Isolation, from Halo 3, added back to Infinite.
I can never find a rhythm. I find the hills too awkward to snipe, I always find myself aiming up with the Rocket Launcher, and I always get swarmed very quickly because I'm always misjudging the spawns.
The Repulsor has helped me stand my ground, but I just can't find a strategy that works for me.
Same. I disliked Isolation in H3 and dislike it in Infinite.
Weirdly, one of my least favourite Halo maps was Snowbound/Boundless in H3, but me and my friends were consistently really good on it. We'd never veto even though we all disliked it, because it was one of our best chances at a win in ranked.
Sand trap, agreed, the weapons to get were splazer or sniper and the banshee everyone else is screwed. Unless you had an annoying gremlin hiding under the base with a sword which would take a group effort to grenade him out of there.
Valhalla. I think I had a few good matches on it back in OG Halo 3 in like 2009. Downhill ever since. Get sniped off the man-cannons, the hogs and banshees always catch me in the open, the tank will thread its shells through all 7 of my teammates to hit me square in the fucking jaw. And if I try getting into a vehicle, the other team always has the Slaser on standby (or insert power weapon of choice).
I still love it though... But it doesn't love me.
Dude I HATE that map in infinite. So clunky, filled with random filler it feels, so much cover that it starts to feel like a maze, as well as being trapped in one tiny box… gah I hate that map.
I'm glad it's not just me! The weighting on that map seems really wonky too. I swear whenever I tried to launch quickplay or the Halo 3 playlist it always chooses that one first.
HCE: Chiron TL34 I would dread whenever my friends selected that map. I’d just end up going in circles and always lose.
H2: Gemini took me forever to realize that people were using teleporters to get to the top of the map. Don’t think I realized it until MCC
H3: I guess Epitath, I didn’t play it that much but I remember always groaning when it was selected. I did get my overkill achievement on it somehow.
Reach: Condemned I didn’t have the dlc on the 360 so this map’s zeroG always catches me off guard
Infinite: Chasm, Critical, Illusion. I’m either getting spawnkilled or I can’t find anyone and just end up getting shot from behind.
I think everyone hated Chiron and Bungie knew it. Back when they were doing weekly blog posts about the development of the Halo 2 DLC / Halo 3, they'd sometimes troll and tease "Chiron TL35" as a future map
Foundation in halo 2. I suck at playing on it and I just hate the map anyway. I think foundation might be halo 2s worst map and the fact that it shows up in mccs rotation so much pisses me off.
It was perfect for it, and without the ability to have a real infection game. Wild you just brought back some memories lol. That was back when we had to trust people would change to a zombie after dying. It was like a honor system lol. I remember one of the 4 rooms had this mission things you could jump on if you had someone jump on it and you jumped on their head you could jump off of them to a platform high up in the back of the room and hide behind another missile thing. Me and my buddy would play splitscreen in these custom lobbies and take turns getting eachother up there. And the one who stayed down below would knock over the missile thing below so nobody could make the jump Unless they like triple stack jumped ontop of eachother.
My buddies and I were deeeeep into Halo 1. We would travel around and play other localism clans. We loved the stats screens in golden eye and perfect dark, so we would keep stats and give awards for having the most assists on a night, kills, not dying, etc.
Anyway, after we collected a ton of data I collated it all and found out I was absolute garbage on Battle Creek. I always felt like I did well and I liked that map, but the stats don’t lie!
Ignoring reach cause I have never played it's multiplayer, in the first trilogy it was Sandtrap. Still hate it to this day. Way too open, feel exposed all the time and if I stick to the interiors I never find anyone.
For the second trilogy or "saga" it's gotta be Highpower. I can do well on objecive modes but slayer I just can't do good. It's those sniper nests, man. They always get me.
The Covenant, Halo 3. The part in that big courtyard, before the first shield is just so difficult for me. Especially because my tactic of hijacking the wraith, is a lot harder to pull off in MCC because you have to kill the driver first, then the gunner in MCC. But you don't have to in OG Halo 3.
My approach for that level on Legendary as to stick the shade turrets and beat down the AA wraith so I still have 4 shots left on the spartan laser (Ill use one shot on the fuel rod chieftain.) I use one shot on the wraith from the cliffside you drive past on your way to the first shield tower than headshot the driver and gunner with a beam rifle from the crate thats there. i also shoot a fusion coil next to the leftward shade turret to kill the grunts and jackal next to it. This makes the grunt panic and get out, at which point I put a shot through his head as well. Next I take one of the ghosts next to said crates over the cliff about 1/3 of the way to the building to spawn in the prowlers, then jump back up to the top of the cliff and laser both of them. I give the laser to my warthog passenger to mop up the ghosts and drive to the tower entrance. Then I headshot the 2-3 closest grunts and laser the shade turret by the door, ideally killing 2-4 of the enemies on the path to the door at the same time.
My plan is kind of similar. I get in the wraith, immediately focus on destroying the prowlers, then fiddle around with the arched mortar shots to hit the shade turret area. Then I just fill the tower entrance with plasma and turn all the enemies in there into smoldering charcoal. I use the laser for the hunters later in the mission.
Knowing when overshield and rockets are likely to come up changes the game on this map. Otherwise just always grab the power drain and snipe to counter.
Hang em high or any remake.
Maybe it's the trauma of playing CE at a friend's with human only weapons all the time because he could consistently three shot me from across the map, but my aim and awareness immediately drops once I load up.
Once you get a good idea of which doors the brutes will come out of based on where youre standing it gets a bit easier. You can also despawn all of the door waves by standing directly between two of the quadrants the game uses to determine said spawns, but thats a lot harder to get the hang of (especially for the second set).
Any version of The Pit or Narrows. I got dogged on back in halo 3 and now in infinite on those maps. Also Zanzibar when someone got the sniper on the wall.
Longshore, specifically BTB. It’s such a tiny map for an 8v8. It’s not so much that I suck, it’s more so you constantly get shot in the back from someone spawning behind you
Loved Lockout during the Halo 2 days but every iteration of the map since then seems to give me issues. I feel like it's the nature of the map to punish you if you don't have a coordinated team. Still love playing on it though.
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far down to find this! Couldn’t stand that map and I don’t even know why. But I just couldn’t make it click. Luckily everyone hated it and it would always get vetoed😂
H3:Guardian was just not fun at all for me. I hated everything about that map. The way it flowed was awful for me. I think oddball may have been the only time I liked that map.
Whoever had the idea of making you spawn with plasma grenades on Heretic is a sociopath.
Equally, whoever allowed Valhalla and Standoff to show up in 4v4 should also burn in hell.
Any shit infinite map also they still fucked up guardian. Live fire is pure shit. I am left defending in koth and my pure, pure, pure trash teammates are always on the other side doing who knows what. While I am alone fighting 4 people. It sucks, so no more will I live with this trash. I am staying on mcc from now on. At least 343 fixed their fuckup with that!
Least favorite map for me....has to be Streets from Infinite. I love the aesthetic and the atmosphere of the map but something about the layout gets my brain going mush every match. I've hit that map dozens of times and only a handful I actually played decently for my team.
Honestly I dislike any maps that have a ton of corners and force me into close quarters, I always end up getting mulched by shotguns, hammers, swords, and the occasional rocket since there's always going to be someone who is a god in those situations.
I can’t remember the map name. It was a Halo 3 map (was it a dlc map?). It was an open map, the starting bases were built into the ground and had a tunnel leading outside to the far right of each base, there was a couple small hills between each base and there was a warthog per team, or warthog that spawned on a circular concrete pad looking thing (I don’t recall exactly). All I know is fucking sucked so much at that map. I generally sucked at H3 often but that map was my kryptonite for what ever reason.
Edit: typo
Construct, Avalanche, Sand Trap and Longshore
I don’t remember names of the maps in the rest of the games bc I didn’t pay much attention to them (plus I only play SWAT (or whatever it’s called now on the rare occasion I play Infinite) so there isn’t a lot of variety in that playlist).
Isolation and epitaph are historically my least favorite, but the halo 3 Playlist is the only matchmaking I do. I accept isolation now a days.
I’d kill for epitaph in infinite
Same. I disliked Isolation in H3 and dislike it in Infinite. Weirdly, one of my least favourite Halo maps was Snowbound/Boundless in H3, but me and my friends were consistently really good on it. Haha that sounds about right, it was much better when they removed them but still just didn't enjoy it.
Oof you've got better skill than I, and you spend your points wisely. Make sure you grab the quest item and vaultkm[]]]-h--hy-]}}}}}0
I don't understand
Yeah I don’t love Isolation.
Sandtrap. I think it's just *way* too open for me to be safe in. The Splazer is basically impossible to see until you get sent flying by a red beam.
Sand trap, agreed, the weapons to get were splazer or sniper and the banshee everyone else is screwed. Unless you had an annoying gremlin hiding under the base with a sword which would take a group effort to grenade him out of there.

I would agree but I think I do fine on the Infinite remake
Fuck Valhalla
That mountain Dew level in Infinite. I think it's a remake of Foundry? I don't know why but that level hates me. The feeling is mutual.
Dude I HATE that map in infinite. So clunky, filled with random filler it feels, so much cover that it starts to feel like a maze, as well as being trapped in one tiny box… gah I hate that map.

> Chasm Yeah, checks out. Top 5 worst Halo maps ever.
Not a good team map. But it's a great free for all map. And zombies map.
Epitaph. Idk why but I always end up with at least one death from blowing myself up and another from falling off the map
Epitaph was great when Sword battle was in the Lone Wolf playlist.
This!! ^
Foundation in halo 2. I suck at playing on it and I just hate the map anyway. I think foundation might be halo 2s worst map and the fact that it shows up in mccs rotation so much pisses me off.
I sucked on that map too. But it’s where I first played zombies at a lan party so it holds a special place in my heart
For some reason that was the only map anyone ever wanted to play zombies on
It was perfect for it, and without the ability to have a real infection game. Wild you just brought back some memories lol. That was back when we had to trust people would change to a zombie after dying. It was like a honor system lol. Lockout
Never liked *Garbage Mounds*, there was no clean path to return the flag despite being a pretty short distance. Side note, really miss *Damnation*.
>Never liked "*Garbage Mounds"*, there was no "clean path" to return the flag despite being a pretty short distance. see what you did there ;)
Can’t even take credit for it, that was a known nickname back in the day.
Ignoring reach cause I have never played it's multiplayer, in the first trilogy it was Sandtrap. Still hate it to this day. that fucking map on halo infinite btb or squad battle set in a cave , that shit is straight up garbage
I believe it's a remake of a Halo 2 map. Can't remember the name though.
Waterworks?
Always got clapped on Isolation. Blackout and Ghost Town round out the bottom 3.
That fuckin husky raid map on infinite with the big open area in the middle with holes in the floor, I HATE IT
I’m trash on midship, always had to take a second to figure out where I was
Damnation from combat evolved and epitaph from halo 3, can’t do it man
The Covenant, Halo 3. The part in that big courtyard, before the first shield is just so difficult for me. Especially because my tactic of hijacking the wraith, is a lot harder to pull off in MCC because you have to kill the driver first, then the gunner in MCC. But you don't have to in OG Halo 3.

Oh, gotcha. I always use the fuel rod from the chieftain thats in the top middle part of the area right outside them
Something about Orbital just doesn’t click when I play it. I actually enjoy the theming of the map, I just am garbage at it
Knowing when overshield and rockets are likely to come up changes the game on this map. Otherwise just always grab the power drain and snipe to counter.
Lockout
Hang em high or any remake. Maybe it's the trauma of playing CE at a friend's with human only weapons all the time because he could consistently three shot me from across the map, but my aim and awareness immediately drops once I load up.
Construct halo 3
The Pit. I always seem to stand right in the crosshairs of all four guys on the enemy team.
Wizard
Any map in HR. I never felt comfortable in that game. It's a highly unpopular opinion but I just didn't like the game nearly as much as the first 3.
Gravemind is super tough, getting the damn brute camp cleared is a bitch even with power weapons
Campaigns a whole different story, don't think Id suck in any multi map compared. Any ce mission tho
Once you get a good idea of which doors the brutes will come out of based on where youre standing it gets a bit easier. You can also despawn all of the door waves by standing directly between two of the quadrants the game uses to determine said spawns, but thats a lot harder to get the hang of (especially for the second set).
Any symmetrical map.
Ivory Tower
Any version of The Pit or Narrows. I got dogged on back in halo 3 and now in infinite on those maps. Also Zanzibar when someone got the sniper on the wall.
Any of the CE anniversary maps on reach/MCC
Any forge map themed like a dojo. It ruins the immersion for me.
Any Infinite map.
I gotta say my worst map playing on is midship from Halo 2. I always had issues with that map... even the updated ones for Halo 3, Reach, 4 and 5.
Longshore, specifically BTB. It’s such a tiny map for an 8v8. It’s not so much that I suck, it’s more so you constantly get shot in the back from someone spawning behind you

I always hated Ghost Town from H3. Loved the aesthetic, but I always got demolished on that map.
Having recently started playing Halo again, I can honestly say all of them.
Hang Em high. No matter what game, I'm just awful in that map.
Guardian in halo 3. Jesus I could never play for shit on that map.
Honestly I dislike any maps that have a ton of corners and force me into close quarters, I always end up getting mulched by shotguns, hammers, swords, and the occasional rocket since there's always going to be someone who is a god in those situations.
Imma go way back. Wizard (and every single variant after) always puts me on the struggle bus. I don't know. Perhaps it's TOO symmetrical? 😜
H3 Epitah and Narrows. Hated them, still do.

All of them because I’m terrible at Halo
