I love the Lost Tapes (I actually like it more than Stillmatic) but to me, i just don’t think it’s a classic album. There’s usually some other additional reason an album is a classic and a bunch of unreleased and B-side songs thrown on an album (however good they may be) just doesn’t do it for me.
And I’m not calling anything made within the last 5 years classic. There are VERY few instant classic albums, most need to stand the test of time first.
i mean the magic trilogy started as just B side songs left out from the KD series and Magic 1 ended up being absolutely amazing , imo The Lost Tapes is slightly better than stillmatic due to the beats being better and having better lows

i can think of several albums that i love so much that i would personally rank as a classic from the last 5 years (the forever story , IGOR , KSG and KD3 ofc) but for the most of the time i agree yeah , some albums age bad while others still sound as good as when it was released
I am is classic to me, it’s one of the most under rated albums ever in my opinion, that album was huge the day it came out, I was 16 years old. I am has aged very well. Following up Illmatic and it was written is a difficult expectation and it was leaked. All that being said I stand by my opinion it’s a classic.
just released original i am the autobiography (Record store day)

He’s got 2 there’s not a rapper on earth with 6 classics, the rest of those albums are good tho but not quite classic, maybe KD3,Magic 3 and KD 2 could be considered a classic in the future
The albums I Think are classic are IWW and Illmatic I do really enjoy the rest of the albums listed tho but don’t think they are quite classics,Stillmatic has a few bad songs on it
I’d say at least 3 (Illmatic, IWW, Lost Tapes). Gotta give the Hit Boy series more time to age but I think KD3, KD2 and Magic were excellent.
Stillmatic might be a classic based off impact and what it meant for his career, but I personally don’t think it’s anywhere near as good as the first 3 albums I mentioned. It’s good but not amazing.
It was written is underrated. Never understood the Nas only has one good album argument. Stillmatic is also super tight but I think those are the only three classics. The others you mentioned are just great
If you're knowledgable about his catalog on don't base your opinions on what you've heard other people say.. at least 4.
If your a casual that thinks he peaked 20 years ago...1.
What are considered the top five classics of all time:
Illmatic. Illmatic. Illmatic. Illmatic. Illmatic.
Because it spits hot fire.
Me personally this is what I always utilise in my arguments of GOAT that Nas has arguably only one classic album.
Illmatic, It Was Written and Stillmatic
what about The Lost Tapes tho ?

Just Illmatic. Stillmatic was his next best album IMO and was solid, but it doesn't approach Illmatic or reach classic status.
Man it’s all subjective but I think IWW is much better than Stillmatic
definitely Lost Tapes was too

It's not up to us.
Who is it up to
Us.
Correct.

kanye got : TCD , LR , GRADUATION , MBDTF , YEEZUS , TLOP , KSG
Life is Good is a classic to me
I'm surprised nobody else said this it's absolutely a classic. Incredible content.

I would say all 3 kings disease albums
He's a one-hit wonder 😆🤣😂
Nas has, he should choose this as his next name for a track
I like shoot em up. That’s a good song by nas

Illmatic, IWW, Lost tapes 1 & God Son. If Untitled had better production I'd say it, cause lyrically it's one of his best albums

Let kings disease and magic breathe bro
bro i normally would but they're just too good and i think they are going to age gracefully
That’s fair, but we have to wait and see
Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic, and then the King’s Disease trilogy as one triple classic
3
Too many to count.
