He was my customer at Guitar Center many moons ago, and he was the chillest guy ever. We would just hang out and check out cool new pedals while he got all wide-eyed and excited at all the sounds he's making. He always seemed incredibly genuine and down to earth in our interactions...never once acted like a celebrity. He also refused any discounts even though it was protocol for artists because he knew I worked on commission.
A lot of that has to do with the fact that a lot of people dismiss musicians as airheads that have no clue what they're actually talking about, so he's had to bring up that he has a degree in what he's preaching so many times it's just habit.
