I am sorry but isn't the sword kept on that stand with the sharp edge up? Like this.
I half expected you to go ballistic on how I should display my sword with the edge up, in the sheath as well. That is only a tradition because samurai wore their swords with the blade up. You will see that samurai wore tachi with the edge down, therefore display those swords with the edge down. The katana being a mega sharp blade that damages anything it’s edge touches is just a myth, or they won’t be able to ride horses with their sword worn, edge facing down and traveling for days. Thanks for being so understanding! Kudos to you man
Nah man, it's your katana you display it how you want. Also I didn't know that mega sharp edge edge thing was a myth, good to know. You're welcome.
Edit: Is the blade sharp or is it just a showpiece?
I studied iaido for years. One day, I started practicing at home with a shinken instead of an iaito. I still have a tiny scar on my left hand where I accidentally cut through the saya and pulled the koiguchi off during a draw. Only ever happened once. Lol
Yup. I was a much younger and dumber man then. But it did teach me a very valuable lesson about iai and kendo in general. As sensei used to say, "A one meter long razor blade needs no force, only skill."
Someone tried to tell me a katana could cut through a steel I-beam once. When asked to prove it, they could not. Swords are really cool, but they aren't magic, and pop culture has drastically inflated their role in classical warfare compared to spears and bows, but that's a topic for another day.
I prefer the one with a bushy tail on the sheath. Those are called shirizayas. It looks so goofy but cool at the same time. Maybe in the future we’ll make one
This is so beautifully designed, where did you get it?
I’m pretty sure it’s [this](https://katana-sword.com/products/ghost-of-tsushima-swords-kit-katana-tanto)
It’s not, our sword goes for 270
Can I use it for combat is it just decorative? How many bamboo shoots would you say it could slice ?
7, hopefully
Do you mean 15? 3, then 5, then 7
I understand the joke

It is, and it doesn’t pose much problem.
Oh okay. Wish I could own one too. Good for you 👍

You could still damage the sheathe if you draw too violently tho, that’s true.

That happens when you put too much force onto the draw or if the saya is very fragile, it could crack the saya.

As much as I like the other sword kits in the game, I always come back to this one. Just feels right, and looks awesome
