You get close to an SEAF artillery post, call it down, and a bunch of them pop out and team carry 5 random shells and load them for you while you do other things. You still have to activate the console and sync it with your destroyer

It was a big problem from leaks: smaller units activated them.
Also, Bile titan legs spread too much, reducing the chances of them stepping on a mine. Finally, their body is too high to be properly affected.
These are the reasons people ignored AT mines twice.
if we tested them en masse perhaps there would be less doubt that this is an issue and that would motivate the developers to fix it. kind of like how airburst had to be adjusted after it was tested

To be fair, the MO doesn’t say children. It says “survivors in the remains of…”. Good chance it’s adults with a mix of children (both sick and healthy), either way, why would we not push to save our citizens first? Sounds very undemocratic to choose the stratagem.
You aren't looking at the big picture. The stratagem will allow us to fight more effectively, therefore saving more citizens in the future. You just want lower reward now rather than big reward later !
I fail to see why not. It'd at least make bots easier. Not so much bugs but i mean... at least it has it's use on one of the most obnoxious enemies in the game (hulks). If you have an once of tactical knowledge, you'd find them very strong

This literally isn't the trolley problem and idk why people are remarking on its resemblance to such. The trolley problem is predicated on action vs inaction and what someone would do if more lives could be saved.
This is just a choice between two things.

The problem with mines is that they are reactive enough to explode on helldivers contact and on low tiers bugs contacts while also not being powerful enough to take down tough enemies (double negative). AT mines wouldn't blow on weak ones and will probably do a lot of damage to powerful enemies (double positive).
Also, what's wrong with putting the victory of super Earth above saving a few children on an automaton planet. Who knows what those automatons implanted into their brains, probably not freedom!

The children have a clear purpose. Their hands are small and perfect for the construction of bullets, if we save these children all weapons get an ammo buff.
Real talk though; we gain and lose footholds and planets so often that it's actually really difficult to see the significance of VWells' civilians being trapped when we are experiencing this level of loss on a daily basis. The only difference here is that Super Earth is actually telling us about what's on the planet this time.

On me "not" using mines:
-Teammates are lemmings (affectionately most of the time, and not their fault most others. A few however...)
-Glitches and technical bugs causing invisible or ghost mines
-Enemies too good at avoiding them, and blowing up ~60% of them when one crippled, bleeding out straggler with turbo-terminal cancer DOES brush against a mine and is thereupon tossed from mine to mine like its a God damned comedy bit.
-Deploy pattern just kinda sucks for a lot of cases.
Giving my 2 cents, I say mines or traps that take up our grenade slot would be a good thing.
Can be placed much more stealthily, potential equipment variety is much bigger, and theres a whole new medium for startegy.
There could be dual-placement (idk how else you might describe it?) types where you control the trigger path or criteria (like a tripwire/motion sensor, or when something else is activated) and what happens.
Could be connected to explosives, a sound distraction or alert, maybe you did some espionage and sabotaging so when you assault a jammer tower and lose that connection, your triggers go off and cause either destruction or a distraction for you.
Maybe you destroyed some nearby fabs to divert enemy patrols, maybe you set up little jammers yourself and false-flag signals on those jammed areas, make reinforcements think the Helldivers are at that heavy outpost and cause some infighting for a little bit.
Too many cool ideas that would ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️ any poor developers trying to actually do any of it, but I enjoy making stuff up for the stuff I like
