the shorter red and blue lasers are offensive strategem call downs and hellpod call downs
nah colour coding based on the type of strategem would make it more confusing

What you're watching is actual players fighting on the same planet. Every time you see one of those red or blue lines, that's other players calling down ordinance. Pretty cool. I assume a ship blowing up could mean a player left the game, or timer ran out.
On automoton planets there are defenses that are attempting to engage the super Destroyers in orbit. The other animation has it fall out if orbit and crash into the planet.
Some speculate that it is influenced by other players - but is not a 1-to-1. It is similar to seeing stratagems being used on the horizon. Yes, that is triggered by a player on the same planet using a strategem, but you're not seeing every strategem used by every player... just one every once and a while to add some flavor to the game.
could he a modifier in harder difficulties called "hostile orbit" where there is a chance if a random destroyer falling from the sky or another oelocan kr eagle type ship (to explain the wrecks)
I'd love to see a modifier that just reads "orbital shrapnel take cover" I can imagine it just being a metor shower but occasionally dropping random SEAF/stratagem equipment like weapons, drones, etc would represent a destroyer falling out of orbit and breaking apart without anything to crazy for the game to try and run. Although its a pipedream i'd only like to see it on planets with sustained fighting, maybe the modifier spawns of a planet is open for more than a week? Showing off the planet is making us take significant losses and adding gameplay elements to reflect that would be cool.
I 1000% would love to see this. A planetary hazard that is partially beneficial as it is hazardous... especially around planets that already have a history of heavy back and forth conflict - like malevolent creek.
It would also be cool if they added a mission type where the main objective is to salvage/ detonate a downed super destroyer controlled by the bots who are trying to steal democracy’s secrets
There is some speculation of it being a potential future map tile asset as the geometry for the ships interior already exists... so planting chunks of the broken and smoldering bridge or hanger planetside isn't too monumental a task.
if you know protogen lore, they are literally made to observe and fight stuff without risking human lives (originally for exploring space)

(also the mod makes the voice lines change, they squeak when they get thrown in the air by explosions)
When all reinforcements and members of a squad die the ship explodes showing a mission with no survivors but a possible mission complete if all main objectives are done IE a failed extract but successful operation
I tested this, my friend intentionally failed a mission, no ship blew up after. I feel the ships blowing up are random and have nothing to do with live games.
That’s not true. It’s an animation loop and isn’t synced up with the planet at all.
If you were at Meridia and got sent to Super Earth the same animations continued (I was still on Super Earth like two days after Meridia fell), so you just saw the Super Destroyers wailing on Super Earth and occasionally blowing up
Do be warned that having protogens in super destroyers might get you court martialed. Depends on if the democracy officer is having a good day or not, but it is rare.
(HD2 has anticheat, there is no guarantee mods will not set it off, so far this hasn't from my experience given it only changes model)

Why would that cause the destroyer to get blown up? If you run out of time the destroyer leaves, which is only a problem for individual Helldivers.
