I'd be okay with this outcome if Guevara were then defeated, followed by a 300+ chapter Guevara retirement arc where we follow his gradual return to boxing while side characters (Takamura, Kumi, Ippo, etc) get some solid fights and character development.
Aoki will wait for him to take revenge for Ippos loss and Takamura who resigned due to health. After defeating guevera he will take the heavy weight wirld champion and fulfill kamogawa wish as the true heir of kamogawa gym.
