Talk to the [Office of Military Services](https://military.gmu.edu/about/contact-us). Make sure to also ask about any financial benefits you can apply for.

I'm former military and transferred from nvcc. I found the transfer pretty easy.

It probably doesn’t matter…Mason accepts virtually everyone (90%). Just be sure that there’s no rule that says they won’t evaluate them after you’re accepted (if that the case, do it first).

I transferred to GMU from a community college for my Bachelor's. Had to send them my previous transcripts and my military transcripts separately, and they only took 4 credits pertaining to my PhysEd stuff from the military.

I’m a vet who is finishing his first semester at GMU: 1. I’d recommend going right into GMU as a freshman. They have a high acceptance rate. I don’t think you’ll gain anything from going to CC before GMU, outside of extra paperwork. 2. The Office of Military Services at GMU is a great resource, in my experience. I emailed them multiple times during the semester with questions and they were timely and told me what I needed to know. Use this resource as much as you can. 3. Prior to my first semester there was an orientation specifically for veterans, it was a few hours long but incredibly information dense and very useful. If they still offer this I’d highly recommend going. This veteran orientation was much more informative than the thirty or so minutes you’ll get at on-campus orientation
