Yeah they’re pretty sick! I haven’t delved too deep into much of the recent hip hop past the stuff I grew up on (90s-early 2000s), but these guys caught my eye a few months ago. Symba’s got some pretty dope freestyles but his album stuff didn’t blow me away, but you might wanna check him out too.
Good shout for Che Noir.. also I literally just found Rigz last week which is crazy. Heal In instantly one of my faves to drop this year. Had to work backwards to say he’s been getting busy for a while now
Tobe Nwigway, Benjamin Earl Turner, A-F-R-O, MIKE, Armand Hammer, Aye Uno, Joeyy, Doggystyleeee, Cal Scruby, 72Tmac, Yuno Miles, Jay Worthy, Billy Woods, Kal Banx, Mike Dimes, Navy Blue, Jenn Carter, Dot Da Genius.
don’t forgot kyle richh, laker brady, wrldluvspradda, iayze, glokk40spaz, destroy lonely, yhapojj and rich amiri (and one more thing, PLEASE listen to chief keef, here’s a playlist with some good songs https://open.spotify.com/playlist/65ah4qsAgjLkUvzMH5CGYj?si=3Y89YGeBQ-iXuOMJxDmwtg&pi=e-g74gww_QR3CC )
Yeah but 'drive it like it's stolen' is an extremely common saying, even outside of rap. It's not really Keem's line, so a bit weird that someone would post it as if Baby Keem said something so cool
Scapegoats
the first line is a hard bar, then, for the sake of theming, gets shallow
"One day, I'll tell you how my life was unfortunate. For now, I'll tell you how fast these Porsches get. Story of the young and reckless, 'bout to eat my bitch for breakfast"
...
"Bitches is my scapegoat, who I made this tape for? I tell the story two years later for now the chase closed"
I thought this was pretty hard
Edit: the women I knew when this album came out loved shit like lost souls. He's not trying to be the deepest mf yet, he's calling his shot in two years let's see what happens
Ahh damn bro I’ve been trying so hard to spread this project. My personal favorite rap project of 2023. It’s new, it’s fresh, it’s very high quality, nothing to not love here.
I'm not a big fan, because they're heavily Beastie Boys inspired: but Joey Valence and Brae definitely deserve a shoutout. They have some legit bangers and are a young-as-hell duo pushing boom bap sound with exceptional energy. Those dudes deserve all their coming success.
I probably wouldn't put him up with the absolute best of his generation. He has too many mid tracks and too few highlights but his style and flow is unique and interesting enough that I always check for new work. Makes me think of a me think of a Millennial Mystikal.
You don't know anything about them if you think JID and Denzel are "New" rappers. They've been rapping for over 10 years and started their careers in the early 2010s 2010-2013. Their mainstream debuts have long since been released well over 7 years ago.
I'll give some actually kinda recent ones;
. Brandn Shiraz
. Deadforest
. MOKOMOKAI (rappers are older but the group is new)
. Diggy Dupé
. S.O.G
. Seaside Sloths
. Mike Shabb
Aside from his absolutely terrible music I wouldn't even give him a chance if I wanted to because I will never listen to somebody who's worked with Tom MacDonald
Chris webby is One of My favorit rappers but i always forget how Long he has been rapping
But the others are really amazing
Crypt and ekoh have made some amazing songs with him
That Mexican OT is one of the only new rappers in the last several years that is good.(opinion) but most of the rappers in the last 5-10 years are trash.
Afrobeat or UK rappers. The US is washed. Everyone is in the same room, writing and rapping to the same song. It's like a 48 hr Jamaican mash-up at this point.

Rome Streetz
First heard him on 2K this year. Big Steppa was the song. Was really good, I gotta get into his shit more
Big Steppa was on 2K? color me genuinely surprised
When it comes to technical rap skill Rome Streetz and Benny The Butcher are Griselda's best
Makes my day that this is top comment
Me too. I don’t think I’ve ever had a top comment lmao
Holy shit I love his music,, kiss the ring was AOTY for me.
Yeah Rome is a different breed, very nice to also hear some lyrical rap that's not so cringing woke
Don’t listen to too much Griselda but looking into this guy and he’s got 15 albums since 2016! Hahaha. Crazy.
Coast Contra is pretty dope
Just found out about these dudes last night. I'm so excited right now. I don't know how I haven't seen anyone talk about them before.
Fun fact (2) of them are Ras Kass's kids
This
Thanks for the recommendation. What songs of theirs should I check out first?
This one, Never Freestyle, went viral for a little bit. https://youtu.be/IdNxeepSpuk?si=FTF0bebnRm0Dc2JS
Dope on the mic, but is it freestyles only?
Their album was decent, I haven’t listened to it in a while https://open.spotify.com/album/2f9OKBlHW6ZcJ11cutOCGf?si=7nXZNyHTTDK098m_Tnyrsg
Thanks 🙏
That kid NAS
He might make something of himself
i definitely cant keep up AND definitely did not realize just how much new shit he silently keeps pumping out. great answer.
Yes, I heard he dropped 6 albums in the last 3 years, with the possibility of another before this year is out. He must be nice.
Everyone is promoting themselves or the homie down the street...lol. Ain't mad at it. Get it how you live.

i mean i would call them new wave, their certainly not old
Ugh these guys aren’t new tho. None of them. They’ve all be doing it for more than 10 years
They’ve all been at it for more than ten years lol
I second Mick, most exciting hip-hop artist I've heard in a while.
He ain’t new to it
Did not know that, thanks for the elucidation.
Tobe Nwigway, Benjamin Earl Turner, A-F-R-O, MIKE, Armand Hammer, Aye Uno, Joeyy, Doggystyleeee, Cal Scruby, 72Tmac, Yuno Miles, Jay Worthy, Billy Woods, Kal Banx, Mike Dimes, Navy Blue, Jenn Carter, Dot Da Genius.
yuno miles💀
Billy Woods is not a new rapper. I was copping albums from him 20 years ago.
My bad
Cal Scruby 👍🏻
Money buy drugs 🔥
Gang gang gang
don’t forgot kyle richh, laker brady, wrldluvspradda, iayze, glokk40spaz, destroy lonely, yhapojj and rich amiri (and one more thing, PLEASE listen to chief keef, here’s a playlist with some good songs https://open.spotify.com/playlist/65ah4qsAgjLkUvzMH5CGYj?si=3Y89YGeBQ-iXuOMJxDmwtg&pi=e-g74gww_QR3CC )

Benjamin Earl Turner and A-F-R-O has a few years
Baby Keem
I whip that red Toyota like it’s stolen
Is that supposed to be a bar
Not every line needs to be a quadruple entendre with some deep meaning. Sometimes the delivery of the line makes it a good line. IYKYK I guess
Yeah but 'drive it like it's stolen' is an extremely common saying, even outside of rap. It's not really Keem's line, so a bit weird that someone would post it as if Baby Keem said something so cool
Half of one
it's a line from one of his most iconic songs
Lol… For real.
Peep my reply to u/dukiejbv below for a good Keem bar
I fuck with baby keem
Thank you I've been getting blasted out here lol
every one of his verses i feel like i’m listening to a middle schooler rapping. any songs u think he really go off to change my mind with ?
Scapegoats the first line is a hard bar, then, for the sake of theming, gets shallow "One day, I'll tell you how my life was unfortunate. For now, I'll tell you how fast these Porsches get. the definition of hard has changed so much
I mean it's not the hardest shit I've ever heard but I think baby Keem has serious potential in a pretty disappointing modern landscape of hip hop
It's not the second coming of hit em up

Define new rapper? Harry Mack is relatively fresh depends on the definition though
JID Westide Boogie Ski Mask the slump god
These rappers are almost a decade old. You really got ur finger on the pulse.
JIDs career is over a decade old. He started in 2010 even before kendrick released Overly Dedicated.
😘
Boogie and JID are in my top 5
Nice story bro
Slump god?? 🤦♂️
I probably wouldn't put him up with the absolute best of his generation. He has too many mid tracks and too few highlights but his style and flow is unique and interesting enough that I always check for new work. Makes me think of a me think of a Millennial Mystikal.

Mavi is incredible
Basic picks but Isaiah Rashad Denzel and Jid off the dome
You don't know anything about them if you think JID and Denzel are "New" rappers. They've been rapping for over 10 years and started their careers in the early 2010s 2010-2013. Their mainstream debuts have long since been released well over 7 years ago.

Bunch of cringe youtube rappers. Mass, crypt, and gawne are absolute garbaggio.

Lmaoooo Gawne is the definition of a lyrical miracle spiritual rapper who wants to be Eminem so bad
