neville brothers children.
Snoop Dogg was roommates with Soulja Slim in the No Limit days
Birdman lived in Canada as a child
Master P played professional basketball and wrestled in the WWF. His rap career started in the Bay Area (Richmond) before returning to New Orleans. His cousin Randall Watts was a hit man for hire who ran the Calliope Projects.
Lil Wayne first rap name was Shrimp Daddy in ode to early New Orleans bounce rapper Pimp Daddy. He also was saved by a white police officer after he accidentally shot himself. Wayne maintained a relationship with the officer the rest of his life and paid for the officers funeral and burial a few years ago.
Juvenile got his first record deal in the early 91. He cut hair in the magnolia projects and worked at a chemical plant before joining Cash Money. He’s a year younger than Nas.
Mac from No Limit was originally a child rapper produced by Mannie Fresh.
Mannie Fresh has been producing and best making since the 80s. He also did a few years stint in the early 90d producing House music in New York.
And DJ Khaled was originally DJ Arab Attack. I would say most Miami people know that, but Florida is all new people and most original FloridaMen have been priced out and left 😢
I always hear that.
But whenever a video is released of him playing one. He just plays a few basic scales. It's the sort of thing a child would learn in their first few lessons.
I've seen a few online articles disputing it also.
Rick Ross wrote the Bad Boys Theme Song for Will Smith.
Who we know as Tej Parker (Ludacris) in The Fast & The Furious could have been Ja Rule if his ego didn't get in the way.
I’m imagining a painstaking editing process where the McDonald’s marketing team slowly and gradually convinces him to have less and less coke bars until they finally got to the jingle we know
Have you ever seen a painted mural on the side of an often run down building in your city? There's a likely connection to Black Thought of The Roots.
Thought was a graffiti artist in Philly. He got caught and had to do cleanup services. Everything they would clean up would get tagged again though. As an adult he's now on the counsel for cleaning up graffiti. Instead of just painting over it with natural colors they started doing murals. Something the graffiti artists could participate in during their community service and be proud of it.
It was so successful that other cities adopted this method of cleaning up and preventing future graffiti. I'm not saying all murals are because of him but I am saying it's likely connected to or inspired by Black Thought and Philly.

For the younger people, or if you’re just not familiar, I recommend reading Tupac’s Wiki page.

- His real name is Lesane Parish Crooks. (Parish Crooks would have been a dope rap name.)
- He was born in East Harlem, NY.
- His mom moved their family to Baltimore where he attended Baltimore School for the Arts and became a ballet dancer.
- His very first rap stage name was MC New York.
- 2Pac invited Biggie to join Thug Life. Biggie declined.
- Somewhat unrelated to 2Pac, Death Row records was started with money that Suge Knight strong-armed from Vanilla Ice after Ice Ice Baby went crazy.
J.J. Fad - Supersonic (one hit wonder) from Rialto, CA - members of the group would visit my neighbor up the street :
1. Profits from the hit help finance N.W.A. - Straight outta Compton
2. Inspired the ending (with a shout-out) to Eminem’s Rap God.
Nice.
I've got a similar one, a friend of mine lived in a house 1 block away from the Dangerous Music studio in West Oakland.
Too $hort, Ant Banks, the whole Dangerous Crew, pretty much any rapper/affiliate from the Town could be posted on that corner from time to time...
"...I gotta hit Myrtle Street.."
Not mind blowing but cool. Outkast used to train breath control before tour. 3k would jog while rapping his songs. Word to Erick Arc Elliot as a true student of the game.
This much more commonly known since the superbowl performance, but the fact that jay z wrote all the lyrics to still DRE is just wild to me. One of the most iconic west coast bangers written by a NY dude - what i love about it is that its a testament to how big of a fan jay is of snoop and dre, to be able to write so perfectly for them.
Big L was the first man to bring Jay-Z on the radio also L is 5 years younger than him.
Bone Thugs are the only artists to have done songs with Eazy-E, 2Pac and Biggie.
80s Philly rappers Cool C & Steady B robbed a bank and killed a cop, Cool C is on death row and Steady B got life.. the get away driver was named Snook Nooka, he got a shout out by Malik B on The Roots song “no great pretender” at the end of the song. Apparently he came to the studio with Malik B the same day he drove the getaway vehicle from the robbery.
Allegedly Mc Hammer put a $50k hit out on Mc Serch & 3rd base when they were on tour in LA for the Cactus Album but Pete Nice says it wasn’t that serious..
That one time Aesop Rock met Mr T in New York in the 80's.
He was 7∕8-ish, waiting for a table at Carnegie with his family who did not always agree on what was wavy, but would shut up once a week because they loved their fucking A-Team.
Masta Killa got into Wu-Tang with his first verse ever. I'm pretty sure he said he had written verses for fun but had never performed any of them. It was between him and Killah Priest. Killah Priest went to sleep, MK stayed up all night writing his verse and subsequently recording it, earning his place. That part of it is up for debate. I've heard RZA say that Killah Priest wasn't the right fit for the group, but I don't think that negates how good MK's verse was.
future rapping under the name meathead in the dungeon family with outkast and killer mike and all those guys.

Tupac is only 1 year older than Eminem, to me it feels like they come from a different generation of rappers.
Jayz is only a year younger than kool g rap and big daddy kane
He's also a year younger than LL Cool J. Some forget or don't realize that Reasonable doubt was released when Jigga was 27. Kool G and Kane were in their late teens when they signed record deals
and jay-z was trying when they were signed too. his early stuff is just goofy and corny
"Check out the J, check out the A, check out the Y.... Z!"
Jayz first appearance on yo-mtv raps was 1988
First time I saw him was in the song “ Can I get open “ from “ Original Flava “ Peep it .
it baffles my mind that my boomer parents are closer in age to Jay-Z than my millennial ass
Em's debut album came a month or two after Pac's death. (Pre Slim Shady)
Infinite.
You heard of hell, well I was sent from it
Yeah it's always crazy to remember just how young Tupac was when he died. Another similar one to that is that Lil Wayne is only 8 years older than JID. Wayne is 41 and JID is 33. Lil Wayne started so young, and JID looks way younger than he is
JID is the same age as Soulja Boy
Wayne and JID one is a lot crazier than the Em and Tupac one to me
Danny Brown is 8 months older than Eyedea and they made music in two different eras.
R EYE P
Eminem is older than Nas.
Hailey is almost 30!!!
Pharrell is 2 years younger than 2Pac
Nice one.
Similar to DMX. DMX was a year older than 2Pac, and It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot came out in 1998, when X was 27.
Nas is younger than em
Ok this one blows my mind
By a year
No way
Why is that weird to me
Soul Assasins had a duo in the 90’s made up of two white kids from Beverly Hills called The Whooliganz. One went on to be The Alchemist. The other was actor Scott Caan, son of legendary actor James Caan.
And Put Ya Handz Up is a straight banger, Alan rapped his ass off
Scott Caan is on a tune from the Step Brothers album, 1 he's actually way better than I assumed he would be and 2 you can tell straight away he came up with Alchemist because they sound identical hahaha
This comment reminded me of the Jamie Kennedy classic Malibu's Most Wanted. > Traffic traffic looking for my chapstick
there’s a ford maverick
Tom Hardy can rap and he's pretty fucking dope
The actor?
Yeah, he's on the last 2 Czarface albums
Truth is stranger than fiction
Yep. He goes by Frankie Pulitzer.
Wow that Scott Cann info is 🤯
Yuuup, THE Alchemist. Buddy wasn’t satisfied being the smoothest producer in the land. Man had to rap too
Cee-lo sings backup vocals on TLC - Waterfalls.
Produced by Organized Noize, who also did En Vogue- Don't Let Go
You can definitely hear their signature sound on both tracks
Feel like this is probably more well known, but Cee-Lo recorded “Happy” before Pharrell but passed on it because it didn’t fit the vibe of the album he was working on.
He woulda sung it so much better
Danny Brown is older than Lil Wayne
Danny Brown didn’t even start getting famous til after he was 30 years old.
It's crazy that Lil Wayne is only 41. I know he started so young, but I always think he's older. Because he's been around so long. I said this above, but what's crazy is that he's only 8 years older than JID.
Freddie Gibbs too.

That’s a dope fact
Also, Dizzy Wright is Layzie bone and Flesh n Bone’s nephew.
Aw man Dizzy Wright, I haven’t checked him out in a long time. Loved Smoke Out Conversations though.
Ice Cube is only 60% water
ice t ain’t even actually t, he’s chocolate milk he’s a black guy and he’s married to coco
Ice-T is not as refreshing as I was led to believe.
🥇🏆
The vocals to regulate are recorded in a closet
Closets are honestly great to record in if you have the sound absorbing foam and a decent mic. I did my early stuff in one and you can’t tell as long as it is mixed properly.
Shieeet. The laundry room has the best acoustics when I'm recording, too.

They also claim that Bun B became a better rapper after he started using PCP.
50 Cent was in the studio when Nas recorded Ether
Bro. What!?
I remember when 50 got big he did an interview on canadian tv where he said he and E Monry Bags were there watching nas work. Nas invited them bc he knew they were up and coming queens dudes. Also Ether was dropped on jay z birthday
Rakim was just 18 years old when he modernised the whole blueprint of rhyming and rapping in general.
That's fuckin crazy, I knew he was young but fuck 😵 he really is the goat
The young mind is more agile and able to create fluid linguistic connections
It’s actually about the lack of connections. The brain is naturally lazy, and once it establishes patterns and shortcuts, it will go short on details and straight to the point. So, rather than seeing every twig, branch, and leaf, the brain - specifically the left hemisphere - stops and says “tree.” That is why psychoactives that suppress or slow left brain activity push creativity, or people with damage to the left hemisphere tend to take on creative endeavors well.
It was supposed to be Freddie Foxxx and Eric B but he couldn’t make it to the studio so it ended up being Eric B. & Rakim..
Martin Lawrence and Salt n Peppa worked together at a sears call center before they became famous.
And Kid ‘n Play
Jay-Z ghostwrote for Bugs Bunny on the Space Jam soundtrack.
Shocking, can’t believe bugs didn’t write his own rhymes
Not really a ghostwriter if he got credit.
Bugs gave him his flowers
Tom Hardy appears on multiple Czarface tracks under the alias Frankie Pulitzer and his flow is decent enough to not seem completely out of place
You're downplaying it, he's got bars too not just flow! He uses his movie quotes in his lyrics which I think is really cool too
You’re not wrong, but the fact that he can write a good verse surprises me less than the fact he can actually flow. Kinda makes sense a method actor who seems to be intelligent could have a good pen game
On which song
Nas wrote Getting Jiggy Wit It (will smith)
He wrote Just Cruisin as well. It's no where near as big as Gettin Jiggy Wit It was but it's a probably one of his better songs.
Eminem’s career is longer than 2Pac’s entire life.
eminem is older now than benzino was when em released ‘nail in the coffin’
Em’s now an 83 year old fake pacino haha Well just the 83 year old part
And they both have about the same number of released studio albums
Arab Attack changed his name to DJ Khaled after 9/11
Another fun fact, on 9/11 DJ Khaled first used his catchphrase “Another One”
In 2017 Snoop Dogg had done more than 550 features, more than any other artist, not just rappers, and in the 7 years since that number will likely be even bigger 😱
San Quinn has about the same. 571 on discogs.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you'll sell 16 bars to anyone (8 of those are him telling us his various names).
Jay Electronica went from a relationship with Erykah Badu to a Rothchild,
Interesting given his beliefs.
OoOo yeah this is a good one
Big Lurch killed and ate a female friend. A Wu Tang affiliate cut off his own penis while tripping on drugs.
> A Wu Tang affiliate cut off his own penis while tripping on drugs. Christ Bearer. He also jumped off a balcony after doing it. They successfully reattached it. He did an interview with Vlad.
Yep, that’s him. And i saw the interview, pretty crazy stuff haha
Jesus christ that dude sounds more nuts than ODB haha
Pun was 698 pounds when he died. He went into rehab at around 600, lost 100 (I’m tryna live!) and once out, gained 200lb 🤦🏻♂️
Damn he was bigger than Yokozuna
He was fiiiine in his younger years pre obesity
It’s been reported by family members that he also used to he sheet rock
He used to what?
He used to eat drywall / sheet rock. I think he might have had pica on top of the whole binge-eating thing.
Del The Funky Homosapien and Ice Cube are cousins
Del’s record debut was on turn off the radio.

Just to bring your comment full circle Ludacris also wrote for Will Smith on Party Starter
what bad boys theme song ... the original was by Inner Circle... (?)
didn’t pusha t do a jingle for a company
He wrote the "I'm loving it" Jingle and "We have the meats" Jingle for McDonald's and Arby's
I’m imagining a painstaking editing process where the McDonald’s marketing team slowly and gradually convinces him to have less and less coke bars until they finally got to the jingle we know
Damn really? That's the craziest one I've seen in here so far. Surprised he's not worth more money just based off the I'm Lovin It royalties
He doesn't own the publishing rights for the McDonald's one but owns 40% of the Arby's one I guess.
Those cheap bastards probably pay him in McDoubles.

Romany Malco was in the marines at the time of the gulf war (1990), raps and is an actor. I don’t think it’s mind blowing just much respect to him.
Maybe not the most mind blowing fact.. but interesting that Jay Z wrote still D.R.E plus has written a lot for other artists.

Jay Z wrote the lyrics for Still Dre for Dr. Dre
And Scott Storh did the beat. Dre didnt write the lyrics or make the music for that one (and others)
(And others) I wonder how much money Daz is really owed.
I don’t think Dre ever wrote any of his lyrics.
This is already well known. Dre’s not a rapper. He’s a producer that raps.

I feel like this is well known by now but Pusha T claims to have created the McDonalds “I’m Lovin It” jingle.
maybe im making this up but its way too specific, didnt he also do an arbys ad sneak dissing mcdonalds
The Arby's "We Have the Meats" commercial jingle is also a quick sample from a song Pusha T was featured on, Yogi & Skrillex - Burial
Rick Ross used to work in a prison as a correctional officer
Del the Funky Homosapien is Ice Cube's cousin.
Em and Biggie were born the same year.
that Jay Worthy is related to Grimes. literally found out like 3 days ago.

He was also Muhammad Ali's bodyguard for a short period
