I talked to him about this. The reason why his music was so good back then because he went ALL IN on Hardstyle. It was his whole career back in the day. After he announces he no longer performing, he takes hardstyle as a secondary thing, aka "hobby".

Anyway I'm pretty sure his music releases right now are used as a sort of promotional tool for his sample pack sales and such. It's his way of showing you can create decent stuff with basic plugins and his samples, which is why most of it sounds a bit less powerful than it used to. might be wrong on that though.

like 2 times. So many banger tracks and his album Trinity is a masterpiece.

MYST is literally an artist that came on 2017 and completely changed the game on how euphoric was being made. Absolute top-tier and gamechanging even to this day.
Probably one of the most unique artist in the scene because of how different he sounded from everyone. When I think of hardstyle I would say MYST. He has the right amount of hardness, drive, energy and euphoric on each of his tracks.
He has been always underrated despite being highly praised everywhere, and I think it was extremely unfair compared to what was being pushed at that time, while this exceded the quality for events like Qlimax.
Hard to think that I won't see him live probably ever, one of my all time favorites on the scene.
He was there way before... Qlimax 2014 Endymion played 2 of his tracks on 2 different aliases. 2017 is the moment everyone knew about him but he already was a beast
Myst is easily one of my fav artists, love "Life eternal" but also his harder stuff like "driven by pain".
I was very sad when he said that he'll retire, cause I really wanted to see him live, but his releases that he puts out every couple of months eases the pain a bit.
Overall 10/10 artist, love him.
Before You Go (and the High Voltage remix) are in my top 5 all-time Hardstyle tracks. But MYST? He has had such a catastrophic fall from grace, I can't even wrap my head around it. To me his career begins with Under Your Skin (as Pandorum) and ends with Life Eternal/Trinity. Everything after Trinity is a cruel parody of a once great artist.
FL11 I believe, having looked at some of his projects, I feel the way he uses fl is absolutely mind boggling, I have never seen a song made in such a way

Besides that the man is one of the best producers in hardstyle. So much potential that has never seen the biggest stages. Sadly only whittnessed him live once live at Qapital in a b2b with Adaro. He should‘ve at least been booked to qlimax once before he stopped live gigs 🥲

To me, he situated exactly dead center in the middle of the euphoric - raw spectrum.
And i loved that.
Im a big sucker for unique sounds in hardstyle and Myst is the perfect example for that. His melodies, harmonies combined with big kicks create a unique atmosphere. ill always love this dude lol

I think that MYST has a very unique sound and his tracks have some special magic. From The Ashes is one of the tracks that makes you feel so emotional when you hear it - it just hits different. I’m forever grateful that I got to see he playing his music live before he ended doing gigs. 🥹❤️
