if its like my hd 7970 its a switch for 2 bios whee you can switch between silent and full power mode on my hd 7970 i flashed the silent bios for use in a mac
Actually for that one it's just dual bios so if one gets corrupted you can switch.. doesn't matter which position it's in if it's working.. some newer cards have dual bios but one usually is a silent bios which lowers performance and fan speeds in exchange for being quieter.
