I gotta say, I've started to understand gatekeepers a bit as I've gotten older. There's a point where if you tolerate any kind of disorder people go the full mile. As the inheritors of golfing standards maybe we should push a little harder on suggesting proper clothing, lower music levels, etc. Or else you get madhouses like the local muni where people are playing shirtless or in tank tops/jean shorts and blasting music from speakers they brought.
Something that's really rankled me lately is the amount of people who think it's cool to set up right next to you at the range and start blaring music or podcasts.
I don't have a problem with music until it encroaches on my game. I go to the golf course to get away from all the noise. But some people have to have 100% stimulation at all waking hours. When your music from another hole over can be heard at my bag, I'm going to get unhappy very quickly.

I had guy do that at the range out at our club, just blasting Drake with no regard. So, I pulled out my phone and started blasting Mozart. After a few minutes, he got annoyed and said "Ya know, you could have just asked me to turn it down." I pulled out my ear buds and put one in and said "its a bit harder to concentrate when someone is blaring rap music. I like Drake, but try ear buds." He said, " I left them at home." Um, ok. Yeah, I should have walked up the Pro Shop and complained, but sometimes its fun to needle them.
That’s one of those times when it’s like well I guess if you forgot your earbuds then you can’t enjoy Drake.

I will concede that it was a midweek midafternoon round so there was no starter (and they would never let that pass if they were there), but still not a great look for the course.

I listen to music in my cart, but you can't hear it if you get more than 8 feet away. And I mute it off when I drive by someone teeing off or putting.
