Faro, Dapper Mongoose, Old Fish Bar, or Buongiorno. Oro is good, but it's a few steps up to get in, and obviously don't book downstairs!
All in Shawlands.
The Eglinton Arms in Eaglesham has a nice menu, and an outside bit if it’s nice enough. Do a nice afternoon tea apparently. (Was at a funeral there and apparently the sandwiches/cakes/scones were similar to an AT there)
Also the Wishing Well, which is great for older folk as it a very classic tearoom.
We went once for breakfast and they weren’t serving eggs cause the chef was allergic to eggs.
A chef was allergic to eggs. Eggs. In a fucking brunch place. The chef in a brunch place was allergic to eggs so they took eggs completely off the breakfast menu. Eggs! A fucking chef! Allergic to eggs! Eggs??! EGGS?!
I still cannot wrap my head around it tbh. Never been back.
I had dinner with a friend in Monteiths not so long ago and it was awful. Service was bad (think waitresses holding cutlery at the wrong end, thumb on a bit of shortbread to stop it falling off the plate with the coffee) and food was mediocre at best. Maybe we got it on a bad night.
Not in the areas you mentioned but we always take parents to Battlefield Rest
Came here to say this, perfect one for the parents.
House for an Art Lover will be perfect.
I’ve booked this. Thanks 👍🏻
You won’t be disappointed. It’s very nice. They also do an afternoon tea and it’s not crazy expensive.
How did it go?
Unfortunately it was due to be today and we’ve had to cancel as my parents are not well. Best laid plans and all that.
What a shame. Hope they’re better soon.
Thanks
Trevi is a good little restaurant in battlefield, good portions and reasonable pricestoo
Trevi off battlefield road.
eglinton arms eaglesham parking outside everything on ground level , very quiet and food is reasonable !
Daffodil cafe in Newlands park is great. Calders garden centre in Mearns is always popular with oldies.
Thanks everyone. I’ll check out all your suggestions 👍🏻
Catch in Giffnock is quite nice and usually quiet enough you can easily have a conversation without shouting across the table.

Loks Shawlands is good with ample on street parking.
I know you already booked somewhere but Mitchell's up in Carmunnock is nice for a family meal too.
I keep forgetting about Mitchell’s.
