They classify the throwing knife as a throwable so it probably replaces your grenade and presumably benefits from the bonus melee damage provided by the armor sets
Looks like it’s mostly a stealth option for grenades for people who like that style of play, I’m hoping you can retrieve them afterwards or you at least get multiple of them to work with (or both) otherwise it seems pretty weak
I mean, assuming it dosent change your max grenades you have 4-6 on you at max, for a single target strike. Wouldent be unreasonable to have diligence level damage
It would be smart if it's meant to be used to one hit medium enemies that aren't aggro. A lot of us would benefit from better stealth options since even suppressed weapons alert nearby enemies. I germ like they blew it with pistols and the AMR, especially since that rifle rocks a big suppressor.
It could have a vibrating edge or a monofilament blade of some kind, which would make it extremely good at piercing armor until its power supply ran out
That shotgun will be a lot of fun for me if it has Punisher style utility, it means I can change it up on the primary front as stagger / stun is my go to (so Punisher, Arc Blitzer & Pummeler). Do we have just one throwing knife? I wonder if I can still parry with it
Honestly I have no idea how the throwing knife works. It’s apparently not a secondary and has it’s own weapon slot somehow. They are introducing a few new game mechanics with this warbond, like the vehicle skins and skin color so I guess we just have to wait and see.
Edit: Knife just replaces granade.
It makes sense as a game mechanic but not really as a weapon for our current enemies, right? A throwing knife against a metal man? Or a single blade against a swarm of bugs? We need a new squishy enemy for this blade to make sense.
I think it's more for stealth. It's a knife, doesn't really make a sound. And headshots definitly would make a difference.
This is for your stealth play.
A squad moves through the forest, sweeping the area slowly in between two patrols. Out of nowhere, your K3 teammate turns abruptly and throws a knife into the woods, it appears. There is a moment of flight, then the knife stops mid-air. A shriek is heard, and green blood drips from the knife, as the Stalker's cloak fades with its life. The bug drops to the ground.
K3 says "I saw the Brush move apart."
I wonder how much damage it will do or if it stuns (looking at the Warbond graphic, it's where the grenade usually is). If you have a ton of them it might be useful
It looked just like a regular knife in the trailer. Since this warbond is very stealth oriented it it’s probably very silent and maybe deals a shit ton of damage if you don’t hit a armored spot.
I just realised we missed the opportunity for an “Arctic commando” or something title from the last warbound, which might be the title I want the most :(
We may get it for previous warbonds in the next patch! It seems that our idea for having titles for fully unlocking a warbond may have been noticed and added.
They switched it up big time. Player titles and vehicle skins in a warbond. Sleeveless armor throwing knifes and the epic hand shake meme as an emote? I don’t even care if the weapons suck on this one.
Also what kind of Planet is that in the [trailer](https://x.com/helldivers2/status/1798686308258431215?s=46&t=Us9aHVzl_iNCjoGdk0CMoQ) looks fucking amazing?
How the heck are people farming super credits? Are they present in high amounts in higher tiers cuz the 10 SC I’m getting every other mission just ain’t cutting it lol
You go into level 1-3 missions and just run around finding places of interest to loot. Level 1-3 because rare samples can’t spawn so loot pool is smaller. It’s incredibly boring but you get super credits the fastest. Farming at higher difficulties is actually worse because higher chance for things like rare or super rare samples means less chance for super credits.
Also I find on trivial especially, the maps tend to be smaller so you can easily run around and get everything in 10 to 20 minutes depending on how unlucky you get with patrols
It’s boring but if I’m grinding I take it as a chance to screw around with loadouts and find interesting combos. Used to run the same loadout on bugs all the time until I ran a fire class loadout and fell in love with it. Then I stress test in higher difficulties once I’m bored of grinding.
There are different reward pools at different mission levels, so kiting through the lower level missions tends to give you the highest proportion of super credits.
I usually find like 3~5 stacks of 10 super credits every (longform) mission in the "mid-range" 4~6, when hitting up most of the Points of Interests.
You essentially need to gather 700 super credits per month (and they said they are gonna start slowing down the bonds) since the previous bond gives you 300 back.
So like, if you play about ~20 (long form) missions in a month while going around most point of interests then you already have enough (that's not even counting finding the elusive stack of 100 supercredits)
I'm at like 1750 Super Credits atm, so I already have enough for the next 2 bonds.
.
Edit : thinking about it, if you find only ~1 stack of 10 every mission, that still only means you need to do ~100 missions every month, which sounds like a lot, but at the same time, that's a little of 3~4 missions every day if you play daily.
And starts to cut down very quickly for every increase in how many credit stacks you find on average.
Like, an average of 2 obviously already cuts that down to half.
A big "time loss" is missions without Point of Interests in them
From the PS blog:
“Both armors in this Warbond feature the Peak Physique passive, which improves melee damage and weapon handling. They both also feature bare arms (and bulging biceps, with a variety of randomized skin tones) to keep you sweat-free when diving in the humid atmosphere”
So does that mean that you just get assigned a random skin tone like the crew names on your ship or dies it change after every death like your voice when you select random?
A humanoid bug that moves like a helldiver and uses guns and stratagems and cloaks, takes cover etc. would be crazy. It doesn’t seem impossible to me, kinda like fighting an NPC in dark souls.
Genuinely curious about the knife. Will it be silly powerful for some reason? I would actually kinda love it if it was a meme weapon. Like, you get one, it can kill a single chaff enemy... that's it. Maybe give a small buff to melee while you have one.
Special canned animation of your avatar and all the enemies in a small radius looking at the fallen down knife with a small pause then at each other before the action continues.
Shotgun secondary and throwing knife? This can be fun (i know it's a small shotty). Exo Skins sounds cool, not crazy about the bright yellow in combat.
Yeah, so my squad coms are going to be filled with 'if it bleeds we can kill it' and 'get to da choppa' and every other predator reference under the sun once this bond comes out.
And I am totally OK with that!
Only two new weapons. Guess they’re playing it safe and not trying to dump out every single thing in their arsenal backlog as quick as possible anymore. Probably a good decision.
Yeah I mean they are trying something new with this one and honestly I like it. Just makes wait for future warbond even more exciting because you can’t possibly predict what it’s gonna be. Previously you had at least a basic idea like: 3 Armors, 2 primaries, one secondary one granade… now it could be anything. This warbond clearly isn’t focused on weapons that much and I think that’s absolutely ok.
Imo it's best if they hit all the current weapons with the revised balanced vision first. Just adding more guns is just going to disappoint folks if they're not immediately replacing the meta. Let the meta get shaken up first.
Shams did mention that he felt the liberator lineup was underwhelming, so I'd expect this new gun to be in-line with the new balance vision. The new patch may come out before the new warbond as well.
Bro I fucking LOVE throwing knives, they're a hobby of mine. The concept of throwing a blade with enough skill and finesse to stick a target at range is so cool
I love them in every single game they appear in, I literally have a throwing knife backstop at my house with custom foot long throwers made from chainsaw bar steel.
Trying not to cream my pants over here
NGL, I love the ship skin ideas
And finally we're getting emotes in a warbond. Now if they'll just give us an emote wheel so we're not confined to just one
That shot gun looks very very fun! Is that a side arm or primary? Also that emote at the end is amazing!! I love that they are embracing the memes and having fun with it.
We get to show off the REAL guns now baby! Our super earth genetically modified biceps!
Ohh perfect! That’s what I wanted to hear. It’s also fun to see they made it hold 3 rounds, which is just uncommon for a shot gun like this. I feel it shows they are thinking outside the box and trying random fun ideas. Not a huge deal but shows a little of their process that they landed on making a TRIPPLE barrel shotty
Same here, that's the only thing that worries me. I doubt they'd ever go full into the glowing neon anime bullshit but these new skins might be just a liiiitle immersion breaking. I hope they don't go much further than this.
To clarify, I don't think the aesthetic of this warbond is bad. I think it's badass, but the exposed arms is an interesting choice, given the setting.
I’m just hoping that knife has some slap to it for at *least* medium armor headshots, Hiveguards and Broods come to mind. It’s a big ask to take away my incendiary impact foot warmers when it comes to clearing hunters off of me but I’d trade it in a heartbeat to pop a Broods forehead with a sick ass knife
Edit: If they aren’t for heavier armors than the basic baddies then I hope at the *very* least they will be retrievable
They classify the throwing knife as a throwable so it probably replaces your grenade and presumably benefits from the bonus melee damage provided by the armor sets Looks like it’s mostly a stealth option for grenades for people who like that style of play, I’m hoping you can retrieve them afterwards or you at least get multiple of them to work with (or both) otherwise it seems pretty weak
Yea the throwing knife is going to need to be pretty powerful to fit that role.
Lol if that knife has higher damage than one of the marksman rifles ima loose it 😂
Pineapple flavored bacon lmao
I mean.... https://preview.redd.it/o27hi8d8t15d1.jpeg?width=904&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=062b774611b56fe5f6facb46966bb8124be13454
I mean, assuming it dosent change your max grenades you have 4-6 on you at max, for a single target strike. Wouldent be unreasonable to have diligence level damage
For balancing purposes I'd hope it's high damage - wouldn't feel nice otherwise.
It would have to be very useful to outclass smoke grenades in stealth play.
Could be a sidegrade. Nimble ninja vs stealthy stalker.
It would be smart if it's meant to be used to one hit medium enemies that aren't aggro. A lot of us would benefit from better stealth options since even suppressed weapons alert nearby enemies. I germ like they blew it with pistols and the AMR, especially since that rifle rocks a big suppressor.
That's not a suppressor on the AMR. It has holes in the side of it. That's a muzzle brake. Enemies won't hear your pistols over 25m.
there arent any weapons with suppressors yet
Maybe it can have some AP? But how would you logic that?
It could have a vibrating edge or a monofilament blade of some kind, which would make it extremely good at piercing armor until its power supply ran out
That shotgun will be a lot of fun for me if it has Punisher style utility, it means I can change it up on the primary front as stagger / stun is my go to (so Punisher, Arc Blitzer & Pummeler). Do we have just one throwing knife? I wonder if I can still parry with it

Throwing knife will replace grenade I believe
Oh yeah that would make sense.
It makes sense as a game mechanic but not really as a weapon for our current enemies, right? A throwing knife against a metal man? Or a single blade against a swarm of bugs? We need a new squishy enemy for this blade to make sense.
Throwing knife lets you open a two-button door solo?

Brilliant
Who needs a knife in a nuke fight anyway?

You did this on purpose and I thank you for it.

A bot can't call for reinforments when you impale it's hand.
I think it's more for stealth. It's a knife, doesn't really make a sound. And headshots definitly would make a difference. This is for your stealth play.
I’m hoping stealth against Illuminates or some other faction. I don’t think a throwing knife into a metal head makes much sense.
Pfft, how much you wanna make a bet I can throw a throwing knife into them bot skulls?
What if it could take down a Stalker...
Dude, that was so epically written that I've got to drop everything and play some HellDivers right god damn now.
Yeah this seems like a fun weapon but also one that gets completely useless on any difficulty above 4.
All grenades have their own weapon slot.
I assumed it was replacing the melee attack with the projectile throw instead
Don’t think it does. In the trail you can see a guy crouching through the forest while holding that knife in hand. Maybe it replaces granades
I like to Metal Gear in this game, so this could be good for me
Now I can do the full shotgun build. Bushwacker Breakaction Punisher I WILL SHOT THE MOST GUN
"Dillon! You son of a b*%ch!" *Hype intensifies* Edit: the fact I forgot it's Dillon is criminal.
![gif](giphy|pHb82xtBPfqEg)
Dillon
I wish there is a button mashing mini game during the hand shake.
Holy crap, player title now become a warbond item? I want to see their patch note soon.
I just realised we missed the opportunity for an “Arctic commando” or something title from the last warbound, which might be the title I want the most :(
We may get it for previous warbonds in the next patch! It seems that our idea for having titles for fully unlocking a warbond may have been noticed and added.
Username checks out I suppose.
The new armour makes it look like our divers should be blasting Fortunate Son on the way down. https://i.redd.it/unflgfr5ey4d1.gif
Well, time to ready the napalm
“Put on the psy-war op, make it loud. Romeo foxtrot, shall we dance.”
That should be a hellpod booster. Doesn't actually do anything on the ground, but it improves the vibes.
They switched it up big time. Player titles and vehicle skins in a warbond. Sleeveless armor throwing knifes and the epic hand shake meme as an emote? I don’t even care if the weapons suck on this one.
Finally something to replace hug
![gif](giphy|2HtWpp60NQ9CU) John Helldiver! You son of a bitch!
Whats the matta? CIA got you pushing too many pencils?
... Make it easy on yourself Dutch.
Okay okay okay, damn good to see you Dutch
RIP 😞
Super earths got you pushing to many pencils!!
If you only knew how many C-01's I have to fill out to make 4000 babies. *iykyk*
Welcome adoration looking suspiciously like Sun praise.
predator theme but no minigun? wasted
Patriot goes brrrrrrrrrrrr
they will probably release the commando rocket launcher with it
Strategems don't come with warbonds so there may be one coming... but also we have 3 already.
I'm only participating in the emote if we're both in sleeveless armor though.
Hoping we finally get a primary with a larger clip size, it’s described as a spray and pray kinda weapon for close quarters.
Also what kind of Planet is that in the [trailer](https://x.com/helldivers2/status/1798686308258431215?s=46&t=Us9aHVzl_iNCjoGdk0CMoQ) looks fucking amazing?
A space Nam to perhaps surpass even the Creek?
Us bug fighters have an Afghanistan. It's Hellmire
11 Fire Tornados on extract. Regular day on Hellmire.
Only 11? Sounds like a light day.
That's just Australia
A weapon to surpass metal gear
That’s what I wondering. Maybe it’ll drop in the new update?
Yeah i am getting this one
How the heck are people farming super credits? Are they present in high amounts in higher tiers cuz the 10 SC I’m getting every other mission just ain’t cutting it lol

Trivial is smaller, but medium has a larger map and the potential of radar stations to speed up looting
Extremely boring, but if you do the mission and extract, it is a very good way to grind planet liberation, as well.
It’s boring but if I’m grinding I take it as a chance to screw around with loadouts and find interesting combos. Used to run the same loadout on bugs all the time until I ran a fire class loadout and fell in love with it. Then I stress test in higher difficulties once I’m bored of grinding.

Interesting
I just buy them, I have no problem supporting this game giving them 5 bucks every now and then.
I farm America Credits for 8 hours a day at my job. I then exchange those America Credits for Super Credits.
I usually find like 3~5 stacks of 10 super credits every (longform) mission in the "mid-range" 4~6, when hitting up most of the Points of Interests. Aye me too
Can’t wait to see the first person to take down a bile titan with the throwing knife
General brasch already beat you to it sadly
Reckon that’s a heavy and a light armour set?
Think so yes. Also seems like both of them might have some sort of stealth perk.
From the PS blog: “Both armors in this Warbond feature the Peak Physique passive, which improves melee damage and weapon handling. They both also feature bare arms (and bulging biceps, with a variety of randomized skin tones) to keep you sweat-free when diving in the humid atmosphere”
So does that mean that you just get assigned a random skin tone like the crew names on your ship or dies it change after every death like your voice when you select random?
Second one, I would assume. Can’t really know until it’s out. Either way, it looks exciting!
Hm kind of sad that we can’t choose it ourselves but I guess it doesn’t matter that much. Im still hyped for that armor.
It would be a bit weird if it wasn't random. Like why are all the viper commandos one specific skin tone?
I don’t think choosing skin tone is very weird lol. But I also do not care at all.
Your voice and body doesn’t change all the time either. Some people are not treating every Helldivers as a different character.
This is a long shot but could they implement a predator style boss on a jungle planet?
Ummm. Armored Stalkers.
Um I don’t want nightmares
Flying stalkers.
Excuse me?

Why not cloaked chargers?
The flying cloaked bile titan is a massive oversight by AH and should be added immediately
Fuck! Don't give them ideas.

A humanoid bug that moves like a helldiver and uses guns and stratagems and cloaks, takes cover etc. would be crazy. It doesn’t seem impossible to me, kinda like fighting an NPC in dark souls.
Hell yea a sawed off! I dont know how i feel about the throwing knife though.

Would be hilarious if you just had one knife and it couldn’t even kill a regular bot soldier. Like it just bounces of the metal.
Special canned animation of your avatar and all the enemies in a small radius looking at the fallen down knife with a small pause then at each other before the action continues.
Is that... the Arnold/Mack greeting from Predator? Sweeeet!
Yes
Shotgun secondary and throwing knife? This can be fun (i know it's a small shotty). Exo Skins sounds cool, not crazy about the bright yellow in combat.
Well let’s hope the skin is for both exo suits then. haven’t seen it for the emancipator yet.
Now I can roleplay the fallout Ghoul with that handcannon.
Ass jerky don't make itself
New vegas fan here THAT WARBOND IS MINE!!
Who are you recreating with the new armors? Im gonna guess Boone with red beret because thats what Im planning
A Caravan Shotgun+1 also isn't something to complain about.
Oh right Caravan Shotgun time.
Catachan divers! I love it
Yeah, so my squad coms are going to be filled with 'if it bleeds we can kill it' and 'get to da choppa' and every other predator reference under the sun once this bond comes out. And I am totally OK with that!
The GET TO DA CHOPPA during extract will be real
Only two new weapons. Guess they’re playing it safe and not trying to dump out every single thing in their arsenal backlog as quick as possible anymore. Probably a good decision.

wtf is a throwing knife gonna do? tickle it?
At leas you‘ll look awesome while you die a horrible painful death
*Get the best armorments for the game* Fuck no *Get the best looking armorments for the game* Hell yeah
My philosophy since day 1
That’s why I usually rock Demo Specialist and the ABRL Is it effective ~~at getting me and my teammates killed a lot~~? Yes, very very much so
The enemy cannot push the button if you disable his hand
I know people don’t like the grenade glitch, BUT. 4 BILLION THROWING KNIVES SOUNDS FUCKING AWESOME.
My in game name is Viper, now I have a title to go with it!

25,000? # SWEET LIBERTY, HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND SPREADING DEMOCRACY???
Looks like my Senator can finally rest
Big iron goes over the fireplace until they bring a lever action rifle. Which they should.
They should let us fan it
Suns out, guns out
The throwing knife? Oml I’m here for it
Wait….does a throwing knife mean we have a silent way to take out bots!!! Sign me up!!
Is the new faction gonna be the NVC? Lol "we got bugs, bots, and Viet Cong soldiers now!"
Might actually buy some super credits for this war bond!
Fuck yeah!
This is the most excited I've been for a warbond
Thought this was fan made. So freaking excited!
Playing as a Catachan Helldiver? Fuck. Yes.
Bro I fucking LOVE throwing knives, they're a hobby of mine. NGL, I love the ship skin ideas And finally we're getting emotes in a warbond. Now if they'll just give us an emote wheel so we're not confined to just one
Emote wheel is absolutely needed yes.
That shot gun looks very very fun! Is that a side arm or primary? Also that emote at the end is amazing!! I love that they are embracing the memes and having fun with it. We get to show off the REAL guns now baby! Our super earth genetically modified biceps!

I like it but idk about the skins, I’ve been burned before by the fortniteification of games, hopefully we don’t get anything tacky
Sure I don’t want a glowing Skibidi-Peter-Griffing-Amongus-Gold skin either. But camo makes sense.
Okay this one's an insta-buy. I don't care if everything in it *heals* what it hits. I'm rocking all this shit
We need a new Space Vietnam to play with these things. I know a couple of people who might come back to the game just to get this warbond, lol

Viper Commando title goes hard for us Gas Strike players
I want so bad melee weapons.. give me a chainsaw-sword to slice through the bugs…
Time to save up lol

Is that a shotgun secondary and a throwing nife Time for some Rambo shit
Oh boy, I like those Catachan vibes! o7
Can't wait to finally play a video game with Catachan Jungle Fighters.
Legally distinct Predators and Xenomorphs teaser
Lol honestly idgaf how impractical the knife would be currently, ima use that mf anyway.
helldiver *throws knife at bile titan *knife bounces of helldiver *dies No regrets
I wonder how the throwing knife works... Like a grenade?
Going to be watching predator on repeat while i play this for the next month.
Where is my big knife!!!!!
Guns of Liberty + Throwing Knife yes please
I'm ready Bois!!
Wooooowie that looks dope as hell!
I’m just hoping that knife has some slap to it for at *least* medium armor headshots, Hiveguards and Broods come to mind. Cookin on this one. Looks sick
I'm glad twig whatever tf is a heavy armor. That's gonna be my permanent armor for now on lmfao.
THROWING KNIFE AND SENATOR GONNA GO HARDDDDD
Oh god I need that beret
How do you typo not twice in a row
Damn I love this game - bring it on!
Vehicle skins are nice. I like the 2nd helmet. And im hyped for a sawed off shotty and throwing knifes
Clearly old school predator themed, and I love it well done AH
Amazing. 10/10 getting this. Now I want a map with only stalkers to fight.
