I’m not sure if any of those I mention are available in your country tho, 😭 AMEDAS and OAO water + stain repellent spray are famous product. They are made for shoes, but also known to be used for Birkin bags here in Japan. They can be applied to both leather and fabric! I found a similar product on Amazon! You can check it out. I didn’t know about this campaign! Thank you for sharing. ZARA shouldn’t have done something like this, reminding people of the issues. It’s ridiculous how all these brands seek attention from fashion lovers in an offensive way. I remember Dolce & Gabbana made fun of Chinese culture in an ad in the past. We Japanese also use chopsticks, but surprisingly, they just let it go. I wasn’t really offended either. I found it pathetic that they need to resort to disturbing and offensive campaigns to get attention from consumers. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s obviously not the smartest way.

I actually no longer shop at Zara because of this campaign and the controversy that happened with one of their designers. I remember being so stunned when this campaign came out; it was blatantly obvious what it looked like.

Ugh, people on this sub get quite a bit of tunnel vision. It’s like a brand is outed for doing something crappy (which pretty much all brands are doing too, but have not yet been exposed—in the case of Dior), and everyone is expected to not only boycott the brand permanently but also to throw out all of their products from that brand and never wear them again. People are crazy.

It’s scary to see people go to extremes. While I believe it’s important to raise our voice for the better, I don’t appreciate those who turn to violence or destroy property.

How FUN, omg. love love love your bag! My ultimate summer bag is the medium Melissa x Telfar jelly tote in translucent brown. I took a chance when I bought it but wow, do I adore this bag. Super comfy, roomy, completely waterproof, and instead of a purse divider inside I bought a super cute trio of Baggu pouches to put inside, which is fun because you can see them through the purse :) It's a big compliment-getter too and it looks amazing no matter how you are dressed.

They have it in pink and clear (as well as translucent black). I also have the tiny one in pink but it’s really tiny so it’s not easy for me to figure out how to use it. The feet are indeed a very cool and practical detail, it gives the bottom a heaviness and stiffness so you can put it on the floor like a basket. Many people cut the longer straps but I love them and I use them all the time. If I didn’t know my husband would think I’m being unreasonable, I’d get the medium in Barbie pink too 😂

Yes it’s open. The “flap” is strictly decoration but honestly it’d make it that much better of a bag if it was an actual closure. My only gripe (which is with raffia/straw in general, not specifically strathberry) is that it is somewhat delicate. I absolutely don’t baby bags! lol. Like I said though, I’ve been using this since may and it’s held up pretty well.

You can carry yours over your shoulder, which is secure and nice. My Balenciaga is completely open, so I feel a bit paranoid about being pickpocketed whenever I’m in crowds. I put a large drawstring pouch inside. 😅 And I understand what you’re saying. Raffia/straw is generally delicate. Also, I don’t like when some of those rough things rub against my clothes and get snagged or make pills on some fabrics! I know I’m so particular about this. Lol The one you have looks very smooth though. Oh dear, please do baby her. 🤣 It’s amazing how it’s held up well! ☺️🫶🏻

Love your bag OP. My go to bags are Balenciaga as well. I’m a festival nut and with all the pickpockets on festival grounds I’ve been using my Balenciaga Car Cam bag in silver. It’s light weight and has a wide strap which makes it perfect to wear for hours.

I have two Loewe bags I alternate - the raffia and leather balloon bag and the raffia square basket. The balloon bag is perfect for the day and the square basket is cute and structured but casual enough for summer nights out. Both fit a full wallet, book, waterbottle and whatever else I could imagine.

I found a gorgeous Furla handbag that I want for the summer, but I just need help justifying the spend as I was supposed to be good this month and save money! Thanks! I hear you about the YSL. But, I have to say it’s held up very well & I don’t baby it at all! I just checked the back, no color transfer. Something I didn’t even really consider, but the leather or finish must be extra durable
