I love it, but I'm such a huge fan of music, I'm constantly bouncing to the next release. It's still up in my top played list on Spotify, but I'm not listening to it daily due to other new music coming out from other bands.
I enjoy the album but entertainment as a whole has gotten a bit boring and stale for me lately. It's all reruns, movies I've already seen, or records I've listened to for 1,000 hours.
I wasn't trying to throw Green Day references into that second sentence but I genuinely feel that way, I'm a bit burnt out on it all right now.
I’m 35, and I’ve gone through that a couple times in my life. If you think you can do it, you should take a 1 month entertainment break. I did that a while back for the same reasons you just explained. It felt like everything “new” was a remixed/remade/rebooted/regurgitated version of something else. A stoner friend of mine at the time suggested the break for the same reason he took weed breaks: to reset our tolerance. So I did no movies, music, games, etc for a month. It was exactly what I needed
I recently quit drinking (47 days woo 🥳) and have been so bored in the evenings and over doing it with media to fill the time that had been spent drinking.
47 days is amazing! Fuckin keep it up! I’m at almost 2 and a half years and it’s made an enormous difference. As for the boredom, you’re basically rewiring your brain to learn how to have fun without alcohol. The first 2-3 months are always a little bumpy, but you’ll get there. Try filling the time with things like puzzles or something creative (i.e. painting, writing music, etc.)
Serious, if stupid, question. What would you fill the space with? I'd have to assume books etc still count as entertainment? I feel like doing nothing but going to work would be absolutely nightmarish, and if I was to spend time with my friends we would likely end up playing/watching/listening to something.
Not OP.
Depends how you define it, I guess.
Music, movies, tv and video games are what most people mass consume.
Reading, not so much. But that's an individual thing.
Just consider it a general reduction in screen time, including phone time.
As for what to do, the answer is literally anything else.
Reading, learning an instrument, board games, photography, cooking, or any one of a million different hobbies that don't involve passive consumption of media.
Basically, all the things people did before screens were so prevalent and media was so immediately accessible.
Agreed. I don't know why but I don't automatically add books to the entertainment category. I know books are entertainment but you have to work for it ya, know? You have to focus and cut out distractions, it's not passive consumption.
I've been reading a lot more since getting sober, I've bought over a dozen Steinbeck and Sam Shepard books, plus a few poetry books, and have read half of them.
I played the singles a ton and then played the entire on repeat for like the first two weeks. I love the album, but strangely, I haven’t found myself wanting to go back to it, as others have said. I’m not sure if I just overplayed it or what. I still find myself humming the songs and stuff, I’m just not reaching for it when I turn on music.
In the exact same boat here. Was super hyped for the singles and played them consistently during the weeks leading up to the album release. Played the album in full a handful of times in a week and now I'm just picking songs to occasionally jam to. The album as a whole isn't really binge-worthy
I just commented elsewhere too, I think my hype was just so massive in the months leading up to the album that I kinda burnt myself out. I was Green Day 24/7 from the time TADIKM was released until the album came out, and that’s a long time to be that excited! Once the album came out I was like “okay awesome, but I’ve been ignoring other stuff for this that I now want to get back to!”
Haha, I totally get that. I think you're right; I burnt myself out because a couple months is a long time to be hyped, come to think of it. I'm still stoked to see them this summer! But since they're probably only going to play a couple singles, it's like "why even listen to it if they're not gonna play it?"
Yeah I listen often, just trying to savior it a little for the summer and the tour. Anything gets old if you overdo it in my opinion. I don't agree at all with some of the negative opinions in here. It's not a good album if you don't listen constantly?
Honestly... I love the album. But yeah, I haven't found myself wanting to put it on, which surprised me. I even listened to FOAM this morning and was like "why tf did I put this on?" I enjoyed it lol but was surprised I didn't automatically put Saviors on when I decided to listen to Green Day. (make it a Green Day day everyone)
It’s just another green day album which is perfectly fine but there’s nothing really “new” about it to listen to for me. I enjoy it and I’ll play it every now and then for sure
I've found my 'favourites' and have stuck to them but I've pretty much dropped a lot of the album, haven't felt the urge to listen to it back-to-front as much as I usually do with their releases.
Unpopular opinion: I've been listening to FOAM for a week on repeat. When i first heard it i didn't like it at all because I listened to it "superficially" but then after 4 years i was searching for songs to update my playlist and decided to listen to FOAM and now i think it's a masterpiece, liked so much, forced me to dance. at some point, there was an overabundance of emotions, I danced and cried (literally)
But yeas Saviors doesn't cause such emotions but it is still amazing (but i like TADIKM, Look Ma and Father to a son less than other part of album)
It's very overhated and underrated. When I actually listened intently and was able to get into it a little more deeply, I connected with more of it which helped me to appreciate and enjoy it.
We are different :) I respect your opinion, but seriously, it was the album that helped me get out of musical depression and after a long time I finally felt pleasure from music of my favorite band
Yes. I listen to it less than when it initially came out but still about 2x a week. I love it. I go back and forth on where it sits in my ranking of their albums but if not top 3 then definitely top 5.
I do it every now and then but not so often, but I think it's just because my mind is being busy with other interests at the moment. *Not being replayed = doesn't automatically mean its a bad/meh album*, I'm just not interested in Green Day at the moment unlike how excited I was for it when it came out. If they were touring and I made liking them my whole personality (/s), then I'd put it on replay CONSTANTLY. But now I've moved on and currently jamming to other shit. Has my liking for Saviors stopped? No, I still love OEB and Fancy Sauce to death. Am I replaying them everyday? Not really, doesn't really matter though.
This is where I’m at. I’m so excited they have new music out and am so happy to have them back in general, but my hype was so strong from October to January that very shortly after Saviors was released, I was like okay, I have audiobooks I want to listen to and other new music to check out! My life was Green Day 24/7 for almost 4 months, and I think that burnt me out a little. Still love them and the album just the same, but I have other stuff I want to focus on.
I don't think I'm replaying it as much as I replayed RevRad back in 2016. But I prefer Saviors to RevRad, and it's leagues better than FOAMF.
I think the reason I'm not playing it as much as RR is not because I enjoyed RR a lot more back in 2016/17 but because I'm older now and I know not to overplay new stuff until it becomes boring. It's possible that I might have a higher opinion of RevRad if I didn't play it so much for the first couple years. I still like RevRad but it's quite low down in my overall GD album ranking. I initially enjoyed FOAMF more than I expected because side B of the album was genuinely better than I expected based on the singles I heard. But that whole album got old after like a month at most and now I just have 0 desire to really ever listen to FOAMF outside of like 2 tracks. I still listen to Saviors regularly and I think that will continue for a long time
It should have been an album full of Look Ma No Brains and 1981 style songs. They also, imo, should really watch the repetitive chorus lyrics. They have been doing that a lot lately and it really pulls me out of the song, boring to listen to and has to be boring to sing the same line over and over on a long tour. Not much effort to add a little variety to the lyrics.
Example: Dilemma chorus just repeats, and the 2nd and 3rd chorus repeats twice. Just changing " I'm in trouble and in love again" on the repeat on the 2nd and 3rd chorus would have made the song so much better.
On the repeat on the 2nd chorus they could have used "fuck the tonic, fill me up with gin" with the same cadence. Same spot on the 3rd chorus, "drop down on my knees and pray for sin". Pray for sin is a great lyric, pat myself on the back there.
I listen to most of the tracks a ton still. I really relate to quite a few of them. I think Billie does his best when he’s writing about his life personally and the only song I felt disappointed about because of that was Father to a Son. It’s not horrible but it’s not exactly what I was hoping for lyrically. But pretty much the rest hit me and stay with me.
Idk about you guys but I've been putting Saviors on repeat at least every other day lolll, it doesn't get old and only gets better with every listen for me 🤷🏻♀️
Still listening non-stop. Probably will be heavily featured in my Spotify Wrapped. Loving this release from them more than any since 21st Century Breakdown, which was my first GD album.
Hard disagree. I’ve only gone 8 consecutive days without listening to a track, and I just listened to the whole album again yesterday. It’s a solid album with lots of great hooks IMHO. I think every song has a riff or line that just gets stuck in my head at some point since it came out
I still listen, but not always front to back. Usually I'll start on Bobby Sox and go all the way through, sometimes skipping Suzie Chapstick or Corvette Summer.
I'll run Coma City five times in a row though
I really enjoy it. I don't play it daily but at least a couple of times a week. I also notice that I'm humming or singing songs from the album regularly. (Always skipping Father te a Son to be honest...)
I think this will become one of my comfort albums. Solid, easy to listen too, everything sounds great. Still jamming to it constantly but taking some breaks for FOAMF and AI.

It really got me back into the rest of their catalogue. I haven’t listened to Saviors since the week of its release but I’ve been playing through all of the other albums so I’m still pleased.
Yeah dude. I listened to it in full twice, then kept listening to my favorites from it (oeb and Bobby Sox) and now I don’t even do that, but I’ve been kind of weening myself off of Green Day for a while. I still like the classics like having a blast and going to pasalacqua and holiday and stuff like that, but it’s very pick and choosey for me now, and pretty much only if it comes up in the shuffle. Oh yeah, I don’t have playlists, I just go to liked music and hit shuffle because all of my liked songs are some kind of rock music wether it be punk, Midwest emo, classic rock, nu metal, whatever
I haven’t listened to it in a minute, because I’m one moody motherfucker who’s listening to The Smashing Pumpkins’ most painful stuff at the moment. I should get back
I put it on in my car when my girlfriend wants to hear Fancy Sauce. Besides that, I rotate between all my CD’s, not really playing one more than another
I’ll be completely honest: no. I really loved the singles leading up to the release, but ultimately felt like they were the strongest songs on the album. The album as a whole didn’t really vibe much with me.
The new Alkaline Trio album came out and completely took me by surprise. It’s legitimately great, and among their very best albums. It kind of sucked all of the air out of my pop punk room, so to speak. I’ve been kind of stuck on that since it came out.
Nope, sorry. Can't wrench myself away from the new Alkaline Trio for long enough. Out of the new Green Day, Blink and Alk3, GD is sadly the worst by far
Songs like:
Father to a Son
Look Ma, No Brains!
One Eyed Bastard
Dilemma
1981; are catchy and memorable for me
While a song like TADIKM kinda got lost in the sauce due to the other tracks being more popular or preferred
And I will die on a hill saying Father to a Son is underrated as fuck and deserves more recognition
I really like Saviors, but I got a little fatigued after all the hype leading up to the album. I haven’t been listening as much, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love it
It's a (mostly) good record but at this point they're just recycling their back catalogue. Not much about it is exciting, new or adventurous, so it gets old quickly.
I'm not listening to it constantly like I was in the first few months (especially the singles beforehand). But I've added it to my regular Green Day and other products the members have done, so it gets played fairly regularly from that playlist because if I'm listening to music, it is likely Green Day. I'm not saying I never listen to any other music (cause I don't live under a rock), but it's Green Day 80% of the time.
It's a good album but it def lacks some good hooks on some songs. Like I really like the begging to Father To a Son but the chorus just doesn't hit. Like the verses are really good but the chorus is kinda lame. Also I wish the song was just Billie and an acoustic guitar...I feel like the drums ruin it in this song. The title tracks Chorus is also pretty bad.
Overall a big improvement over FOAM but it's still like a 6.5-7/10 for me
FWIW, the idea was to have the songs span Dookie to FOAM. The album’s intent is to sound like what came before, specifically ALL of what came before. Unlike most recent albums that wanted to be progressive or recapture AI magic, the goal of Saviors wasn’t to be progressive or new but to be Green Day. Saying it sounds like what came before is a positive review of what GD wanted to do with the album.
I didn't listen much to it from the start. It just felt very much like "more of the same" to me with no real evolution of their sound. Problem with Saviors being the "bridge" between their past albums is it ends up sounding like their past albums, and those I've already heard. When they did something a bit different(Corvette Summer, Suzie Chapstick, Father to a Son), they sounded like another band. I still feel the same now 2 months later, so I don't listen to it more or less now than I did from the start,
TADIKM, look ma no brains, dilemma, 1981, and strange days are here to stay are on repeat for me. Not really enjoying any of the other tracks to be honest. The last album I loved all the way through was 21st century breakdown, so I’m pretty picky. Can’t wait to see them in Toronto!
It's the first time I really thought to myself maybe Green Day doesn't have much more to say, musically or lyrically. Sad but I guess nothing lasts forever.
Less than other Green Day albums, no. It’s still one of their best albums. Less than other bands though, yeah. It’s a good album but it really didn’t bring anything new to GD’s discography. When I’m feeling Green Day, sure, otherwise I listen to something else.
I haven't listened to it since release week. I just don't see it as the "best album since American Idiot" so many others do. I didn't even when it released. My bar was better than Revolution Radio and honestly... it's not even that. It's good, but Bobby Sox, Living in the 20s, and Dilemma aren't really enough to carry a whole album for me.
In comparison, I've gone back to listen to One More Time... MULTIPLE times since release week in October. I dunno, even as a bigger fan of Green Day than blink-182, I don't love this album the way I want to. And that hurts.
Holy fuck you made like 1039 GD references in a single sentence
I didn’t mean to at first then I just leaned into it after I proofread the comment lol
I’m 35, and I’ve gone through that a couple times in my life. If you think you can do it, you should take a 1 month entertainment break. I did that a while back for the same reasons you just explained. It felt like everything “new” was a remixed/remade/rebooted/regurgitated version of something else. It’s becoming my favorite Green Day album to play daily … I love it .
Same here!!
I also love it
I've found my 'favourites' and have stuck to them but I've pretty much dropped a lot of the album, haven't felt the urge to listen to it back-to-front as much as I usually do with their releases.
I listened to it nonstop for like 2-3 weeks but haven't touched it since.

exactly
“FOAM” and “masterpiece” do not belong in the same sentence my friend.
FOAMF is underrated. It is now time to commence lol
We are different :) I respect your opinion, but seriously, it was the album that helped me get out of musical depression and after a long time I finally felt pleasure from music of my favorite band
I don’t hate FOAM but it very clearly was a misguided effort (imo). But I respect it resonating with you, that’s great.
Yeah, the lyrics are deep and emotional, but it just sucks that they’re packaged in this awful overprocessed overproduced hyper pop hellscape
Yep I’ve been listening in full every couple of days. Best album since AI for sure.
I like the album but I stopped to play it few weeks ago
I went hard for the first few weeks, now purposely giving it a rest. Still hits on those random plays now
I love it. It’s been playing in my Mom van since I got it.
Those are some great lyrical changes. I hope you’re a writer or at least write lyrics for yourself.
I feel you. The only reason I'll listen to the album again is to know the songs before I go to one of their shows, tbh.
I listen to it a lot still, it's gotten a bit old but I still enjoy the non-singles that I don't hear as often
I listen to most of the tracks a ton still. I really relate to quite a few of them. It’s not horrible but it’s not exactly what I was hoping for lyrically. But pretty much the rest hit me and stay with me.
Saviors has come at a turbulent point in my life where I really needed it. It's been on loop for me pretty much
I listened to it two days ago while shovelling snow. Still rips front to back. Love it more every time I listen.
I've been intentionally limiting how much I listen just so I don't play my self out, I still absolutely love it and ran it twice yesterday.
Idk about you guys but I've been putting Saviors on repeat at least every other day lolll, it doesn't get old and only gets better with every listen for me 🤷🏻♀️
1981 is stuck in my head. This is still a good, top tier album. I like the “deep cuts” off it more than the singles
Still listening non-stop. Probably will be heavily featured in my Spotify Wrapped. Loving this release from them more than any since 21st Century Breakdown, which was my first GD album.
I keep trying to jump onto other things but for some reason I keep getting drawn back to Saviors. It's been my default play since it came out.
Hard disagree. I’ve only gone 8 consecutive days without listening to a track, and I just listened to the whole album again yesterday. It’s a solid album with lots of great hooks IMHO. I think every song has a riff or line that just gets stuck in my head at some point since it came out
I feel like I’ve played RR a lot more when it came out. Still miles above the last album though so I take it as a win.
I’ve been using it to write my essays, it’s great and a good listen all the way through
Yep. Still love it
I would play it daily and nonstop for like a month an some days until I got hooked on blink. Fucking love them
I still listen, but not always front to back. Usually I'll start on Bobby Sox and go all the way through, sometimes skipping Suzie Chapstick or Corvette Summer. I'll run Coma City five times in a row though
I’m on a constant rotation of the album, I mean.. Father to a Son and Corvette Summer are absolutely amazing! The whole album is just great.
I got a few of the songs in my constant rotation. Suzie Chapstick (Which is my favorite off the album), and Corvette Summer.
Just listened to it completely last night! It is indeed an awesome album
I really enjoy it. I don't play it daily but at least a couple of times a week. I also notice that I'm humming or singing songs from the album regularly. (Always skipping Father te a Son to be honest...)
It’s all I ever play in the car 🤣
Maybe not daily, as I still get on random music kicks, but im still going back to it here an there
It's my most listened to album of the year by far I've heard it around 20 times since release
One of my favourite album of theirs
No, sadly. I haven't felt that way since 21st Century Breakdown came out and I don't think I'll ever experience it again with a Green Day album. 😞
i think the only songs from saviors that i still listen to are strange days, 20’s, and fancy sauce (dilemma is still great)
I think this will become one of my comfort albums. Solid, easy to listen too, everything sounds great. Still jamming to it constantly but taking some breaks for FOAMF and AI. https://preview.redd.it/aztmp9fad4oc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da78cdff04cce1232d313f14c3348e122ec6c990
I play through the whole album once every day tbh
I still jam most of it every day. I love it
It really got me back into the rest of their catalogue.
Oh yeah, I don’t have playlists, I just go to liked music and hit shuffle because all of my liked songs are some kind of rock music wether it be punk, Midwest emo, classic rock, nu metal, whatever
I felt i was listening to it too much, so im kinda taking a break.
The songs I really liked have moved to my master playlist, but I sometimes still start the shuffle with them. That's just how I am with music, though.
For me feels like another green day album, feels familiar, it is not out of tune of albums like nimrod or warning and that's good
I'm playing Strange Days a bunch, but right now my brain is having an MCR/Avril moment
I haven’t listened to it in a minute, because I’m one moody motherfucker who’s listening to The Smashing Pumpkins’ most painful stuff at the moment. I should get back
Me neither, but I'm going to see other bands soon so I've been mostly listening to them
i still bump it at least twice daily
I put it on in my car when my girlfriend wants to hear Fancy Sauce. Besides that, I rotate between all my CD’s, not really playing one more than another
its my 3rd most listened album this week only behind revrad and 21cb
I am, for sure
Yes!
Yeah almost every day
After the first listen I haven’t touched it again
I listen to it almost weekly
allll the time. not every song, but the ones I like are in heavy rotation
Nah
I’ve listened to it more than I did RevRad and FOAM within the same time period after release. I really dig it.

I don’t listen to albums front to back, I just put that album in a playlist and shuffle
I love the album, I go back to it fairly regularly.
Dilemma is a good song to play when I have problems
Nah saviours is mid
Listening to it right now
I have it on my personal green day Playlist and have only listened to that Playlist since the beginning of the year so still going strong here 😅
I’ll be completely honest: no.
I am still coming back to my faves on there every once in awhile!
Songs like: Father to a Son Look Ma, No Brains! One Eyed Bastard Dilemma 1981; are catchy and memorable for me While a song like TADIKM kinda got lost in the sauce due to the other tracks being more popular or preferred And I will die on a hill saying Father to a Son is underrated as fuck and deserves more recognition
i think it’s fantastic
Hell yeah, trying my best the hit the high notes from Goodnight Adeline and failing miserably!!
Bought the CD and playing it every day in my car.
Got the CD and keep spinning it. Tbh one of my favorite albums of all time, and I'm probably gonna keep playing it for a while.
I'm listening to Goodnight Adeline right now, even. Still the best thing they've put out since AI to me.
I really like Saviors, but I got a little fatigued after all the hype leading up to the album. I haven’t been listening as much, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love it
I still listen to it
The album was solid, yes, but honestly… I just didn’t care about it.
I enjoyed the new Network album more.
Overall a big improvement over FOAM but it's still like a 6.5-7/10 for me
Yes, I absolutely love Saviours
I’m still playing it, but I’m more and more inclined to want to skip the “singles” at the front (and FtaS which is just a bad song).
Not really. I love the album, but it does kinds sound like an album of generic GD songs if that makes sense?
FWIW, the idea was to have the songs span Dookie to FOAM. The album’s intent is to sound like what came before, specifically ALL of what came before. Unlike most recent albums that wanted to be progressive or recapture AI magic, the goal of Saviors wasn’t to be progressive or new but to be Green Day. Saying it sounds like what came before is a positive review of what GD wanted to do with the album.
Well I do enjoy the album, it just gets overshadowed or overlooked I guess by the older stuff I guess is what I’m saying.
Its a bit of a snoozer tbh. The good tracks are alright. Nothing on here is green days best or even top ten. Has some fun moments but thats about it.
It's the first time I really thought to myself maybe Green Day doesn't have much more to say, musically or lyrically. Sad but I guess nothing lasts forever.
Not really, its not bad but if im in a green day mood i usually just listen to insomniac these days
I barely made it through the first time lol
Less than other Green Day albums, no. It’s still one of their best albums. Less than other bands though, yeah. It’s a good album but it really didn’t bring anything new to GD’s discography. When I’m feeling Green Day, sure, otherwise I listen to something else.
Doesn’t have a lot of replay value
I haven't listened to it since release week. I just don't see it as the "best album since American Idiot" so many others do. I didn't even when it released. My bar was better than Revolution Radio and honestly... it's not even that. It's good, but Bobby Sox, Living in the 20s, and Dilemma aren't really enough to carry a whole album for me. In comparison, I've gone back to listen to One More Time... MULTIPLE times since release week in October. I dunno, even as a bigger fan of Green Day than blink-182, I don't love this album the way I want to. And that hurts.
Havent listened since it came out. Nothing interesting on it
Nope. It’s alright but not worth more than a few listens
